Meh I don't think the elites will let the chug take back the land

True, they are all woke devotees but that's only right up to the point it costs them something personally. If some of the chugs think a retarded BC court ruling will hand them back "the land of our ancestors" then they're more stupid then I would have ever guessed,

So they got back a tiny piece of land and will fuck over some small fish, nobody YTs, if they try that stunt again in a more wealthy part of BC they will be told to fuck off by the elites.

Land Acknowledgements is one thing, giving actual power and wealth back is a whole other story.

Big rainbow on this one, in part because the Laurentian elite have backed themselves into a corner on it. The Libs and NDP have favoured chug grievance industry for long enough that an entire generation of progs has grown up both internalizing it and realizing the profit to be had from it. The pandering is a lot like the Dems with illegal immigration and DEI: they bought into it as a means of maintaining power and are now waking up to the reality of their golem slipping the leash.

If the Supreme Court does squash this it will become a point of contention in the Lib and NDP conventions because some progtard will propose it and will have the backing necessary to make it a viable campaign plank - or fracture the respective party over it. If the Supreme Court doesn't squash it same thing, only now the ruling party has the choice of pissing off Quebec and the west (and breaking the country) or their prog base (and thus losing power when the left-wing vote splitting kicks in).

All of this too will be taking place alongside the wave of court cases pursuing additional land claims now that the door is open, and solidifying among the chugs that their claims are both valid and likely to be rewarded. I strongly suspect this crap will see violence before it's finished because some chug band in the meantime will go the length of occupying a land claim and dare the government to remove them. Will be very interesting (in the Chinese sense) seeing how Carney responds to an Oka Crisis 2: Homeowner Boogaloo event.

I don't think the FN realise how much the browns and black hordes simply do not give a fuck about them. Chang and Jeet will never care about Muh Treaty unless they can use it to browbeat Whitey. Once they get what they want, the FN will find themselves broker and poorer, if that's even possible.

Lol no. Most of the homeowners would gladly prostrate themselves before the FNs as long as the CBC was there to film it. None of our generation can afford a fucking house.

On that note, I looked up condos in my old quartier and holy fuck. My rent was ~1200 split in half when I lived there and now the same 2/1 in that area goes goes for ~600k. This is in Quebec which was historically cheap compared to the RoC. what in the blue fuck?

It can't happen Canada-wide because most of the land IS properly ceded through treaties. Chugs can win judgements if they prove the government has violated a treaty but they can't just take the land. BC just kept smokin' the bud and kicking the can down the road until eventually the tribe got enough money to hire a lawyer and go to court (the claim is also being contested by another tribe lol, so much for solidarity)

The Cow-chan tribe or whatever also stated flat-out they are after money related to the value of some industrial developments and not people's houses, which are absolutely worthless if they're sitting on unservicable, unsaleable land. However, the judge's ruling places Aboriginal rights above fee simple title which is why it's creating such a stir and why it's going to be appealed and argued all the way up to the Supreme Court.

case in counterpoint: former NDP leader Jagmeet Singh (real name Jimmy Dhaliwal). I know lots and lots of NDP (commie) Jeets. Hell, one of the student government jeets 34 years ago was full-on NDP. Such jeets tend to be 2nd or 3rd generation tho.
