Austerity may be a stretch': Carney's budget belt-tightening may come with record deficits

Get ready for a $100 Billion dollar defecit

Our children's children's children's children's children's children's will still be paying off the boomer debt at this rate.

The Federal debt load per citizen right now is already a whooping $57, 315 per person. Your kids will be born owing around 60K in debt taken out by the Federal Government to buy elections and pay off their donors and masters.

Enjoy serfdom saar! How much longer until Ottawa is nothing more the Calcutta 2.0? Filled to the brim with serfs from the untouchable class while the few elites live in luxury they dare not even dream about crushed by low wages and taxes necessary to pay off only the interest on how ever many trillions the Feds have borrowed on the back of the Canadian public drone.

Oh what a lovely future we have ahead of us. I can not wait for my family to toil in a factory to sustain their generational mortgage.

Software engineering? Try every form of STEM under the sun. Engineering in general for one in this country is fucked thanks to Jeets, with EIT positions as bad as entry-level junior devs. Reason in part is every Canadian engineering accredited university offers a Masters of Engineering program which is nothing more than a fast-track, course-based, engineering association approved program. Foreign students apply to it by the metric ton, universities happily take the tuition dollars and pass them all, and every job opening gets swamped by Jeets featuring an accredited engineering degree you cannot legally ignore. People look at Conestoga as the poster child but that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to foreign students in general.

Oh and all of that is before even getting into other grad programs. The sheer amount of nonsense happening with thesis-based Masters and PhD programs for the hard sciences is disgusting, especially once you consider these people are in line to take positions at government labs, clinics, hospitals, and university departments.
It’s the same with the Accounting profession and every university offering either a Masters program or a Graduate Diploma (semester long) program to fast track through the CPA process.

Good luck getting a job at the Big 4 or even now the smaller national sized firms like BDO, MNP and Grant Thornton if you are a White male.

I was in the area so I decided to stop by today's protest. Unfortunately everyone's predictions were correct. It looked like a total flop. Around 30 people were there, just kinda chilling with music and chatting with each other and waving around Canadian flags. Meanwhile on the other side of the park were a group of around 300 who were screaming "fascists go home." Quite a few Free Palestine flags which makes me wonder if they were confused as to what they showed up for. No Canadian flags. They had a cute slogan that read "Say No to Hate. Say Yes to Immigration." Okay. Many of them were wearing sunglasses, bandanas and keffiyehs. I was just walking through the crowd just looking around when an old white woman wearing a keffiyeh started screaming Nazi at me. I did not interact with them at all so I don't know what gives. The organizer was nowhere to be found, though after looking on Twitter just now I believe a majority of the protesters left the park and went... somewhere else, though I had no clue where which meant I unfortunately couldn't even rejoin them. I don't know how to feel really. It was... an event, certainly.

On one hand I feel disappointed, but on the other, it's Toronto. Who in their right mind would start something like this in Toronto, the liberal breeding ground of Ontario? Many of the anti-protesters likely only were a bus-ride away, while I sure bet those who actually bothered showing up live quite some time away from the rat infestation that is Toronto. Terrible planning from the start and I'm not sure what I else I would have expected. But pn the bright side, we now have lots of videos on Xitter of random leftists freaking out and trying to physically attack the protesters, which will do hopefully show maybe a few more people that they are insane lunatics.

Edit: After looking on Joe's twitter a little, the protest did seem to be more successful elsewhere, but once again I showed up around 40 minutes after they started and I had no clue where the fuck they went.

I don't have this problem (yet) since I don't work in those fields, does anyone ever just say fuck it and write themselves in as female or trans?

"Say not to hate, say yes low wages and high rent!". Nobody supports capitalism more than leftists.

The Second Sons/Diagolon crew are posting they're not surprised at the turnout. Time will tell if they will ever be able to pull anything off like in Australia.

Yeah, can confirm, I attended with a buddy. Honestly idfk. There was something like 300-ish of us while we marched, and about 200 counterprotesters, but I mean the cops kept everything under control. Mostly just marched, had some canadian flags, they did some "say his name" chant for charlie kirk, and that was about it honestly. No idea why they decided to do this in toronto though, considering the libshit hellhole it is. Probably would have had better luck in niagra or, heck, even hamilton.

Toronto is the belly of the beast. Canadians don't live there anymore, just jeets and geographically embarrassed blue state Americans. Even then everything is controlled media wise here that Canadians just don't see what is going on. The rest of the world does and those that pay attention do. But we have no oppositional media to take the status quo to task. To wake up the normie.

Yeah its only a matter of time before I jump ship to quebec or something. Man I despise my city.

Let's wait and see what will happen if there was a incident similar to what happened in Charlotte who might happen in Toronto. https://archive.ph/tLNu5
I know I'm way too optimistic but who knows?

While I can definitely see an incident like that occurring very soon at this rate, it's likely the outcome will be that some random innocent civilian will die, the media will cover it up, the only people who talk about it will be anyone even remotely right-leaning on X which means that it will be ignored completely by the public. If there's one thing the protest today proved to me was that we live in a country of LITERAL CATTLE.

On another note, I can't help but wonder if the decision to organize the protest in Toronto of all places was a piece of elaborate 4D chess, whether unintentional or not. Sure, the media brought very little attention to the protest itself, but rather instead we now have many, many clips being shared online of the counter-protesters acting like fucking lunatics, being arrested by the cops, etc. This being on top of the Charlie Kirk stuff, which is already turning many heads into agreeing on a common enemy. Could this potentially be the start to convincing more neutral, normal people in Canada that maybe there is a side they should be taking here? That maybe the liberals aren't our friends?

It's shit like this that makes me wonder if Canada is just a sick joke God's playing on humanity.

Remember the 1 Million march for children or however it was called? You can go and feel like you are protesting trannies, BUT only if you march with Muslims. It was organized by muzzies too.

they did some "say his name" chant for charlie kirk
Made me chuckle. Canadians are so obsessed with Americans that it's freaky.

Maybe instead of chanting an American political commenters name, they could have chanted the names of the children killed by Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, the immigrant that bribed his way through trucking school. Or maybe they could have chanted slogans that derided the role that the CEO of Conestoga College plays in the student-to-illegal-worker scheme. Or maybe they could have even focused on the youth unemployment rate, the rise in housing costs, and their relation to the surge in immigration numbers. I can't fault them for not touching on women's issues re: immigration, because the Canadian news media is so against reporting on this, to the point where one has to browse the Hindustani Times to find articles about it. But no, let's do a chant about the American guy - that totally won't derail the point of the protest, if there even was one to begin with anyway.

The problem with a lot of the political-minded people here in Canada is:
  1. Usually, they're terminally online. They are divorced from the reality of the place in which they live and only gleam it from their virtual interactions. They believe that because their posts can get likes or shares, that this would translate into an innate ability to organize a mass protest.
  2. As a consequence of their virtual lives, they can only perceive issues and understand them from a heavily Americanized viewpoint. They apply American political ideas and American sociocultural norms onto Canada, often to their own (or, their movement's) detriment.
It feels like any bozo thinks he can organize a rally or a movement nowadays, completely oblivious to the actual time, effort, and resources that go into planning one. This goes for both right-wing and left-wing bozos too: they both think whoever screams the loudest or has the most people is the "winner," when really there are no winners or losers in this sort of thing. Protests shouldn't have to be dramatic - they should focus on highlighting issues, sharing ideas, and convincing others of their importance. But, for a lot of these people, none of that matters: the only thing that matters to them is sticking it to "the man," because so many of them have untreated Oppositional Defiance Disorder.

P.S., I'm not talking about you specifically with my post Harbringer. I'm kinda annoyed on your behalf that you wasted a day at a protest that was so poorly organized and so unfocused.

Yeah, of all the things they chose to do that was probably the worst one. I expect nothing less though since the only reason people heard about this was from X, so naturally it brought in the xitter crowd. Then again, to your point on americanisation, remember Ben Colton and his show "Canada First"? (I literally dont expect anyone to remember this) The knock of canadian groyper america first? Well after seeing limited success in Canada, Ben decided to ditch canada first to become one of Nicholas Fuentes catboys in the states. Why? Well, american politics pays better, and if your in that deep, there probably is not any reason to stick around in Canada.

Yeah, I went for the memes I guess. It was funny though, since I wore a mask, I got a lot of "show your face nazi" and got to ragebait some troons and jeets, so the day was not a complete waste I suppose.
