We've fallen so far as a nation, and so quickly.
From a army that stood once fast a Ypres in the face of unprecedented gas warfare while fighting outnumbered 10 to 1 and somehow still holding fast in the face of the massed German attacks during WW1. The Newfoundland regiment was killed almost to a man (they suffered over 90% casualties during the battle), devastating the small island communities), But they held their ground until the very end and the Germans fell back. France felt so indebted to those soldiers they gifted Canada the ridge in that overlooks the battlefield (Vimy Ridge) in perpetuity out of respect and gratitude for such a sacrifice.
A army that made the Nazi's pale at the mere sight of our flag as Canadian solider stormed up the streets of Amsterdam routing the German's best unit (the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich). Who eventually were ground down to nothing under the constant attacks of the Canadian infantry who never gave up a single inch of ground despite near continual counter-attacks. And it was a crazy Canadian tank team who finally put an end to Whittman's panzer rampage near the end of the battle by driving their tank up to almost point blank range, while under fire by other panzers, and blew Whittmann's tank to pieces. To this day the Netherlands still sends Canada a million tulips each and every year in thanks for all those Canadian who gave their lives so that they could be free again.
A army that was so hard that the Jap's themselves put up a memorial in Hong Kong out of respect after the Canadian garrison fought to the last man (and
dog! Gander has his own name etched on the wall of honor in Ottawa) during the opening battle of the war.
Or how about the Chinks soldiers who rebelled rather then attack Hill 355 again in the Korean War. Where after a week of constant costly attacks the Canadian flag still flew over it. No matter how many human waves were thrown at them the Canadian forces held that hill despite everything the Chinks threw at them and it slopes were absolutely littered with Chinese dead.

Now we have some current year +7 DIE chick "general" CiC openly weeping on camera that we didn't DIE enough chugs and Jeets into the Forces and apologizing while begging for forgiveness from people who would only spit on you if they saw you walking by.
