Hot Dogs used to be poor people food. $10 for a six pack of Schneiders now.

At least Carney killed Trudeau's EV mandate. I will give him credit when credit is due. But all of these deals with other countries is going to mean fuck all if the cost of living doesn't improve.
What is the new poor food meta? A 320 january gas bill killed my Feb budget.

Man I hate living here.

My principle property tax went up 5% this year.

My rental went up 2%.

In total, I am paying $1000 more this year for nothing.

At the current rate of tax increases, one third of my income will now be dedicated to paying just property tax.

I am ready to start anti property tax coalition at this point. Fuck this.

Creston? What the hell? I guess they get a lot of boomers retiring there so yeehaw! Crank up that property tax baby! Fuck them boomers! Jeez, that sucks, Creston is a beautiful place otherwise.
It's the same in the lower mainland I think out of the last 3 or 4 years this year was the first time my city hall decided not to raise the tax up by the highest increase they could, they do this shit and then they put on some show in the town center in the summer, the fuck? You retards are raising my property taxes and then spending money on bread and circus for the slop people? Screw off.

Probably ramen

What about a safe space from jeets?

Literally where is that money going? Conventionally, local schools take up the lion's share of property taxes. Canada isn't some hyperfecund white sharia law state with a 6.0 TFR.

The Creston in the Kootenays? That Creston? I could see why they would given it's basically a glorified retirement home at this point (and a pass-through tourist stop) reliant on orchards and artisanal small business (lacks suitable industry to tax for infrastructure maintenance), but it's only going to kill the place off faster. If businesses cannot keep their doors open tourists won't stop, and if tourists won't stop more businesses will close. Once that spiral accelerates even the retirement cases will move because they won't want to always drive 2+ hours just to pick up basic ammenities.

There's a lot of incredibly beautiful communities across the Kootenays which are primed for death because they are too isolated and too damn expensive for anyone working retail to live anymore.

I'm assuming so.

All along highway 3 it's beautiful with nice small towns, I'd love to live in Midway or somewhere around there, but yeah, it's insane, there's barely any work or none at all, but you're stilling pay around 500K for a house. From what I've seen in BC the only way to get an "affordable place" is to go central, basically 100 mile house and north from there and that's where prices are cheaper.

Probably ramen
Ramen/instant noodles often take more energy to digest than they actually give you, so I would recommend just buying rice in bulk and then just cheap vegetables/meat to supplement it. I used to live near a Costco and I practically lived off the rotisserie chicken lol.

I haven't posted in a while.

A reminder that Canadian patriotism makes no sense since most Canadians today would probably join the American Revolution rather than fight for King Charles III.

I'm sick and tired of the so-called patriots with Trump Derangement Syndrome and anti-Americanism, and their idea of Canadian patriotism is prostituting our country to India and China.

Canada makes no sense now because it's a contradiction, a country borne out of loyalty to the British Crown only to become self-hating Whites lusting for Third Worlders.

Never forget that the Canadian elites that are crying foul at the AI slop video Trump uploaded on his Twitter account today stood by Justin Trudeau  after he was exposed for wearing blackface & said completely unironically to a gay jew's face that she was standing with the "freedom convoy nazis" & Invited an actual nazi to parliament. If it wasnt for double standards the left wouldn't have any.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but he doesn't care about your cost of living, he only wants to enrich himself and Brookfield before the cattle find out

When can the "Rape and Kill Indians Act" finally get proposed and passed into effect? Theyre using the legal system to maliciously sue/scam normal Canadians.

Sadly we don't get a say in where we're born. I'd move, but my mom is a stubborn boomer who needs someone to take care of her.

Living here sucks for a young guy. There are no real jobs, not many women, not many hobbies.

I can relate. I lived for a while in the region during my high school years and I do not have a single friend who still resides there. It's almost a meme how once kids graduate there's two options for such communities: immediately depart to the city for college/uni or luck out and land a job in the local industry - i.e. forestry, tourism, or one of the few retail spots. And if you're doing the latter you don't have a lot of opportunities to grow a proper career.

Honestly I miss living out there, but also know it's nostalgia talking. You either need a few million in the bank or enjoy permanently living off the grid to make it work these days.

I was born and raised here, so it makes it harder to leave. But you are 100% accurate. Kids hit 18 and usually fuck off, with the only ones remaining being the burn outs and single moms.

I really wish my mom wasn't dead set on staying here just because we own a (mortgaged) house. Shit is fucking unaffordable and there's no future here. But goddamn, she needs someone to look out for her wheel chair bound ass.

Every time I see shit like this, it's a reminder that India and other shitholes don't have nice things, because their inhabitants keep scamming everyone until they go away. Now they want to do that in decent countries.

Alberta needs to leave immediately. Not in a funny haha half-joking way, like genuinely. Get out before it becomes impossible to not be surrounded by Indians.

In these dreadful times, I bring you levity. The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages posted this on social media recently. Saying their tails and hearts get excited when you speak English and French, seemingly either unaware (or extremely aware) that "tail" is the default slang for dick in French.
