Here's fucking Tommy Prince, probably one of the greatest Canadian soldiers to ever live. I saw his display at the RMM many years ago and his big ass Bowie knife is still hanging on the wall. That knife's taken more German lives then alcoholism.

Prince's story is pretty sad, like many vets he struggled with returning to normal life and fell into the chug trap of alcoholism and died unknown and penniless. When the Commandant of the CAF was informed of his death he was horrified to learn that Prince had hocked his medals, even the one handed to him by Queen Elizabeth herself after his stunt at Anzio. It took years to recover them all and the Commandant disbanded and stuck the colors of the RCL unit that turned Prince away just because he was a Native. Sad end for such a soldier.

How about Valour Road? I'm 100% sure they don't teach that in school anymore.

He used to creep into the German barracks at night, through the wire and mines, past the sentries and kill 75% of them, leaving the few lucky one to wake up to a slaughter house and wonder why they were spared. Imagine waking up with most of your unit butchered in their sleep and not knowing how or why or even why you still live....no wonder the Krauts bolted.

What earned him the MM was him climbing up the cliff face at Anzio, by himself, at night, and killing all the machine gun teams who were over looking the path (with just his silenced pistol and his knife mind you) to the top so the regular forces could storm it. Just try to imagine doing something like that yourself...it boggles the mind.

It was Monte Majo where he climbed the cliff and started shanking Germans. He was part of Joint Task Force 1, The Devil's Brigade and they were all crazy. It was the first Special Operations Unit. They were all nuts.

Also something I've noticed about many Canadians is that they genuinely get mad if you think about moving to the USA or even Europe. The only other countries with people like this are dictatorships but even then, not too this extent. I know why they do this, because it insinuates that Canada isn't perfect, and we cannot allow that! I've also seen people who call those who immigrate to the US in particular words like "trash" and "garbage" despite the skills needed to immigrate to America (also nice dehumanization right there).

Paris and its suburbs became a multicultural cesspit but the rest of France is overwhelmingly White, the quality of life is not that different from Canada at this point. You can say the same for Spain, and Italy. Despite the headlines, French, Spanish, and Italian citizenship are difficult to get and their languages filter out migrants far more than English.

Also not to mention these countries have far-right parties in politics, France is closest to having a far-right government ironically enough.

Scandinavia meanwhile for the most part remains largely unspoilt except for Sweden's mishap.

Part of the reason the world is so crap today is because idiots (the majority of the population) have forgotten that there's a distinction between the real world and the virtual world. Think about how stupid the average Canadian is, and realize that half of them are stupider than that.

Twitter isn't a bastion of free speech. It's a corporate shithole that's designed to keep any real change from happening because people prefer getting likes and retweets instead of actually doing stuff in the real world that would improve their situation. They've been conditioned to prefer 0s and 1s, not to mention the amount of astroturfing, honeypots, and other government-led interventions.

VPNs exist, and in most countries that have some sort of internet ban, they're tolerated by the government because it's too much of a hassle to enforce the ban. The benefit is that only the people that have enough brains, and enough means, to install and operate a VPN can access the wider internet. If there was a block in India, for example, imagine how nice the internet would become? Most Indians are too broke to afford the $20/month for a decent VPN.

I'm aware that this is an unpopular opinion. I really believe that the average person isn't capable of responsibly using the tool that is the internet, and I think they ruin it for the rest of us that are capable. I don't know if any of you remember what the world wide web looked like pre-Web2.0, but it was a lot better than what we have now. Social media is a curse of the highest caliber and the sooner that it's completely wiped out, the better.

A lot of Westerners have been conditioned since birth to believe that developing countries are hellholes, or that the people are intrinsicly evil in some way, but a lot of them are just normal places that are a bit behind on development in certain areas.

I know that a lot of older people choose to emigrate to Panama because Panama has a special visa for retired persons. If you have more a pension of >US$1000/month and (IIRC) and are above the age of 55 or 60, you can apply for the Panama retiree visa. Retirees get a wide range of benefits in Panama, like huge discounts on public transport, entertainment, airfare, etc., plus the COL if cheaper than developed countries, the weather is nice, and the people are friendly.
