I was in the area so I decided to stop by today's protest. Unfortunately everyone's predictions were correct. It looked like a total flop. Around 30 people were there, just kinda chilling with music and chatting with each other and waving around Canadian flags. Meanwhile on the other side of the park were a group of around 300 who were screaming "fascists go home."

Terrible planning from the start and I'm not sure what I else I would have expected.

The Second Sons/Diagolon crew are posting they're not surprised at the turnout. Time will tell if they will ever be able to pull anything off like in Australia.

Yeah, can confirm, I attended with a buddy. Honestly idfk. There was something like 300-ish of us while we marched, and about 200 counterprotesters, but I mean the cops kept everything under control. Mostly just marched, had some canadian flags, they did some "say his name" chant for charlie kirk, and that was about it honestly.

If there's one thing the protest today proved to me was that we live in a country of LITERAL CATTLE.

Nice to hear some after action reports from Christie Pits. I listened to most of Ferryman's Toll's Rumble stream about the protest where Alex just took glee in how much of a failure it was.

- Jeremy MacKenzie joined after a workout with the gun show. He gave an anecdote about how crushing it can be to try to organize your online audience to an IRL & fail. He mentioned his famous protest at the Omar Khadr/Romeo Dallaire event at Dalhousie just before COVID. He says he had 100 confirmed supporters online for the event but only 7 showed. Vriend & Harrison similarly talked about how embarrassing it was to organize & attend anti-COVID restriction rallies in 2021 with low turnout with only boomers & schizos.
- Daniel Tyrie & Fortissax joined them as guests, who are Dag-adjacent but not full members. Tyrie looked a little nervous & out of his element in promoting the Dominion Society, Jeremy & Alex threw some shade at him at one point when they mentioned that the SecondSons is elitist & not fot everyone (selective, young & fit extremist men, paramilitary structure), And that softer & more moderate voices should go join other lobbying orgs like DomSoc.
- It was apparently Fortissax' first appearance on Vriend's The Daily Toll show.
- MacKenzie implied that SecondSons is anxious for the day they encounter antifa face-to-face in mutual combat. He was indirect, but intimated that they have future intentions to be like the Proud Boys or Thomas Sewell's NSN in Australia in meeting force with force
- They played a clip where Christie Pits protest organizer PuckDaddy declared he was half-Jewish in response to antifa chants of being a fascist Nazi. It was also implied that Jew Daniel Bordman of the National Telegraph along with zioshills Wyatt Claypool & NatashaMontreal were involved with the protest organization & propagation.
- There was another part of the stream where MacKenzie called out Poilievre & the Conservatives as Zionist traitors that he would never ally with because he's already started his own paramilitary movement. I thought that was probably awkward for Tyrie of the DomSoc, considering the whole purpose of his new lobbying group is to increase public support for Remigration to work with the CPC to adopt these policies.
- The Dags claimed that the PuckDaddy organizer was so aloof that he chose the Christie Pits location completely oblivious to the antifa symbolism there a hundred years ago where they "punched Nazis" there at historic riot. The Dags claimed there are historic murals of the Christie Pit riots at the local TTC stop.
- They were very put off that the PuckDaddy protest were filmed slamming beers in the park. Ever since MacKenzie has gone sober & committed to working out since his incident drunk joking about raping Anaida Poilievre at a campfire post-convoy, he has had very open disdain for the follow-up Freedom movement protests having optics of slobs hanging out drinking in parking lots.
- Some of their main criticism is that current day Freedom protests are too ad lib, sloppy, disorganized, unimpressive, left-coded. They advocated for future RW marches to be more paramilitary, organized, literally fascist/Nazi themed in their orderliness with crisp uniforms & identical flags marching in unison, etc.
- They are very sensitive to the optics & criticism of the motley crew of different pant colours during the film of their Second Sons march at the Isaac Brock march ovet Labour Day weekend. They vow to never let it happen again. MacKenzie confirmed their attendance at their first national rally was about 70 members.

Alex Vriend talked a little bit about the comparison to the trucker protest & the Chrisite Pits one yesterday on stream.

His main argument was that organic, grassroots protests organized online by RW Canadian nobodies don't work.

His counterargument was that the convoy protest wasn't actually organic & grassroots, but propped up by the existing White trucker network able to get the word out via CB radios.

I don't personally find the trucker convoy reasoning that convincing. I think Vriend & the Dags have to twist & retcon their rhetoric re: the convoy because they've all become much more anti-Zionist over the last 3 years. And a lot of the heroes & leadership of the Freedom convoy aligned themselves with Ezra Levant, Rebel News and a lot of the civnat, CPC shill influencers in the years that followed. So the trucker convoy, which Diagolon was supportive of but also mostly tourists who weren't directly involved in the main leadership hierarachy, puts them in an awkward position as it was a much loved, historic event for the Canadian normie right but the Dags have drifted so far politically from the main players over the last 3 years that they have to maintain plausible deniability.

It went well in the sense that a general discipline was maintained despite being relatively decentralized while being also being quite large. No one was killed, nothing was burned down. The media had to invent things like the "vandalizing" the Terry Fox statue, the Confederate and Nazi flags, calling it an "occupation", etc. But this still worked to a large degree, polling was showing a majority of Canadians supported cracking down on the convoy with the war measures act. There was more sympathetic coverage internationally, the Financial Times had a piece criticizing the Trudeau government. Also, what it actually accomplished and it's legacy I think is hard to parse. The pandemic restrictions were already at that point starting to go away, I'd believe that the convoy accelerated that. As far I'm aware, all of the leaders have either fled the country, are awaiting sentencing or have been sued into oblivion.

No one has really seemed to capitalize or inherent it's legacy politically, PP kept the convoy at arms length and PPC lost a bunch of their voters this last election.

I understand this sentiment. I feel like there's been dozens of these types of things over the years, here and in other countries and none of them seemed to move the needle. Immigration has been curtailed slightly by the liberals only after shit has gotten so bad. There was no protests that made that happen. Maybe it's just going to take something else and maybe that something else is a bunch of dudes getting together to get fit and march around invoking Nazi imagery. This kind of stuff may get more palpable in another decade or two once all the boomers are gone.

I don't think I'd put money on them at this point, but they have piqued interest. Ferryman and Fortissax are completely right about the Conservative party, movement and broader right wing in Canada. It's flaccid and doesn't understand itself or the moment we are in.

Got hit by a major reality pill today as I touring short term rentals in a new small city that I might be moving to for a new job.
