The article literally explains how untrustworthy the poll is in the first 14 words of that picture
"We know our poll methodology is dogshit and has no meaningful weight, but this is what the country believes."

I had a talk with an old White Boomer Canadian woman the other day, she kept insisting that we need more immigrants because we're not having babies.
It's the same shitty argument they have for the ponzi scheme social security. They decided not to have enough kids and were selfish for themselves, all for the sake of their retirement portfilios and social security payouts. "We can't retire properly with millions of dollars for ourselves! Let's import third world problems for our children to deal with and let's also not leave them anything for inheritance!"

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the boomers decide to sell off all their houses to banks and not leave them for their children. I think I read in this thread previously that's what Canadian boomers are doing already.

That, and also multiculturalism is a big problem.

Canada has a rich heritage which is a blend of British North America, New France, and Indigenous, which has been terribly overlooked in favour of multiculturalism.

The average Canadian these days can't even describe what is traditional Canadian culture, not when multiculturalism is shoved up their orifices. It's not just "hockey" and "maple syrup." The loss of our Georgian and Victorian landscapes due to neglect, corporate greed, and multicultural policies means the average Canadian don't know any better.

When people don't have a visible, tangible, places and buildings that connect them to our heritage, history, and with it identity, is merely preserved in textbooks, not in reality.

And forget about most immigrants, their basic understanding of Canada begins with universal healthcare and ends with multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism is the virus that is enabling our mass migration policies and ravaging our historic identity into a multicultural economic zone because Ottawa wants to be relevant in the global stage. Why can't we just be content on being America's quiet hat? We could have been a sort of Arctic Switzerland.

Don't forget the CBC and Canada burning down the white house! (despite the fact Canada technically didn't even exist during the war of 1812).

Canada has a really weird obsession with boomers. I remember when Charlie Kirk got assassinated, Canadian media made a big deal about a Canadian boomer that got mistaken as the shooter's accomplice (another boomer)

Canada existed as a former French colony under new management as a British dominion at the time, but that's besides the point, the White House today is an architectural marvel, and Abraham Lincoln is rightfully deified, his place in American culture and history sanctified.

By comparison, Rideau Hall is an unremarkable landmark and most Canadians don't even know who John Graves Simcoe was, general of the War of 1812 and the founding father of Ontario, and most Canadians don't even know where he is buried, he's buried in a chapel in Devon, England that is owned and paid for by Canadian taxes, but Canadians don't even know it exists.

Suffice to say, Americans have a core identity built on the Mayflower, the American Revolution, and later Hollywood, meanwhile Canadians identify with healthcare and multiculturalism.

Make no mistake, Canada is known worldwide, but mainly due to Canadians in Hollywood, and heavy propaganda to attract migrants with legs wide opened.

The arrogance of Canadians these days is built on the foundations of a healthcare system that is, as per physicians association quote, on the verge of collapse, in a crisis, with 6.5 million Canadians without a family doctor.

America's non-existent healthcare system is compensated by its enormous economic, military, and cultural hegemony over the rest of the world.

I presume then Nathalie Prevost is happy now about the unintended consequences of gun control?

There has never been a positive outcome when the government sets out to disarm the people. Authoritarian states are the inevitable result. Certain semi-automatic weapons were prohibited in March 2025, with a one-year amnesty period for lawful gun owners to surrender their rifles through a buyback program. The government claims the buyback program is completely voluntary “with the expectation they will comply,” according to Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree.

Anandasangaree does not believe the Canadian government is equipped to disarm citizens, as revealed in a leaked audio clip. “I just don’t think municipal police services have the resources to do this,” the minister says. The minister claims a gun lobbyist leaked the audio in which he was speaking in jest. On the audio, the minister admits that gun owners are clearly losing money with a C$400 flat rate compensation for each gun surrendered. The man asks if he would be considered a criminal for refusing to deactivate or surrender his guns. “If the police enforce it, yes,” the minister states.

Anandasangaree admits the program is flawed, but speaking with Mark Carney is a moot point. “We’ve had all these conversations. Like I’ve had for the last four months, it’s been like constant, constant discussions on this to see what’s next, right? And the conclusion is let’s finish this because we committed to it in the campaign,” he reveals, mentioning earlier in the call he is simply following orders.
It'll be soon December 6, when they'll shout "Remember Polytechnique", but what about the victims killed during the Quebec biker war?

Multiculturalism was brought in by Trudeau the First as part of his marxist philosophy, in an intentional effort to erase Canadian history and identity.

The liberal party's recruitment of Prevost is one of the most transparently shameless acts that they have ever done. Because now whenever they roll out any gun grab they can wheel her out and have her stand on the graves of her classmates while preaching that disarming the population is actually a good thing, and because canadian boomers and normies react uncritically to whatever policy as long as it's framed a certain way they'll get away with it forever.

Yeah and I miss the time when this is how Canada was pictured in the short movie "The Railrodder", the last movie starring Buster Keaton. Seeing that was once images of Canada in the movie, give me some watery eyes...

The more you reminisce about Canada's past, the sadder our present reality becomes.

This gun control thing is going to be a shit show. Knowing Canada a boring shit show but a shit show none the less.

Also I have a serious question. Does anyone really give a fuck about Quebec?

The country belongs to Shield Canadians. If you ethnicity is on the shield / a mix of those on the shield than you are Canadian
My ancestors were among the first to arrive in what is now Quebec. I am a mix of exclusively white races. I will be more Canadian than any of these browns could ever dream of being.

Just remember: when they demand your guns, it's because they want to do something that would otherwise cause you to shoot them.
The blessed fact is that as long as the US with a semi-secure 2nd Amendment borders Canada, a militia can be armed. The fact that the police are completely useless against illegal gang handguns is proof enough.

Ultimately the fact is that Canada was founded as a replacement colony for the Loyalists (the Quebecers in the 19th century were largely just ‘there’ and were mostly sated by the Catholic Church). It was not founded as a ‘New England’ that would repeat the mistakes of 1776, but rather as a recreation of the U.K. itself, flipped sideways. This extended into politics itself- a conservative consensus, like the U.K. of the time.

Ultimately the killing blow for Shield Canadian culture largely stems from the death of the larger British Empire and the shared ethnos that English Canadians felt with the other settler colonies and the homeland. After that- an attempt to reforge a new culture (new Canadian flag), but largely drifting into the US orbit.

They have to know that Right wingers and gun spergs are the biggest bloviators and will never use their guns?

I was just out trap shooting with some mates and their mates last weekend and there were some many jokes about "Boating accidents".
