The good news is that these people do not produce cultural output of any influence. They just farm government subsidies, which is annoying.

No one is emulating, admiring, or aspiring to be these people, everyone has clocked them as worthless astroturfed parasites. You see them in these lists, and nowhere else.

So I have to poll the thread half a year into the Americans going full yankee doodle and saying "You know what, no. We aren't evil colonizers. We're Americans actually. This is the land of the American People, we do have a culture, fuck off saying we aren't native to it, and if you have a problem about that go cry in front of Alligator Alcatraz."

Does the sound of Manifest Destiny banging in the deep actually reach up into Canada, or is that more of a meme really. The idle thought in the USA for over a century has been that the Canadians are Americans too, they just haven't figured it out yet. Or is it more "I wish there was a Canadian Identity too, instead of everything on earth can be a Canadian BUT a Canadian?"

No. The identity of being a Canadian has been beaten out of the majority of this country through the Laurentian Elites. The current ''Canadian Pride'' Is a psy-op for hysterical boomers and liberals and it will die off soon.

The boomers were the last generation that real Canadian history wasn't hidden from and who weren't told that every other nation and culture deserved more reverence than those that founded the country, and they stood by while any real Canadian culture there was was washed away by liberalism.

They don't understand why Gen-X hates this country, but they are the ones who made us hate it.

We have a Canadian identity, just look at the Red Ensign. The 4 main grouping groups of this nation.

You could just admit you are Americans too...

I've always maintained elsewhere that The American people are the descendants of the European people who conquered North America. Canadians are a major component of that. The United States is just the name of the Government that represents the interests of the American people on the world stage and governs them. US /= A.

That's a really charitable way to say that they were the ones who hid the history from you and told you that every other nation and culture deserves more reverence than yours. That's the generation that threw away everything they inherited. And their parents were too shellshocked (i.e. NeVeR aGaIIIIn) to have disciplined them properly when they were just getting started.

Maybe another way to be charitable, without sweeping any filth under the carpet, is to let them have a slow come-down to save some face, by recognising that the whole thing was a psy-op from the Yanks to create a soft power alternative to the Soviet Avant Garde.
