Really the only two post graduate degrees that stay in the country are Teachers and Lawyers. Which suddenly makes a lot of sense about how we are in the position we are in.

Couple that with every sector of the Canadian government being old, every government worker is 50-60ish and finding new ways to remain in. The Military is letting the equivalent of E-4s and up stay in till they are 65.

Ontario auto lobby is the cause for dumb-dumb-Dougie to be in bed with the federal liberals and Carney while being at odds with PP and the federal conservatives. This was really accented during the election and this idiotic venture to insult Reagan likely originated from there too.

Well there is about to be no auto-lobby at all at the rate we are going. We were a cheap place to assemble cars, now literally everywhere else is cheaper. With tariff capture keeping manufacturing in Ontario(Not really opposed to those ones is he), companies can't take advantage of cheaper provinces to build in.

On another note, I listened to the full address from Reagan. It talked about Japan and unfair trade practices so tariffs were needed to achieve a sense of balance. They literally cut sentences in half to make Dumbass Dougie's ad. Like it is not 1993, the internet is real. We can look up what he actually said.

May be tangential but a lot of the young and Vance aged GOP Americans and even KFers have been hearing from smug Canadians and arguing with smug Canadians online and in person for the last 20-25 years. I think that plays into it a bit and this group very clearly wants to curb stomp Canada when they are not busy laughing at it. Say you own a logging operation in BC. You want to make furniture from the trees you cut down.

It is better for your business to send the wood east and have the manufacturing done in Ontario than make it in BC, because otherwise Ontario will put tariffs on the finished product, pricing you out of the biggest market in the country. This was to keep manufacturing, and the jobs that go with it, in the east to keep the population higher to ensure more seats in Parliament.


And if you think that was bad, until Harper abolished it, western Canadian wheat farmers were forced by law to sell their wheat to the Wheat Board of Canada, at a price the Board determined, by law. Ontario farmers could sell directly to whoever they wanted for whatever price they negotiated (usually much higher than the Board price!). This was done, again, to try to limit the economic power of the Prairies.
