Even better is it's more than flights now. The Redditors touched on it in part: motels/hotels will cost you $150+ per night unless you're willing to swing the really seedy parts of town (barring being in a rural region, but then you're paying that for a seedy room anyway), food/drinks easily add on another $200-300 per day (and doubly so if actually sitting down at a proper restaurant), and the activities you're doing depending can often exceed both of them combined. I save more crossing the border for a few days with the current exchange rate than a comparable outing up here.
I'm much happier going on another vacation to Japan than spending a single dime on the Canadian tourist market. There is literally nothing of value to see here when every attraction is filled with 3rd world shitters ruining the experience.

I agree. I've been to jasper and banff in the summer months, and holy shit its bang on. Traffic is a nightmare in the towns and on the highways going into them because multiple carloads of chinese tourists would park on the road or halfway on the road and cause traffic jams trying to get around their dumb asses. saw one tourist get oiy of the vehicle and get within 10 feet of a black bear and actually try to feed the fucking thing and taking pics of it. i thought for sure i was going to see a bear attack.

I was like 4-5 when I came to Canada with my parents, around 2010. Plus I doubt that anyone could've predicted that Canada would get THIS bad, at least this quickly. Also keep in mind that Canada technically does have good PR globally because of how little people know about the country. Though if more people knew what really went on here, we'd have the same reputation as the UK, France, and Sweden rn.
