I’m American so I have no clue about any of that, I just find it hilarious that declaring independence requires asking “pretty please can we maybe do this.”

The entire point of declaring independence is that Alberta no longer recognizes Canadian laws, courts, or treaties to have any sovereignty over them. It’s absurd to think they need permission from a tribe. Who’s going to hold them to it? Seems like telling the “First Nation” to fuck off is a definite bonus.

Edit: I also recognize that I’m looking at it from a very American point of view. But I’m not one who thinks we need to make Alberta a 51st state. I think they should be independent, mostly because Canada is gay af.

Assuming they have the guns and the will, yes absolutely. There are no such thing as rules in politics, just consequences. People only vote because it's an easier compromise than fighting or revolution. The Canadian military is, frankly, pathetic and wouldn't be able to do much against a serious armed revolt.

Now, realistically? I don't think it will happen. Too many people still believe that there is a "right" and "wrong" way to do something like declare political independence. I don't believe there are a sufficient number of people willing to actually fight, and a sufficient number of people willing to allow the fighting to be uninterrupted, for that to be a realistic outcome at this time. The instant some people suggest fighting, the 90%+ of people who think that fighting is always morally wrong will just shout them down and/or leave and/or report them to the authorities who disagree with the idea of fighting who will break it up.

At a bare minimum, if the cops aren't willing to look the other way, it ain't happening without a large support base willing to suppress the police.

If the United States recognizes Alberta as independent or begins talks with the Albertan government to bring them in as a territory, then Ottawa wouldn't do anything to stop them.

Edit: You might actually see the other Western Provinces seriously look into leaving as well if the U.S. shows any support for Alberta.

I rewatched some KvS again and "Who can be homeless the longest" takes place entirely outside. Toronto was white was fuck in the 2000s, pretty chinky tbf but nothing crazy for a cosmopolitan metropolis. I saw one, maybe two jeets in total.
"Who can kiss more women" is also mostly in public and its even more white.
If anybody was in Toronto during the last five years how does it compare to today?

Probably tmi for myself, but I actually did work with a treaty organization. This reads and is composed EXACTLY how they would in pretty much any nation; just lots of whining, lack of understanding of the law, appeals to emotion, making the treaties more sacred than they actually are, and lacks any expansion on any of the subjects brought up. Most chiefs are complete retards, especially when it comes to reading the room. I have had the displeasure of having to conversate with many of them and quite a bit of them don't even have a high school education.

This is all just for gibs, nothing else.

I have had dealings with them too. Like talking to a brick, every single one of them. Poorly written emails, demanding a personal apology from the PM over aircraft noise. Screaming about their sacred right to shoot elk in the middle of town. It's like if hillbillies got high on their own bullshit.

In fact the Caribou herd in Labrador is getting decimated by natives going out and shooting a dozen of them at a time.

But back to the treaties. Shmooley Goldenfeathers of the Long Nose Tribe has been gassing them up since the 90s. Willing to waste millions and millions of band money to sue the government over whatever he could think up. Trust Fund Trudy and the University Communist crowd decided to give them whatever they wanted in the name of 'historical injustices.' That's how you have a chunk of Richmond now belongs to the Cowichan.

Of course this means any economic development is now held hostage entirely by shady lawyers and retard Chiefs.

If you're the type to enjoy Russian roulette, I highly recommend taking an Uber in any urban area early enough in the day that the streets haven't been properly plowed yet. A good percentage of the drivers are dune coons or Africans who have never seen snow prior to this year, let alone driven in it, and have no idea what the fuck a "snow tire" is. One dude's hustle legitimately impressed me, he was doing some kind of remote call center job at the same time while managing to dodge all the usual aggressive retards and fat fucks on scooters who blindly dart out into traffic at random intervals.

I'd go as far as to say pajeets would instantly become at least 25% more tolerable if they stopped indiscriminately ripping ass around people in enclosed spaces. I realize that their entire country reeks like an open sewer so it's probably a total non-issue but holding it for a few minutes won't fucking kill you, christ.

I think I commented earlier in the thread on this,

but yeah, past "the Canada I grew up in no longer exists"

Toronto is radically different. I often think of Kenny vs Spenny or shows like Scott Pilgrim for my idea of "old" Canada (barely even that old, to be fair- since this is old modern Canada). I can remember battle of the bands in the city, the rock scene, lots of interesting music stores and local culture, scene kids and anime north, a ton of other things. Lots of Chinese to be fair, I can even remember playing Soul Calibur II and tournaments in random locations with friends of mine in that community growing up.

It was mostly white, with a lot of Asian influence overall,

and somewhere in the mid 2010s everything started to change, everyone from Toronto started trying to act like Drake or the Weeknd, we have the stupid "toronto slang/accent" now which is like a mix of wannabe Jamacian and other stupid influences,

and the vibe of the city is completely different.

From denim and skinny jeans to sweatsuits and athleisure,

I really dont like the city anymore.

If I'm being honest, I don't mind a situation that is like 70% white, 20% East Asian (not FOB), and like 10% other races and minorities. Now, its the complete reverse, essentially. I don't even mind if that 10% grows higher, necessarily- but the problem is, its not organic growth with new generations of people assimilating into broader Canadian culture. Its all pretty much fueled by immigration, and there is zero cultural assimilation at this point (or they assimilate into the stupid wannabe Jamacian gangster TDOT! culture or whatever the fuck it is).

Shit like this is why Canada is a lost cause: on the one hand, you have the liberals who in 11 years of power have done nothing but import millions of undesirables that do nothing but weaken the societal cohesion that the majority white state enjoyed for nearly 150 years regardless of what policies were implemented, and on the other you have a desperate conservative party that has allowed themselves to be replaced by said undesireables because the state funded media 10 years ago said the party was "too white".

And i'm supposed to want to fight for this "country" if/when the US invades? No thanks.
