No way the US annexes Toronto. That's like getting an extra LA but jeets instead of beaners. My money is on everything west of Ontario dipping out to join the US, Quebec peeling off the maritime provinces once Alberta bails, and Ontario sticking around as a shitty liberal hellscape in perpetuity because the US decides to keep it around as a rump state (no pun intended) for dissident liberals whose entire identity is not being American.

I think a lot of Westerners really underestimate the level of corruption in their countries. Most Westerners can't bring themselves to even call it corruption.

Prior to my emigration, I was met with a deluge of rude comments that verged on insane ramblings whenever I brought up my plan to leave. I was actually at one point referred to as a "communist agitator."

I think for me the existence of "starlight tours" and bank account freezing is among the most unsettling in terms of our corruption. Most of the starlight tours incidents have been aboriginals but the thought of the police grabbing someone and disappearing them deep in a rural area at night is disturbing. I feel very much the same way about the COVID protesters bank accounts being frozen.

It just proves we don't stand a chance.

Part of it is the lack of identity. Most nations of have some idea of who they are to fall back on. The USA being the USA, Mexico is either the legacy of the Aztecs, or the sons of the conquistadors depending on the decade. Europe has the various European national identities. Canada has being not American.

We consume American media, American news and repeat the opinions of Americans. Despite that we call ourselves not American. However, these days that just makes you a Democrat.

The reasons to stay, friends, family, community and culture have been all eroded by the Liberal government. A post national state is an admission that the state is illegitimate and not representing the interests of the nation. We saw this for a decade where the state represented its own interests over the interests of Canadians. Its led to us being atomized, most of us travelling across the country for work.

Our history is now we caused a mega-holocaust because the state made little native kids go to school. They change our anthem, one of the symbols of the country to imply we don't belong here. We apologize with a land acknowledgement, further cementing the status of the people who built the nation don't belong here. While also importing millions of jeets and the second they step a foot on Canadian soil, the state screams that they are just as Canadian as you and I. In fact they bend over backwards to keep the worst of them in the country, because deportation is mean.

We are an intellectual, economic, cultural and political backwater. It's cold all the time, everything is expensive and the state is outright hostile to the people. Why would you stay?

I remember in school growing up, the brainwashing of ''Our identity is that we're a mosaic of all the other cultures we've welcomed. Isn't that wonderful?'' I'm sure that's still being pushed despite the obvious failure of it.

I literally can’t afford to leave. This debt trap we call a country makes that harder and harder as the years go by if you don’t already have the means to do so.

Honestly I’m just waiting until Jersh blocks Leaf IP from the Farms, but thankfully the Leaf ability to force him to do fuck all is nonexistent.
