Expecting Albertans to understand how equalization payments work is expecting too much. The same could be said about Ontarians and Quebecois.
We know how it works. We pay in over 80% of that fund, and have been told we will never be given anything out of it, even when we needed it, so fuck you.

Quebec will never separate, their whole “separatist” movement is really about blackmailing Ontario to get more than their share, and they’d be an economic basket case without the transfer scam keeping them afloat.
While this may be true, the PQ is promising a referendum being one of the first things they do if (more like when) they win the next provincial election. Either they actually put their asses on the line or I get the enjoyment of seeing French boomers squeal like the pigs they are.

They're walking this promise back funnily enough, the post-leadership race Lib polling bump must have sufficiently scared them to force some "better communication" strategies. Still likely they'll engineer the conditions for one when elected, but not a guarantee now; I'm half expecting them to treat it as a wedge issue to further milk Ottawa for more gibs and autonomy, just more overtly than the CAQ is doing.

You know we're living in clown world when people here CANNOT STOP GOING TO TIM JEETS NO MATTER WHAT
Honestly it isn’t even the fact they only hire TFW’s these days (or the fact that the TFW’s are almost universally Jeets), its the fat that Tim Horton’s coffee is absolute shit.

I’ll never stop laughing at how McDonalds snapped up the former Tim Horton’s supplier the second they ended their deal. Now if you want a cup of Tim’s, you just go to McD’s - statistically you’re probably closer to a McDonalds anyway…

Thanks for the updated information. I'm reading up on the backtracking right now. Dude can't even do the one thing his party exists to do, destroy Canada. I was going to vote for them as my "giant meteor destroying everything" option but now they're barely a firecracker. The fact that even the Liberals jumped on him for this says a lot about how spineless he is. His response: "Stop trying to scare people by saying I'll do a referendum immediately after getting elected" :story: I hate this province more than I hate the rest of the country. Every choice here is a gun pointed at your head and choosing who pulls the trigger.

So I guess Carney got his majority? He doesn't have to win fake French seat now.

Either Carney sells out to USA or sinks Canada into the armpits of chink/eurofags. I am excited to see what he does.

Yea, looks like some NDP Chink has crossed the aisle and now Carney can do whatever he wants.

So look forward to things getting much worse, much faster as the Liberals can now go full speed ahead with part 2 of their plan to turn Canada into a India 2.0

The next referendum will fail harder than the last two, because Quebecers will be directly asked to”Should Quebec leave confederation?”, and not the kind of word salad question that still failed soundly in 1995 and 1980.

Most Quebecers are stupid enough to be brainwashed into thinking Quebec is not a net recipient of transfer payments, but they don’t want the economic apocalypse that separation would bring them under the repayment rules established to discourage the 1995 referendum voters.

Probably because they know about the equalization payment. Quebec is the only province in Canada that's seen double digit real estate growth after the interest rate hike (apart from Alberta) because the government money is funding the entire province.

Did you know you vote for the individual and not the party, Chud? Why bother having 'parties' or elections at all. Let us just make the Liberals the permanent rulers of Canada and be done with it already. Everyday my rage for this country and its people grows.

Gotta get my morning coffee! I'll be damned if I skip out on indulging in a proud Canadian staple just because of trace amounts of diarrhea contained within the food and drinks!

My aversion to Tim Horton's has become so strong that I don't even want to go to those Wendy's-Tim Horton's joint restaurants. I can deal with a lot of shit, but when you stoop below the level of hygiene standards, you have lost the plot. That is honestly my biggest problem with jeets: hygiene. It costs nothing to keep yourself and your surroundings clean, and it seems they are not just indifferent to hygiene; they actually revel in filth.

Quebexicans - a foreign culture with an obnoxious language that pretends it's superior to the Anglo culture that conquered it, but with worse food than the devolved Hispanic underclass of America. You're right to hate it.
