Our culture is too expensive and impossible to fund it all because ITS MULTICULTURAL.

It's by design. Quebec would, too, become multicultural if it werent for the language laws.

Also, try saying any of that on a street corner in Calgary, but be forewarned, street fighting is only a $50 ticket here, and Calgary cops have a sliding scale for what counts as a fight, depending on the provocation. Plenty of Albertans would happily part with $50 to show an easterner how we feel about your kind.

I didn't know america was the only place that had a distinct farming culture or a significant gold rush. I guess the Calgary Stampede is just an American invention. Didn't know Quebec was the only flag that had symbols of other nations on it, I guess BC, Alberta flag etc and the British/English symbols on it are fake news.

He probably doesn't know that the belief on the pro rodeo circuit is that you haven't achieved anything if you haven't won at the Stampede. The top PBR rider was teased for years, even after winning multiple PBR titles, that he wasn't shit 'til he had a Stampede buckle.

Also, a little-known fact, Alberta Boots are Clint Eastwood's favorite cowboy boot and he prefers Biltmore to Stetson for hats.

The fleur de lys is not another nation's symbol, it's ours because we descend from the French. The Union Jack is not the symbol of a foreign nation to anglos, it's their heritage.
There's a difference between that and the american dicksucking plenty of you engage with in this thread, which seems to be what @Purple Francis seems to be against.

Nah this is socially engineered, america had its baby boom because it was rich. Africa doesn't have one because it's poor: it had one because America and other rich nations subsidize these poor populations to reproduce.
We spend about 1000 bucks per 18-35 year old American on foreign aid per year and about 1500 bucks per 18-35 year old on SNAP benefits. We also spend about 20k per 18-35 year old per year paying out social security retirement benefits, which are expected to be exhausted in 8 years.
So for the same amount we are spending right now on soda, old people, and foreigners, we could (theoretically) restructure that spending to be giving families with at least one working parent and additional $30,000 post-tax stipend for being good tax unit producers per year and save money compared to what we are doing now. And that's assuming every 18-35 year old is evenly distributed by sex and 100% of them decide to settle down and start popping out kids when they see a free Toyota camry each year dangling in front of them.
Obviously that's not how you it could.work in practice but the point is developed nations or at least the USA has everything it needs to increase birth rates, it just doesn't prioritize that when immigration works just as well short term.

The Fleur de Lys is literally the symbol of French royalty and was the coat of arms for the French and is literally a symbol of French heritage. And no, Quebec is not unique with its use, even fucking Americans use it in New Orleans with the Cajuns and Creoles. It is not a symbol that is Quebecois only in anyway, even the fucking boy scouts use it today as their international symbol, and they where founded by a British dude.

The Union Jack/ St Georges Cross/Saltire are symbols of foreign nations and they symbolize not only heritage but the fact we were the British King/Queens subjects. Even the old Canadian flag had a Union jack on it. Other nations from the British Empire to symbolize connection to the crown.

The current flag was the winner of a contest to design a new flag that was a Canadian creation, and the sides were supposed to be blue to represent the two oceans that bookend the nation, but Lester B. Pearson, the asshole PM at the time was such a hardcore Liberal Party stooge that he decided to change the sides to red, as blue was the colour of the Conservative Party and he believed Canada was the exculsive property of the Liberals.

The current flag is so cartoonish and unserious, which kinda sums up this country's current situation. Would have been better to modify the old flag and add some French symbol to it to appease Quebec. Should have kept the Union jack in the corner and put a beaver and a gold maple leaf and the French symbol on and it would have been good to go.
