Slightly incorrect. Japan's "far-right" government is going the Canada route by importing infinite pajeets and niggers. The backlash was so bad the prime minister had to resign. As far as I can tell, though, the plan is still in place.

There are certain specialists that just seem to be impossible to see in Canada for chronic issues. Dermatologists, Gynecologists, Ophthalmologists and Orthopedic Surgeons are the big ones I can think of.

I've actually gone to the U.S. just to be able to see a specialist without waiting months. I didn't regret it for a second. It was first-class service and only cost a few hundred bucks. I 100% recommend it if you have some weird-ass chronic issue and are on a crazy-long waiting list here in Canada. The U.S. doctor can also write a diagnosis that you can use to lobby your way up the waiting list here in Canada.

Also, it is worth noting if you are over 65 in the US you get Medicare, which is universal healthcare and better than our system.

The other thing burgers don't understand about Leaf Kafkaesque deathcare is that there is zero choice.

Don't like your family doc? Get fucked.
You don't get any say in which docs treat you at the hospital, does your elective surgery, provides you with a consultation, etc.

You also don't really get the opportunity to shop around & compare & contrast hospitals like Yanks do. You'll just suffer in whatever is geographically closest.

Some of the bottleneck to see specialists is the fact that governments ration care specifically by severally limiting residency training slots. There are a lot more medical student candidates who would love to train to do a specialty than there are spots.

It's also a little unnerving to think that your family doc or ER doc or anesthesiologist is living a disgruntled existence because they worked so hard then ended up getting rejected for their 1st specialty choice, doomed to spend their careers slaving away at their 2nd. Or 3rd.

For some specialties like Derm or Plastic Surgery, public wait times get ridiculous because the government fees are so shit that the specialist docs instead do as much private Botox & cosmetic work as possible.

  • immigration
  • natural disasters
  • fluff pieces about foreign aid
There's been a comedian performing in clubs here, he's from England but he performs in the local language. One of his bits lately has been about how Canada is all roaches now - how the Canadian government fucked all Canadians over by opening up the floodgates for Indians.

Hearing the audience roar with laughter, knowing full well that their only concept of Canada as a country is that it's filled with roaches and that its government hates its people: it gave me a sense of schadenfreude.

I have no clue, I'm basing my comment on things I hear briefly on the news, things I notice on the cover of papers and magazines when I walk by a news-stand, or what friends or coworkers tell me about. Like I said, it's uncommon to see news about Canada, but when I do see it it's always about those three topics I mentioned.
