It's indeed no big loss since those mods are fat and fags anyway, that's what I think anyway.

I have been keeping my eye on some 1st gen RAV4 3-door 5MT posted in the city I live close to. The offering said it was super clean and serviced, with the original motor at 150k mileage. This offer would've been a no-brainer... if it were still 2009.

The reason for this? I could not, for the life of me, find any replacement motor or transmission that can work with the model so I'm left at not going for it. Looked through all of eBay and Facebook and there's just nothing. Kind of a shame because those 90s 3-door SUVs are pretty fun in spite of its age and low power. I'll see what I can find for a 370z, that will the closest I can get for a reasonable price these days.

yeah, unfortunately some car and motors are so obscure that there aren't many of them around and what is saved it going for obscene amount of money. i've noticed even within the past decade that even popular models with lots of them around are becoming scarce for new parts. for example, i tried finding a headlight and signal light wiring harness for my taurus and just change out the whole wiring harness, and that part is nowhere to be seen. if i want it, i'll have to buy a set of headlights off amazon that have the harnessess come with it or buy a used one off ebay for 100$, or find a junkyard that has one. i just bought the headlight socket off rockauto and going to splice it in when it gets here this week.

Too much ends up in the crusher. It's depressing.

If my Honda motor popped I'm stuck with going back to a D series or a K swap both make me shudder and then I don't want to take her past 9k lol.

I'm actually thinking of just for sound maybe trying to build another set of ITBs done it before wasnt too hard.

Its true, especially when the car's in good condition but owner's either have gotten scared by a con artist of a mechanic or just don't care and want easy money.

Half the time it's the insurance company totalling it out because the car is old and got a minor dent in accident. You can get em cheap from auction at least.

true. i've seen this happen numerous times. my brother scored a 1993 chrysler new yorker for cheap because the previous owner got convinced it needed a new transmission, but all it needed was a shift solenoid. what it did was sometimes it wouldn't shift into reverse until it warmed up, but once it did, it sfifted into reverse fine.

If you could own an electric-swapped version of any vehicle, what would it be?

Gotta be careful tho, too much torque will wring the a pillars right off.

crosspost from here, as this topic transcends niggers and Altimas

Speaking of niggers, remember those old jokes about what car brands really stood for? Like FORD was an acronym for "Found On Road, Dead" or "Fix Or Repair, Daily" ??

My chick's father taught me one that I did not know. Pontiac is short for "Poor Old Nigger Thinks It's A Cadillac". That one is my new favorite.
Another popular Ford initialism where I'm from is "Fucked On Race Day".

A few more off the top of my head:
BMW - Bavarian Money Waster, Blonde Mistress Workhorse, Black Man's Willy
LOTUS - Lots Of Trouble Usually Expensive
SAAB - Swedish And Always Broken

Chinese cars also have some of those initialism too:

BYD: Burn Your Dollars, Burn You Down, Burn Your Dignity, Buy Your Death

FIAT according to my dad is short for "Fix It Again, Tony"

My dad's WRX is choosing to be a nigger and everything breaks. I explained, just get a Lotus it works all the time it's toyota parts... well Honda soon.

I am on my PC and will probably forget but some dude had a Carbon Kevlar wide body on his supra (new) 60k for the body kit but omg sick.

Aside all that had a cruise with Father in law.... the Z looks nice in the booty. I actually really like that car. I don't mean to brag or nothing, but my Honda can keep up with it... he's old and won't push.

Insulting car acronym's: European edition. Very cool. I really like the Lotus one but I love the one for Saab. It's perfect.

Not a huge car guy but what the fuck is up with modern car design? Specifically what kind of crack are they smoking in the paint departments?

Like, for example: Every previous era gray or tan cars were matte or dull. Now all of a sudden with the new cars, I see high gloss/almost candy coated paintjobs, when the base coat is fucking GRAY (or like puke green or babyshit blue or fucking doublemint twin beige).

There is no reason to make a gray/beige car, high gloss/candy coat. It looks fucking TERRIBLE. Save that niggerlicious shit for like bright primary colors, and while you're at it, throw some metal flake in for fuck's sake you animals.
