Canada might be the only country where reddit is a good representation of the actual country.

Also unpopular opinion, I do think that most American leftists, unless they're like full on socialists or communists would hate Canada if they actually lived here. America left is fine with higher taxes IF they got GOOD social services, which Canada simply doesn't have. Also Even many left-wingers in America still enjoy owning guns and fireworks (urban California still had people shoot fireworks during COVID mandates).

Something I noticed about Canada in general when it comes to it's relationship with the USA is that they want to both have their cake and eat it too. They want to benefit from not worrying about military so they can focus on social services, while at the same time, talk about how much better liberal progressive Canada is compared to evil fascist Amerikkka.

The threat of the ass-blasted American leftist moving to Canada falls apart once they get here. They realize it's cold, that Canadians are unfriendly and stuck up and everything is more expensive and worse. I know a few Americans who have had to live in Canada for short periods of time and they all uniformly hated it. On the flip side I know Canadians who have lived in the US for short periods and all pine to return.

Conservative Americans who come to Alberta end up loving it here. A fair few Oil and Gas people have even relocated here from Texas in the last couple of decades because of shared values, but less crime and violence.

The Ontario Court of Justice heard Aswin V. Sajeevan, an Indian citizen here on a student visa, lived with 11 other people at a home in Barrie. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to four counts of voyeurism, which the judge considered a mitigating factor in his case.

“I accept, and have considered, that there may be serious collateral immigration consequences for Mr. Sajeevan because of his criminal conduct,” said Justice Craig A. Brannagan.

The judge found “that the fit and appropriate range of sentence for this offender on the facts of this case for the four offences pleaded to would be between” six months and a year in custody.

But Brannagan sentenced Sajeevan recently to 5.5 months in jail after considering what both the Crown and Sajeevan’s lawyer termed “the potential for immigration consequences.”

My only experience with jeets is them being my coworkers when i was a security guard and they seemed chill minus the time the owner of a event hall got mad at me because 2 of them were letting people out of the beer garden with drinks despite being stationed at the front entrance.
