I’m not even sure what outcome would be better.

Carney wins: the fire rises. Alberta is at 40% support to leave Canada with no support, no leader, no real plan. Shit will get real focused if the libs stay, that number will go up. I expect some Chinese-curse interesting times.

Pollievre wins: 80% as bad as LPC, basically the government will stop accusing me of genocide while continuing to tax the shit out of me and sending exact same amount to Quebec. Yay.

trumps plan was not that the libs or anyone would voluntarily join america, no party that has a chance at maintaining power over their own nation would agree to that and iirc many canadian citizens dont even want that. the plan isnt based on canadians having a peaceful easy painless transfer but rather that hed find any excuse to punish and break canada while (mostly correctly) just saying the libs caused the pain until your foodbanks go from servicing one fourth to nearly all canadians and then canada either piecemeal or wholesale agrees to basically be an unrepresented territory that gives us resources that we rule over.

the union is actually much more likely and it surprised me how actually ruthless he was in pursuing it but it makes sense as hes perfectly poised to do so and brush off any humanitarian concerns as another cut to not have america singlehandidly funding the neo-liberal post national world order.
 
Just a reminder that voting for the lesser of two evils is better than not voting at all. I kept seeing people claim conservatives shouldn't vote because it doesn't really matter--now that we're seeing Trump's America vs. Biden's America, I disagree with that sentiment. Potentially good change is better than more of the same.
 
I want a massive reduction with immigration and since a Bernier government is not happening, only Pierre can do it with his proposal to reduce it to 250,000. Pierre is at least making an attempt even though he's a cuck.

It might actually backfire and be a good thing, if you can't have bots or post farms in India mass posting and making manufactured consensus.

I do most of my RL politics at the very local level- in my tiny town there are about a dozen people who run all the little associations and clubs that keep things going. Since I can use Excel and have reasonable levels of agreeableness and conscientiousness I have been absorbed into these elite ranks.
This mostly involves weekly coffee with the local power ladies. They are both incredibly based and super retarded. It seems the older they are, the less they can see the problems in Canada.

Our local law office is shutting down because the lady who was lawyering in her spare time is moving to Texas with her husband and family. The ladies couldn’t fathom why anyone would want to move to the US while things there are “so crazy”, and I just went off in the nicest way I could manage.

Then they started complaining about health care, and how bad it’s getting. And I think we are still a bit sheltered out here because they can’t conceptualize just how many jeets just got dumped here.

And then they celebrated some local methheads getting smoked on the highway (by a jeet trucker lol) because they let their house burn down with their kids inside last year, and I can’t believe these women, who believe that was just and correct, don’t see what’s coming for their grandkids. So weird.

Anyways, the younger they are, the more right wing, which is new. Historically I am usually an outlier but some of these millennial and zoomer moms (especially the homeschoolers) are as reactionary as I am, while their moms and grandmas are a little more tenderhearted.

A lot of this around here lol
