The people hired at massive salaries to run the program got bank, the "advisors" and "contractors" hired by friends and family made bank and the companies involved in shipping the guns to the program site and then to the furnace also made bank.

The program ended up paying out only about 1/3 of what was promised to the gun owners so where the did rest of the money go? No where that's where. Stop asking questions before you hit hate-speech grounds serf.

Canada is incredible corrupt, but because everyone in power is involved in it no one dares to cover it if and even if something somehow leaks out, like say the Airbus scandal or SNC-Lavin events, or any of the thousands of other events all that we get a 5 second blurb on CBC after nothing happens to those who made bank.

In Canada if you want to be rich you don't start a company, you don't create a new product, you don't revolutionize an industry.

The whole "amerikkka bad" thing is used by most western countries to basically try and distract people from their own country's shortcomings and own government's authoritarianism and corruption. I mean, it DOES works on Canadian. (Not being america has been apart of Canadian identity since our founding but you know what I mean here).

Also something I've noticed about many Canadians is that they genuinely get mad if you think about moving to the USA or even Europe. The only other countries with people like this are dictatorships but even then, not too this extent. I know why they do this, because it insinuates that Canada isn't perfect, and we cannot allow that! I've also seen people who call those who immigrate to the US in particular words like "trash" and "garbage" despite the skills needed to immigrate to America (also nice dehumanization right there).

Canadians consider Americans to be trash, number one. Number two, It's much like how Cubans refer to their countrymen who flee the warmth of collectivism "gusanos" (worms).

People judge you for even going on trips to the USA, I mentioned wanting to take a road trip to see the national parks and I got lines ranging from "its an actual dictatorship" to "I would like to go when they stop murdering trans people". For boomers I avoid mentioning the USA completely and yet Trump and the USA and their government are always brought up, they are completely deranged when it comes to the USA and Trump after a decade of constant propaganda to distract from this country's failures.

I wish even a tiny fraction of that anger was directed towards this country's government that has made things dramatically worse in the last 10 years. Tariffs don't mean anything at all compared to waking up one day after the covid lockdowns and seeing half the population is now from India, and that the quality of life is now noticably worse. If you bring up things like the trucker protests and all of the corruption and theft from the government, plus the authoritarian things they keep pushing through, you just get a blank stare or they bring up America again, or say that they are doing better than the Conservative party would be doing now. After seeing this with so many people I am convinced that the propaganda from the media works extremely well, I don't even have a TV but just from being in restaurants, gyms constantly playing the news, the radio in stores I know these ideas are getting into peoples heads and its fucked up and unavoidable and I don't know how you can undo that damage. That is without even taking into account the education system, universities, and social media where the same shit is constantly pushed and reinforced in people's heads.

It isn't even HIS policies that fucked us all, it was his father's reign that destroyed Canada.

Pierre Trudeau was a Marxist piece of shit who engineered our constitution to enshrine his policies and beliefs in a manner that he engineered to be impossible to undo. There is no saving Canada, there never was once that constitution was given Royal Assent.

Every Canadian should actually study our constitution, and then weep. Any constitution so bad that one province wouldn't ratify it without a mechanism to opt out of it, and another one NEVER did ratify it should not stand as a foundational document.

It's wild talking to people these days. It's like they live on another planet. I had some boomer ranting about Trump and how he wants to take over CNN and controlling media is the first thing dictators do. I then asked him about the CBC and Canadian Government subsidies to media outlets. All I got in return is "that's different." Canada is sadly destined for the dustbin of history. A failed nation that's fall was cheered on by its people. With an epitaph that reads "At least I wasn't American."

Apart of the reason why they don't bring up the nation's problems is that, doing so will force them to admit that Canada isn't perfect, and we can't have that! It's just the USA/sometimes even the ENTIRE WORLD being jealous of how progressive we are.

I remember that during the Jays vs Dodgers, nearly HALF of all Canadians tooned into the game at one point or another. Even though many of my friends cared about it, I couldn't bring myself to care that much about it. It was honestly frustrating to see people care more about baseball (not even Canada's National sport) over actual issues that DIRECTLY affect them on a daily basis. Especially when they sung the "our home on native land" version of the anthem. I told my injun friend about the lyric change, and he was like "that's so fucking dumb." I know I sound like a Grinch right here, but you get what I mean.

The whole part about the "conservatives wouldn't have done better" is something I've seen frequently even among people who are anti-liberal. Sure the cons are far from perfect, but they're voting for a party that THEY KNOW won't solve any of the country's issues. The same party that's basically on the same level as the pre-2024 UK Tories when it comes to being ultra-establishment.

They're not going to get that pipeline regardless. If a proposal is not tied up in court cases from every chug and prog group under the sun it will be stonewalled and kicked down the road by the BC NDP all the while the Libs refuse to get involved. Eby wouldn't be half-heartedly suggesting a publicly funded refinery "near the source of oil extraction" if there was any shot at seeing a pipeline within the next decade. Elbows up indeed :story:
 
I sure do wish we had a functioning CRA website that tracked your TFSA room accurately instead of telling me I have X contribution room for 2026 when in reality it only updates once a year if you are lucky.
Now I have to call them or some gay shit and ask for clemency or just spread my cheeks and get fucked on 1% because I'm a retarded Canadian who didn't keep an excel spreadsheet of every time I contributed and withdrew since I was 18 and ended up putting too much in yesterday. I'm such a retard for thinking it updated January 2nd when you get more contribution room. If only we weren't a third world shithole we could have computers that could actually track how much you are allowed to put in a registered account more than once a fucking year.

Had most of it locked in GICs so I had to liquidate an mutual fund I didn't want to cash out to get back to my limit award btw.

Oh yeah no they don't do the calculations for a long time. They let me know just before Christmas that I filed my taxes a day before a really late form came it and so I owed a bunch of money

So America removes Maduro from power in Venezuela for his connections to drug trafficking, oppression of the locals, and ties to China and Russia via oil, but the Canadian government thinks engaging in the one thing that would trigger a military response from America is a bright idea? Does the arrogance of Canada's "leaders" know no bounds? Do they not realize Venezuela was better positioned in terms of equipment and geography to resist America than Canada could ever hope to be? There is asking for war, and then there is this. The arrogance doesn't even begin to reach or capture the presumption on display here. North America is the US hemisphere, not China's and definitely not Canada's.

This is why I look at my fellow Canadians with a cold, silent fury and why see this nation as completely irredeemable. Humans aren't known for their self-regulation, but 2025 showed me that the vast majority of people in this country are incapable of it. They would be willing to completely drench themselves in gasoline and light a match to spite a man who doesn't even spare them a second thought.

It was gotten to point where some retarded Boomer in Ontario mentioned how her septuagenarian husband's curling team planned on taking shots the Yanks if they invaded. My thoughts? Good. This country needs a good culling as it was their greed and stupidity that brought us here.
