I love articles like this because they show how far the window has shifted. You peruse r/Canada and it's wall to wall hatred of these places will consistent calls to tighten restrictions further any time such a piece pops up. Quite humorous seeing the average Redditor effectively moving in lockstep with the chuds on this issue.
Libs and Cons both are in for a very fun year because the anti-immigration noise isn't going to go away, especially as the economy continues falling apart.

They’ll just do what they always do and ignore it. Canadian Politicians are fairly good at ignoring anything outside of Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal, as long as there isn’t mass protest breaking out there it’ll just stay business as usual.
To say nothing about how I doubt Carney wants to be the one to pull the pin on that particular grenade (ie. just how much of the Canadian Economy and Social Services) are propped up by exploiting new immigrants. At least not until he and his cronies have looted everything that’s not nailed down.

Canadians have wondered how the scale of “temporary” foreign workers has skyrocketed in recent years. Here, we’ll try to answer at least some of it, using an interesting case.

is a company that boasts of “$40 billion in annual system-wide sales and over 30,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries”. It owns:
It should surprise no one that corporations lobby governments all the time to change laws that suit their needs. This is no different. However, we can at least track official communications, and see what they’ve been talking about.
Louis-Alexandre Lanthier, a consultant with PAA Public Affairs Advisors, is a former campaign manager for Justin Trudeau. Yes, this is the sitting Prime Minister.
In their “services” section, PAA lists the following:
As an aside, this isn’t unique to Liberals. Lobbying firms reach out to politicians of all stripes. What this means is that even when there’s a change in administration, there’s still a lobbyist who can reach out. Voting Conservative won’t save you.

Interestingly, lobbyists also pushed Ottawa for bailout money, such as CEWS, or the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy. Now, while they get extra tax breaks from Canada, they push for changes to replace them from the workforce.
The Lobbying Registry is a gold mine of information, and it lends real insight as to who is pulling the strings of politicians. There are Provincial ones as well.

According to the Lobbying Registry, his primary goal appears to be foreign worker permits and immigration issues. In other words, flood Canada with cheaper labour in order to drive down wages and increase profits.
Andrew Teliszewsky is another one with RBI Inc., though his listed areas of concern had to do with income taxation and interest deductibility. His LinkedIn profile states that he held several Government roles in Ontario, including when Dalton McGuinty was Premier.
Éric Lamoureux is yet another one of the lobbyists. But something more interesting about him is his role in lobbying Quebec to lean on Ottawa to cut SNC Lavalin a break over corruption charges. Though he’s apparently no longer with PAA, the archived version is still there.
Based in Montréal, Éric draws on deep expertise in politics and public administration to help clients protect and promote their interests in Canada and Québec. As a specialist in issues management, regulatory affairs, stakeholder relations and media relations, Éric has achieved many notable successes on behalf of his clients, including: helping a global financial services company safeguard its market position in the face of regulatory change; mobilizing the support of a provincial government to pressure for changes to the federal Criminal Code on a client’s behalf; and encourage a major Canadian municipal government to reverse a decision to construct a public building beside a client facility.

See the problem with you is that you're making assumptions about people you don't actually fucking know personally, I am just a random stranger online?! Lol.
I became right-leaning after learning liberalism itself, and realising it was not compatible with my own perceptions and values. That is real honesty.
The honest, factual, truth is that leftist ideology stems from primarily two origins, Christian communitarian monastic life, and the French Revolutionary forces. The problem with the modern left today is that the majority are not at all guided by Christian morality and traditions, which means that their ideas stem from the French Revolutionary idea of destroying hierarchies and traditions.
That doesn't mean there aren't left-leaning people who don't want to preserve traditions, its just that the majority of them are not.
The Liberal Party since at least Pierre Trudeau hasn't been a defender of traditions, rather, they are destroyers of Canadian historical identity since the Multicultural Policy Act 1971 was passed under Trudeau himself.
You come here claiming I am not honest with my own self when learning the truth of each ideology and recognizing where my values align is the most honest way of understanding one's own perceptions and worldviews.
And fundementally this is not an economic argument, but a cultural one, a society ruled by some idealistic worldview based on an abstract concept of rationalism that is liberalism, or a worldview which is guided and tempered by traditions that is reactionary.

I'm still fuming over the time I wanted to treat my siblings so I brought them to a random pizza place in the area, and the jeetette at the cashier gave us our slices with the same disgusting brown hands that I saw her handling money with just before I asked for my order. We still ate it, after bring it home and promptly scorching it in the oven. Nowadays it's always a gamble of whether or not your servers will be white or not and eating in public has had all the fun sucked out of it, thanks motherfuckers.

I was curious about the Alberta petition to leave and turns out it was approved a week ago and will start collecting signatures as early as this weekend
I'm definitely going to sign it as soon as I can, it would be hilarious if it met its goal 10x faster then the remain Canada petition

Rainbows on this one, and that's with the lower signature count requirement. They will meet it, but most of the support will come from rural and suburban/commuter communities and those won't be canvassed all too quickly.
Also suspect this referendum petition will prove moot since the running expectation is Smith will require a plebiscite on Lukaszuk's own petition which then forces a public vote anyway. Hilariously ironic a pro-Canadian petition will trigger Alberta's first independence vote.
