Lana Turner had Topping engraved on her '41 Chrysler Newport wheels. Fancy.

I rode in a friend’s XT4 and the interior was awash with a mix of fingerprint sucking gloss black plastic mixed with parts-bin GM switchgear. Just a terrible, terrible place to be. I have no clue how someone could sit in that car and pick it over a Volvo XC60, comparable Lexus crossover, or even a fucking Honda CR-V.
This is kind of like saying that GM is the skinniest kid at fat camp, but their truck interiors have improved so much over the early 00s.

New fender because I discovered a bunch of crappy Bondo in the front after tapping a pole. The whole front corner cracked and the body shop understandably wanted a lot to fix it. I'm not sure how I'm going to align the gaps to match the passenger side. I've been using tow straps to squeeze it into place. Discovered most of the body work in this corner was being held in by drywall screws underneath so I ended up tapping old holes and replacing bolts too. Is it worth it? Idk, but I learned a lot

@The Last Stand _Those Hollywood oldtimers had GREAT taste!

I parted with this baby about a year ago. Fortunately, she went to a Caddy collector and he had been looking for one of these in great shape for awhile. Literally owned by a little old lady in OK. I was the 2nd owner, had 18,000 miles on it when I bought it. 1984 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz with a stainless steel roof. I owned it for close to 8 years, but sold it because I never drove it much other to some car shows and cruise nights. Was always scared some idiot would hit me or fuck it up with door dings. They sure don't make these long wheel base coupes anymore and it's a shame, because it's the most cush ride ever. The yellow/tan chamois leather color combo was also pretty rare. I had all the original paperwork from the day the car was originally ordered and delivered; the original "Golden Keys" it was delivered with, and all the original owner manuals and such. You can see the old brick cellphone mounted on the floor in the last pic. A nice collectible and I miss her. Her name was "Betty" (after the original owner).

80s caddies were so sweet. My grandpa had one for when he had to take my grandmother anywhere because she was too fat to get in to his giant 78 GMC dualie. That thing was so comfortable aside from the passenger side of the bench seat, as my grandmother's 350lb ass had cratered the fucking thing

A lot of the older ones were, too, but were literal land barges - heavy as hell with huge V8s producing squat horsepower to push them down the road. They burped gas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but gas prices then were like .19 cents a gallon for regular and .30 cents for premium, so nobody really cared about how many MPG the car got.

My very first car at 15 years old was a Caddy. A '63 Fleetwood Brougham I bought it in 1970. An old guy on my paper route was retiring and moving to Florida and he had about six cars. The day he put the For Sale sign in the window, I asked him about it. He said "You know what? You've always been great, my paper is here on time everyday exactly where I asked you to put it and if you want this car, I'll sell it to you for $250."

I was stunned. $250 was like my life savings at the time from my paper route (which I delivered on bicycle everyday). I rode down to the bank, got the money and paid him, then drove the Caddy home and parked it in the driveway.

My dad came home that night and asked "Where in the hell did the Cadillac come from?" Me smiling, told him it was mine and that it ran great and I paid $250 for it. He about shit himself, then into "dad mode" with well you're not driving it until you get your license and insurance and get plates for it blah-blah (turning 16 was only a couple of months away, so no biggie). In the meantime, I went over that car bumper to bumper cleaning it, polishing it, and fixing things like power vent windows that didn't work. Mostly just cracked wires in the door frames from opening and closing over the years.

I was the only kid in high school that had his own Caddy and it was so big we'd pack like 8 people in it and cruise and have fun. Looked exactly like the pic below, but was a light green mist color, not aqua.

Betty White had two Cadillacs. One she named Parakeet, a 1977 Seamist Green Cadillac Seville. It's now in a museum.

RIP Bette White. You even DROVE in style too.

I saw a viper in my area for $12k a few months ago. You can get 4 admittedly clapped-out vipers and have leftover cash for fuel, insurance and track day fees for less than a 09 type R now. Literal super cars are cheaper than an old hot hatch in this timeline

First gen Vipers are usually in the 20-30k range. That must have been a real hooptie Viper to go for 12k. Corvette C4 is another great former supercar that can be had for cheap.

Eh I don't think I'd speak too highly of c4s the ZR1 is still a burner and on my "I will own" list, I almost traded my z28 ls1 camaro for a c4 GS (LT4 330hp etc) but frankly my camaro was just better as a daily at the time.. I kinda kick myself but I digress, c5s are great and cheap if you don't mind the GM play skool plastics and don't get the auto air con fuck run trust me, I briefly had a z06 and god was fun.

c6s are much better all around and cheap now, probably about as low as they will get so, if you want one get one now.

Vipers, personally I enjoy them I like me silly but I wouldn't want any thing pre 8.3 change and all. the first gens aged poorly (the insides are PT cruiser sad) chug fuel and the clamshell up front is one piece so if its nicked your SOL in fact many near total from parking lot dents due to it.

Now if youre looking at those vipers, let me tell you Henessy is a fucking nigger never talk to him, flat out. Scam artist, but if you want more (and tbh early vipers are cool but not as fast as current fast cars) go to your local junk yard find a dodge truck and get the rear gear out.

I've ridden in a full bolt on (don't forget those v10s sound like shit) and a gear swap, the one that had a 3.42 rear vs stock 3.08 was a TON faster and lol who cares about mpg? Plus with a t56 you're still .5 double overdrive on highway.

Now to me because why post unless I am going to brag or something? I reached back out to brodix and I'm going to have the head on my civic P&P'd my friend talks too much shit despite being slower I don't break 200 WHP, keep talking nigger I'll do it. Frankly I don't want to change anything else so lets hope I can get 8 HP from this peak so I can finally say I broke 200 lol.

As always hunting for a better daily than my jag, but I cant find anything I like such is life.

Of course the newer generations Corvettes will have improvements over its predecessors. I mention the C4 because despite it being an old chassis, it's still a good performer on a budget and more than enough for a novice getting into trackdays.

What kind of Jag do you daily?

Well the c4 was a long era, and lot of them had boat anchor motors and they are getting more and more tricky to find parts for (aside the basic SBC stuff) personally, it's a nice car and later ones had some real good ones like the LT1 (4 for GS) at the end, I think keeping it road worthy is going to be more an issue c5s just easier all around and price point they are as low as they get. That also being said you get your "LS" gen 3 motors in the 5. If you're getting a stick (as most who are into motorsports will) you're getting the T56 vs the old ZF trans, again with a new generation and much nicer. The 4l60e auto is a dog's wet ass hole and should be avoided.

Aside some of the real early c4 wheezers you will have more than enough power if your trying any motor sports fresh I do agree on that. I wouldn't say the c4 is bad or anything but I really think it's aged enough a 5 is a better deal 6s are again nicer but as you said they keep getting better.

My daily is an XKR-S 2013, new pulley and reflashed to just over 600. Upkeep is bad, as one can expect, and in the winter I don't often take her out, (I commute by train to work now and have 2 mile drive) so mostly I just run my civic since, I could literally give less fucks it blows hot heat never fails and it's a fun go kart so it's mostly my winter ride.

No Mazda in the poll? Anyways the 787B is the world's coolest car.
