I6 is the most balanced standard engine configuration ever made. It's really hard to do it wrong.I miss having a straight 6 diesel. Is there any bad straight 6? Bmw bros stop vaping for a few minutes and tell me I'm wrong

The I6 in the old first gen mustangs was garbage, but it was really easy to fix when it inevitably fucked up.I6 is the most balanced standard engine configuration ever made. It's really hard to do it wrong.
N54 if you don't DIY the work. Currently you can't get refurbished high pressure fuel injectors for them due to supply shortages.I miss having a straight 6 diesel. Is there any bad straight 6? Bmw bros stop vaping for a few minutes and tell me I'm wrong

Ford can fuck anything up.The I6 in the old first gen mustangs was garbage
The 300 straight 6 was made from 64 to 96 and they put it in everything. I've seen it used in generators and industrial equipment that looks like it's been through hell and back.Ford can fuck anything up.
GM interiors are trash for sure. I had a 77 and an 84 Trans-Am and both were terrible inside for different reasons (fucking leather purse instead of a glove box, ffs). Even the new Escalade feels like a toddler's understanding of comfort, sure, its got plushy seats and decent material, but the layout feels generic as hell. The 300 straight 6 was made from 64 to 96 and they put it in everything. All anecdotal info until I hear real numbers from someone. Also no power lmao
That being said I dislike almost everything made by GM. Their interiors make me feel like they're trying not to look cheap, where Chrysler goes full retard and I can respect that.
I had a 6L V8 GMC for a few years that thing ran like a scalded dog. The highway mpg was the same as my shoe size lolGM interiors are trash for sure. That said, their V8s (323 and up, not including Northstar) are all great if you're willing to learn what to do with them and how to do it. My 84 Trans-Am ended up having me pull the 350 it came with and dropping in an Olds Golden Rocket V8 I stroked out to 383). I drove that thing for 5 years from coast to coast a few times and absolutely loved it until one day she decided she'd had enough and the transmission cooler gave out and set the tranny, then the rest of the car on fire while I was 30 miles outside Ft. Irwin
Atleast it ran, I guess. I know everyone talks about the LS platform as an amazing piece of modern engineering, but I'll admit my experience with GM V8s stops around the time they started adding multi-port fuel injectionI had a 6L V8 GMC for a few years that thing ran like a scalded dog. Normal Ford electrical stuff from what I've heard. Never buy the first year model of a vehicle, however it's really hard to buy any car right now. That being said, they've been using that crossover platform for a while now. I'd say go for it.I'm thinking of buying one of the Ford Maverick Hybirds for my wife. We are OK that it's basically a crossover in a truck body, the box is just a bonus. I have to put a deposit down now to get a 2023 model because of supply chain issues. Anyone have any experience with the 2022s? Any big problems crop up?
GM has been making 350 cu engines since 1954, and the LS series since 97 I think. Anything with no cylinder shutdown is dead reliable.Atleast it ran, I guess. I've owned one myself and it was a great engine and I've only ever heard praise for it. It was a truck engine though. It had less top end horsepower than the 302 V8 but it had more torque all through the power curve. The one I had was in a 83 F150. I'd load it with firewood until it was sitting on the bump stops and it wouldn't batt an eyelash. That was one of those cars that I shouldn't have let get away. I payed $300 for that truck. The 300 straight 6 was made from 64 to 96 and they put it in everything. The LS platform was built with performance in mind. Gm was considering going to a overhead cam design like everybody else was so they set up two engineering teams. One for a OHC engine and one for a traditional pushrod OHV engine. They stuck each prototype engine in the same type car and had race drivers demo them and give their reactions. The pushrod LS platform won. It really is a good platform in my experience. They did fuck up along the way though. For several years they put shitty cam bearings in only the 6.0 for some reason. Those were prone to spin and decrease oil pressure to the rest of the engine after 150 to 200k. They also had a oil pickup seal that was prone to failing around 200k which would allow the oil pump to suck air and decrease oil pressure. The next weak point is the lifters. Those start to fail between 200 and 350k in my experience. That is all before they introduced VVT and DOD. If you turn that shit off early the engines are fine, but if not you are going to have to go into the engine around around 150k to manually delete it.Atleast it ran, I guess. If I remember correctly the GM small block V8 debuted in 55. They made it in a rush to coincide with the now iconic tri five release and the 55 year model didn't even have an oil filter. They managed to add one by 56 though. It was 265 cubic inches. I have one that came out of a 56 Bel Aire that I had in a 55 Nomad at one point. The 327 and it's famous double hump head option came in the early sixties. The 350 didn't make it into production vehicles until like 67 or 8 I think. You're dead nut with the LS engine though. That happened in my life time so it is easier to remember. The LS1 debuted in the 97 Corvette and was released the next year in the Camaro. You can tell the 97 and 98 engines by their funky valve covers/ignition coils and weird and harder to program computers. The Lsx platform found it's way into trucks in 99 with the new body style. If you are looking to do a LS swap on the cheap the 03-06 year model trucks are my pick. In 03 they moved from drive by cable to drive by wire so it is super simple to add cruise control to your hotrod and in 07-8 they started the VVT DOD failed (in this platform) experiment. I've done newer swaps and even the newer LT, but that is a happy spot for me. I've also done Hemi and Coyote swaps. I feel sorry for the pocket books of the Chrysler and Ford guys. They leave 3090TI's on the table left and right. Some fag from the internet and tech board might get that.GM has been making 350 cu engines since 1954, and the LS series since 97 I think. A Mini is like a hamster. It's cute and fun, but it will die in two years.I don't really want to dox myself but I own a mini cooper gp3 and it is my child I love it with every fiber of my being I just hit 10k miles with it. I have had it out on the track once does anyone else have interest in mini as a car manufacturer or am I the only weirdo.
That's what I am afraid of I really like this car but it has to much horse power for a two door mini I have had it one a track and it handled turns and everything fine but it defiantly wears fast.A Mini is like a hamster. It's cute and fun, but it will die in two years.
I knew you were a troll but I wanted to get my pun in. My next car will be a Scion XB because I love those boxy fuckers and I want to build an Itasha. I've done the American car scene to death so I'm thinking of going super autistic metric now. That's what I am afraid of I really like this car but it has to much horse power for a two door mini I have had it one a track and it handled turns and everything fine but it defiantly wears fast.
Not a troll just trying to see what other people are into. Good luck with your next car build man.I knew you were a troll but I wanted to get my pun in.
