This is basic Geopolitics 101, it's called Balance of Power.

The three Great Powers, the USA, Russia, and China, are never going to allow lesser countries to bully them, instead they'll work together.

I was re-watching the 1984 movie and it reminded me of Canada a lot. A big part of Oceania's ideology is that their propaganda makes the people there genuinely believe in the government, just like Canada. We honestly do have pretty advanced propaganda, other western country doesn't have this good of propaganda either, for example, American propaganda is pretty bad if their own allies shit on them constantly. Even in countries like China, you might get into trouble or be threatened by police, which definitely gets people to stop criticizing the government, but only so they don't get punished or beat up, while many Cucknadians genuinely believe that they're fed.

Unfortunately the majority of Canadians still don't understand that what makes a Western nation admirable is its Western people, and Western culture.

Canada is openly and actively supporting the destruction of its Western identity because it wants more cheap labour from India and Africa.

There are differences of opinion... how much of Hong Kong's wealth was stashed in BC before China took it back is unclear but enough to buy the entire province and a good chunk of Toronto at the very least. The CCP is likely interested in reclaiming that HK wealth and taking the rest while they are at it including the government. But not to the extent that America takes notice. Transatlantic crime is actually a great cover.

That somewhat controversial video the dude put out did nail some parts of it. Canadians are elitist despite being the most un-elite, unsavvy and unelightened people in the hemisphere. Canadians think they have elite institutions and the more they support the ineptitude and corruption with even more unchecked power, the more elite Canadians think they will become too by being a part of the system like a cult style feedback loop.

Really the elitism is Carney's only appeal since he has no other bona fides. He hasn't exactly managed Canada into the boomer fantasy corporate turnaround that was implied, quite the opposite. Half a year and the outlook looks worse and worse by the day, Canada just took another credit downgrade of course courtesy of Mr. Brookfield's new budget and a lot of the dominos haven't even started to fall yet.
