Why exactly am I supposed to care about this Emu thing? The government ordering cullings over disease is normal and probably good if you want a safe meat industry.
Only really vegetarians can moralize about this.

Government overreach & excessive force

There's also the general worry around the creeping normalization of a seemingly relatively unnacountable government organization being granted pretty far reaching powers to preform CCP-esque land seizures, dictate RCMP protocol & preform massive animal purges so soon after Covid, especially considering Canada's 'natural' gravitation towards authoritarianism


To layout the general situations, the Ostriches hadn't shown any sign of illness for the better part of a year prior to the cull, CFIA refused to actually do any live testing (which is part of both their own & WHOA's protocols) & relied on the test results from 2 dead birds as the only justification while also threatening the farm with major fines if they tried to do any outside testing. Then there was the nature of the cull itself where they outright broke our animal rights law, & apparently the 'sharpshooter' they hired might've also used AR-15's/a similar type to actually preform the cull with (i.e. the terrifying "why would anyone ever need one of those for hunting?" guns Gary the terrorist is trying to justify his gun grab with)
Also we've recently found out they didn't even follow their own protocol for the recommended way to euhtanize large animals like ostriches (i.e. holding them down & injecting them, or asphyxiation tents), y'know not shooting them during the night & then beheading any they failed to kill in the morning


Honestly most people probably would've been much more accepting if CFIA had just tested a few of the live birds, but because they didn't, combined with the sheer lack of care they displayed in their 'quarantine measures' (only wearing PPE after the court allowed them to seize control of the pen while also not actually preforming any sanitization methods when sharing vehicles with RCMP, shutting down the cameras inside the farm, neglecting the animals, putting in place no fly zone of several thousand feet, etc), it comes off a lot more like they were trying to send a message via intimidation (ala Trucker protest)

There was also the the sheer amount of RCMP presence, they literally had massive lines of vans every shift change & a lot of their unproffesional behaviour (blowing kisses from inside their vehicle, intimidating a reporter, seizing control of a second nearby farm and harassing the family whenever they tried to even enter their house, which they're also still currently doing, etc) throughout the cull that's further lead credence to the idea

Fucking chickens don't live very long; they're usually slaughtered for meat when they're 9-12 WEEKS old. Most farm animals that are meat animals are slaughtered when relatively young. Pigs, Chickens, Turkeys, Beef, you name it.

Ostriches are a whole other kettle of fish. They can live 70 years. Many of the ostriches were over 30. While initially they had a meat business, they steered away from that in favor of research. The daughter grew up with these birds.

Now, you can argue that this was a necessary thing. And normally, I'd agree. But you see, several things have happened, that make everything SUPER ULTRA SUS.

- CFIA's regulations state all such birds (Ostriches) must be knocked out with tranquilizers before they are killed. THIS WAS NOT DONE.
-CFIA covered, turned off, or removed any of the farm's surveillance video cameras that they found.
- CFIA made a huge 'box canyon' out of hay bales and tried to prevent people from seeing what was going on. Fortunately some people had REALLY good cameras and really good climbing skills and there's lots of trees there.
-The ostriches were gunned down AT NIGHT. I'm pretty sure fucking pitlamping is illegal. Many were left suffering until morning where they 'finished them off' with more gunshots.
- prior to the cull, when CFIA first arrived, the RCMP's drones spooked ostriches into running right through fences. One ostrich, "Spirit", was so badly injured that she needed care, but the CFIA only pretended to care for her and let her die from negligence as she could not drink without assistance because of her injuries. This is a clear case of animal cruelty, I don't care if it's supposed to die at some point, you don't do shit like that.
- The RCMP have been harassing people, trying to goad them into reacting. They flew their drones over some guy's house and turned the floodlights on, ALL NIGHT, and harassed people who were trying to come and go from their own unrelated farm that the RCMP had seized for "logistical purposes".
- When the ostriches were finished off, and then loaded into Super Save Dumpster Containers, some of the individuals were seen NOT wearing hazmat/PPE gear.
- The dumpster bins LEAK. They were not secure, not lined with any material to prevent leakage, not fit for Biohazard duty, and when the trucks went down the road they were leaking ostrich blood and fluids all over the damn place, from Edgewood BC all the way to fucking SURREY, BC. where the Super Save (Gas) Headquarters are at. That's a 550 km trip that would take over 6 hours. The trucks were clearly overloaded and did not report to Scales (for weighing loads on semi trucks). If they were so concerned about spreading level 5 Bird Flu, why wasn't the containment secure?
- someone found the bins at the Super Save lot in Surrey and they can smell fucking dead ostrich FROM THE ROAD.
- there is a theory that the government is going to have Super Save dump the ostriches, bins and all, into the ocean. It's not beyond the realm of possibility. All they need is a permit for it and you can bet the Liberals will grant it. (Trump needs Seal Team Six to get the tissue samples then, if they do that!)
- CFIA stole all the eggs. Those eggs are used in antibody research. I have to wonder if Big Pharma has a hand in this.
- The Fucking RCMP were mocking the grief of the farmers and being utter douche canoes after the shift change that happened after the slaughter.
- the Supreme Court ordered the farmers to pay CFIA's court costs. What the FUCK? It's like, how DARE you object, here, let's make an example of you. As Moviebob's senpais are so fond of quipping (usually in reference to the alleged sociopathy from MAGAnaiseghoulen) "The Cruelty IS the point".

"The melting pot" that every kid was taught in grade school is one of the worst sins. Literally nowhere does importing massamounts of anyone lead to "combining of cultures and holding hands" unless they're FORCIBLY integrated. At best you end up with little pockets of "little italy" and "little iran" where they all stay to themselves and make mini versions of their own countries inside yours. At worse, Canada and Europe where the native (TITLE WHITES!!!) gradually have their culture and their ways and their country degraded and consumed into at best one homogenized shithole, at worst multiple-competing shitholes dragging everything down into complete garbage.

It has never worked in literally any country ever. If you don't force people to integrate, and force people to accept your ways, then eventually you will be forced into accepting THEIRS because they know they don't have to (and have made no effort) to mix with you and you were accepting of it, so once they outnumber or outpower you then you will be dragged down into the same shithole they ran from

You guys are overanalyzing the whole ostrich thing. As soon as MAGA Americans chimed in the fate of those birds was sealed. It was just as much a big fuck you to the United States as much as it was a government overreach. This from the so called country of "environmentalists" and "science".

I have always hated RCMP. Absolutely useless and always have been. They always are gleefully cruel to anyone and everyone they deal with. On top of being generally incompetent.

Not sure if it was Plato or Aristotle that said this, but one of the hallmarks of tyranny is the government bringing in foreigners to insulate and protest itself from the ever waning influence of the native population. I remember back during Covid normal everyday Canadians showing their "vaccine passports" to Jeet security guards just to sit down and have a meal in a mall food court.

I dunno man, CBC hasn't released as many articles on it as some other western outlets I've seen, but they feds/globalists have definitely been trying to ramp up psyoping the concept of 'hey, we need to be allowed to kill your pet for the environment/to stop the spread/eat ze bugs/etc etc' into the general populace ever since the coof

If you think these guys are bad, then wait until you see RCMP officers in rural area's. They get sent out there on 2 year stints, so they absolutely hate it and are so overzealous in a desperate bid to get recognised and set back to a city/large town. In the meantime they treat whatever community that has been cursed with their presence as their own personal fief (in the name of federal law, of course).

I caught PTSD and trench foot from both my grandfathers who served in WW2, especially the one who passed before I was born.

Yeah, I made that up as they were both miners so never served.

Instead I got dusty lung, Pneumoconiosis and all my pores are embedded with Carbon.

Learning more about how RCMP handle missing person's cases in Canada make me believe they are either one of the most incompetent police forces on earth or corrupt to the man.
 
The sheer amount of fuckery in the ostrich thing makes it downright Satanic, one thing is clear and it's that that operation was managed and carried out by people who are either evil freaks, or incompetent to the point of evil, but either way if I was one of those ostrich ranchers I'd be harboring a killdozer tier grudge for life

I grew up in small towns. I've dealt with them. OPP, town cops are all great. RCMP were always the worst.

A friend of mine dated the detachment commander's mid twenties daughter, when he was also in his mid-twenties. The Det Commander found out, went to his apartment and beat his ass with a baton. I had one live in my apartment building and would fire off a shotgun round every morning. They'd flick on their lights so they could run red lights. I was thrown down a flight of stairs by one. I and several of my friends were tossed in the drunk tank, while we were waiting for our cab to go home.
