Virginia Mayo next to a Lincoln.

There's a sweet spot of power, where you can have fun without losing your license. Maybe try a supercharged version and see how it is before altering yours? Honestly, I can't enjoy the Aston and kinda regret buying it as it's far too powerful
So a US e36 has 240hp; the sweet spot is, probably, 350ish. My s4 is at 450 on pump and I won't say it's too powerful; but all it really has is power. But you're not wrong, the only way to have fun in it is going way above the limit. But I'm not totally convinced it's due to just the power.
Put some ITBs on that S52 and make those Toyota 4AGE guys shut up for once.
Depending on the cost, I'll do that in the interim. I'd just like some more power, but there is no way to get there on engine alone that I can see. At least realistically.

I don't know those motors off the top of my head, but bike carbs can do nice ITBs. I made a few sets for other honda people back in the day. You sound like you have a dope ass set up as is tho!

The M3 is the "never sell" car. Which is why I've spent so long figuring out wtf I want to do with it. To my shop-mates chagrin I'm sure. But I pay rent so fuck you I'll use it for storage if I want.

I believe you can retrofit the S54 ITBs onto the S52; I'll have to look. The problem is, it's probably half the cost of the supercharger kit. German cars, while fantastic, are not cheap.

My non M cars have been comparatively cheaper to fix and maintain and I came from Hondas before graduating. The ///M tax is real even for humdrum basic parts like oil filters and engine oil (looking at you E90 M3).

Not on the e36 afaik. The s52 is pretty close to an m52 just bored out. Suspension is different and that may be the case that it's far more expensive. The e36 has been similar to maintain as my jap cars myself. Getting more hp tho, bleh.

On the topic of ITBs, Redux Racing makes a kit; but holy fuck. That's pretty close to a supercharger kit which could get me to around 700hp.
A cheaper kit, I might go for that this summer. But still, a grand is a lot for something temporary.

So even on my tiny and easy to lay waste in 4th gear snow tires really enjoying what extra thump the Honda has.

Motivated to do more and really I've done everything sane, mostly insane and now I'm down to polishing touches.

I thought about something that is niche as hell and no longer in production. But something I could try to learn myself ?

I want to do an under body diffuser. No one makes them I know of for the (EF) 88-91 civic hatch. If someone knows anything about either design or for sale please let me know

I am aware you need to have air flow for cooling access etc it's not just slapping a sheet of fiberglass or metal under the frame.

But I don't know where to get started maybe SCCA auto X forums etc?

Aware cost might get up there but fuck it.

Pirate solidworks, learn sim-flow. 3d scan the car; it makes life much easier.

You can get solidworks for 20-100 bucks depending on the source.

Any love for big-block Euro V8s here?
Picked up a (new to me) W204 C63 last week. As a wagon, of course.

You might be thinking "What does this tard mean by 'big block euro V8?' Those are usually only 4-Liters!" Yeah, you're right.

But this thing is right out of the era when all the german car manufacturers went bonkers, slapped in 5 Liter V10s or even Biturbo V10s into family cars like BMWs E60 M5, Audis RS6 C6, or high-revving 4L V8s into even smaller cars like the RS4 B7 and BMW E90 series. You can tell I'm fanboying over my new acquisition. 7250RPM of 6.2L N/A V8 goodness over here. Goes like a motherfucker with it's 457HP and 600NM. Too bad the winter tires are only 235s in the rear, so you can imagine that it doesn't stick at all.
What do my fellow Kiwis think about "Euro Muscle"?

Nice purchase. Big fan of European V8s too despite their complexity, especially the ones from VAG. I think Benz tuned the exhaust to match that V8 really well. It sounds mean, perfect for the Albanian mafia. My favorite has to be the S62 found in the E39 M5 and Z8. Super reliable and puts down gobs of power for the late 90s and still holds up today for a NA, port injected V8.

Can't edit so double post; are after-market remote starters still garbage? I'd love remote start in my S4, but I remember aftermarket ones always being a shit show. Let alone for modern electrical systems.

I'll definitely check it out. Clearly this is a no rush passion project, and it's because anything else I've run out of doing vs very mild expensive swaps of parts.

Love me a euro V8 IMHO AMG makes the best sounding V8 (NA) I've always wanted a rs4 Audi 4.2 isn't huge but spinning 8300! More than a little Honda! 6 speed small frame... Down side used Audi.

When it comes to big/small block it's honestly not the cubes but block size it self (when we are talking merkian motors) my 400 in my Pontiac is a small block but there are 360 big blocks.

As for remote starts, they have gotten better, but if you have a stick you need to do little more work and depending on area may fail inspection. Cut outs have not gotten better, friend is pulled his and we are going to retrofit an active exhaust setup on his Camaro so there's no leaks and or stoppages.
