I've seen some claims that it also has some roots in Oz going back to the 90s.

But haven't seen much actual proof.

I actually ended up listening to As It Happens in the car recently on CBC Radio because I was on a long drive and MATI ended.

It was like meeting an old friend again that trooned out.

It was a staple growing up after dinner doing chores in the kitchen on a radio with the tuning knob broken.

I'm sure like NPR it was always pozzed, but hearing the theme song, the bumpers, the dulcet voices surrounding the awful agitprop content really gave the feels on what we've lost.

Carney has come out and said that he will not be rolling back any of Trudeau's Green policy's. So ICE cars will be outlawed by 2035 and new oil projects will not be going forward unless "they can meet the new Liberal Green Industry Goals". He will be rolling out new EV vehicle subsidies for his buddies at Brookfield and the Canada tax payer will be on the hook for building 5 billion dollars worth of charging stations across the country.

So brace for that. We don't even have the power generation ability to charge all these new EV's but fuck that noise you will buy a shitty EV car from Carney's buddies and you will not drive more then 50 KM away from your home location.

So yah...everything Carney said in the days before the election was 100% pure bullshit. He is Trudeau 2.0 all the way.

That, but the fact that the moron Canadian public voted for a trade war, rather than housing affordability, addressing inflation, tackling unemployment, and social assimilation, and the first step is a drastic cut on immigration.

I knew Carney was BS when he promised basically 1 million housing units per year on his platform. China alone builds 6 million housing units per year, and that's with the largest labour force on Earth.

And on top of that, a million housing units per year is a nightmarish scenario, new developments drastically destroying the local Canadian identity and landscape, and replacing it with Third World cultures.

The quaint Canadian towns with historic identities suddenly having to accomodate millions of newcomers from Third World cultures with sprawling suburban housing developments is horrible.

Imagine if a place like Kyoto, Japan suddenly had to build millions of new housing units to accomodate Third Worlders, entire Japanese neighbourhoods suddenly become enclaves of Punjab and Nigeria, cherry blossom trees mixed with the stench of Indian curry and body odour, Third Worlders suddenly find themselves in an ancient Japanese city with open gates and unlocked sliding doors, just expensive products and artifacts laying out in the open, where law and order are entirely dependent on unspoken cultural rules and manners. Where every morning the inhabitants without fail clean up the sidewalks and streets by sweeping and splashing water, all because of unspoken cultural rules and manners, suddenly having to accomodate millions of Singhs and Tyrones. Where the manicured parks and gardens are kept clean by a voluntary labour force of elderly people who do it out of cultural considerations, suddenly having to contend with Gurpreet defacating in public, or Mufasa expecting the elderly to clean up after himself.

It would be disastrous.

That's literally what is happening in Canada and it's tragic. Tolerance means we're going to have to rely on law enforcement and a servant class to keep things in order because expecting people to assimilate and be civilized would be discriminatory.

It's telling how with successive generations voting less Liberal up here, the Liberals still have that much of a lock come Election Day due to the over 50 voting bloc. It's almost impressive, in a morbid sort of way.

Way more than once I've seen idiot drivers rip past school busses dropping off kids at the schools near my house with their lights on and the signs out. Never once seen anyone get ticketed or pulled over, even with cops driving by as the busses blast their horns at the offending drivers.
