Literally who cares if 2 women or 2 men can get married when we have actual REAL problems that affect all of us all at once? This hyper-focus on identity politics is what got us into this mess to begin with. If we could actually all manage to be adults and separate identity from politics, things would get a lot better.
I too use to agree with this until I started noticing leftists saying it once the pushback against tranny kids starting taking shape. Of course after a decade of forcing the most insane things onto society, the left suddenly wants the chuds to just stop focusing on identity politics so much. Not that I am accusing you of being a leftist or anything.
I agree much with what @Audit said, while somethings like trannies or gay marriage may not immediately affect the majority of people and isn't always a day-to-day thing like paying the bills and rent, all of these progressive movements have corrosive long term effects on society.
Like, let's look at feminism for example. While on the exterior may seem like mere "identity politics", it has also done so much to convince women to get out of the home and "be/find herself" etc., which over the long term basically doubles the workforce which also conveniently suppresses wages, which also factors into declining birthrates, which then next gives countries a reason to import more people which once again conveniently suppresses wages and then going forward means this and that and so on and so forth. My current opinion on this "identity politics", they are not some separate realm used as the BIG distraction against the super important real economic questions, they are in fact much more intertwined if they really even exist as separate things at all.

Liberals spent the last decade caring about id-pol instead of improving our standard of living and now we're fucked. Feels sort of like a chicken or the egg situation. If the Liberals didn't focus on LGBT and diversity, would we still be fucked? Does continuing to focus on it further fuck us now? Can we even put the toothpaste back in the tube so to speak?

Like, let's look at feminism for example.
I mean, without getting too off-topic there, the modern concept of feminism is a bourgeoisie ideology specifically for and to the exclusive benefit of the ruling class. It's not designed to benefit working women or their families. It's set up to crash wages and empower the rare few women without actual problems in their lives to go attain political power. For any women without a trust fund, bourgeoise feminism is no better than Canadian housing policy. Stuff more stress into a woman's life, make her spend more time to afford the things her ancestors got for a fraction of the cost, eliminate her free time that would otherwise be spent on family and personal interests, and then replace her with foreigners when she bizarrely can't pump out enough kids to satisfy capitalist demand for line go up. It would be very easy to imagine a form of feminism that actually improves the working woman's life but it definitely isn't this hellish ideology. But, what such a useful ideology would look like, is well beyond the scope of this thread. Suffice to say, it would threaten the line god and reduce gdp to afford improved quality of life.

Is there any wonder the ruling class is so eager to push progressive politics on the masse? They're certainly not for our benefit. Only the sad, childless hedonistic degenerates of the working class thrive under this baffling morality, and it should be quite apparent that I have no positive things to say about such people. Progressivism! It's the best ideology for video game addicts, furries, and fujoshis. Surely, this is the best of all possible worlds. Canada, Candide wrote so much about you!
