The cherry on top of that is those same people are lecturing Poilievre on taking responsibility for two MPs crossing (their reasons for doing so are essentially from Liberal Party talking points) and one resigning. It amazes me to watch how hypocritical Canadians are at their very core. 2025 revealed how crass, vulgar, and downright obnoxious Canadian nationalism is. For as much as Canadians hate Trump they are often more vile and hateful than they accuse the orange man of being. Worse yet is how they wrap it in a veil of decorum to present themselves as respectable.

After some serious introspection this past week, I no longer see being Canadian as a core part of my identity and see things like a passport as more of necessity than anything else. I would rather live my life by my values than those of some midwits from out east.

What still gets me is that the establishment is just so desperate to get rid of him by any means nessecary, even after the propaganda campaigns against him, even after losing the last election, the conservatives and liberals are still so close to one another. Not only that, but I still remember how the media was spinning when Scheer and O'Fool left "The conservatives have had 4 leaders in 10 years" and no doubt they'll do the same thing again after Poilievre leaves and the cattle will just consume that narrative uncritically as always

Canada doesn't have swing voters like the USA, do you really think that people who would vote liberal if a Canadian sports team wins would ever vote conservative? Moderates don't really exist in Canada unfortunately, cuz moderates by Canadian standards just means liberal but with one, maybe two differences from the mainstream liberals, which is enough to consider them compromised by liberal standards but doesn't mean they would change their mind on many issues.

That's wrong we do have swing voters that primarily vote on economics hence why you have the swing from CPC to LPC every decade or so, plus the fact that Ontario always votes federally the opposite of what they vote provincially.

The how important is meat in your diet is misleading.

Its kind of like redditbrain. Do we need as much meat as we consume on a daily basis here in Canada? Frankly, no; and it isnt really healthy for us.

c) Its indicative of greater issues. If even foods price is skyrocketing, an essential, everythings price is skyrocketing. Meat is just one representative of the issue. Have they even talked about how the price of even ramen has inflated, rice, vegetables, etc? Will they have a series on "how much do we really need to eat?" (dont answer that, they certainly will and accuse us of being fat).

Its all just misdirection. "Why yes, we dont need to eat as much meat, so everything is fine, based 4d chess, based liberal party, this is all a part of the plan"

d) We produce meat for export. We literally have so much meat we have to sell some of it to other people. How are prices rising on a commodity that is not scarce? Why, in an ocean of meat, are we so thirsty?

Honestly fair enough, I did need this reality check. I've honestly been focusing too much on following politics, and sure the shitshow has been fun to watch, but it doesn't do well for my mental health. Yeah thinking about it, I'd probably be criticizing the USA, or any other country I'd hypothetically lived in, grass isn't always greener on the other side after all. I'll take a break from keeping up with politics and the thread cuz it's causing me to say dumb shit (I'll only come back in the near future if something truly crazy happens), No matter how much shit goes on in this country, I can still have fun doing things like hanging out with irl friends despite everything. This might have not been your intention; you might've meant this as a one off, but think you again for this reminder of focusing on things outside of political shit.
