Canada is losing its last big department store now (Hudson's Bay) and by extension the continent's oldest company (Hudson's Bay Company, established 1670).

Even the retail situation in America hasn't deteriorated to that point yet.
Hudson's Bay was spiraling the drain for the last like decade or more. The quality of their shit dropped way down but the price stayed the same. You'd be literally be paying for shit that would be 100% to 500% less at the wal-mart across the street.

Yeah, every time I tried and I REALLY tried to buy something out for Hudson Bay, i have always walked away with nothing because of inferior deals AND selections.

If I were their executive, I would have made the store into an outlet mall with brand shops....20 years ago.

I would go to the Bay maybe like every other year or so if I needed to get my bedding replaced, if you went during seasonal sales the discounts stack on top of each other so I could get a full bed set for like 1/3 the sticker price. They aso tend to be the most convenient locations for picking up Nespresso coffee pods but they're essentially their own store.

...You're fucking joking, right?

I haven't lived in Canada for over a year now, and I know generally Canadians can be gullible dumbasses, but they can't be this retarded, right?
It depends. The Reddit crowd naturally believes their lying eyes and forgets the past nine years (while acting out the usual cucked smugness), but there's enough underlying discussion on consumer vs. industrial tax and realizing who holds the bag to know it's not the game changer the Libs think it is.

I expect the Cons to hammer this relentlessly, and while Cons will be Cons, it's not like Carney has the speaking talent to sidestep the issue.

Carney better win. By the time he is done with Canada, Canadians will BEG to join USA.

And the deal gets worse and worse.
Nawh I want the Cons to win. We will be American at some point out of geopolitical inevitability, but I'm not waiting 20+ years to buy a Glock or 1911. The sooner this banking faggot is put in his place the sooner we can start having big boy discussions.

5 more years will change this around.

Change this to negative.

They seemed to hire pajeets sooner than all the other department stores too. Whenever I walked through it, there seemed to be a certain smell.

We lost the last Hudsons Bay ages ago, like the early 2000s, but it was competing with Wal-mart and a bunch of newly opened kitchy furniture, clothing and decor stores in the area that had better shit for cheaper even then. Well before C*nada became India's toilet.
Not just in Canada, but everywhere malls and department stores are going the way of the dodo.

The average Canadian makes 30k a year so 100k is alot.
It makes me laugh when the rest of Canada looks down on Alberta (median income $80k), when they are abject poors.

I mean it’s not that amazing, we’re above the median in the US- but to be condescended to by the poorest dumbasses on the continent is just galling.

Boomers listened to Gen X the moment they embraced the woke shit.
Justin Trudeau. Anyone in their 40s or 50s who say Migrants are our strength. These are literally Gen Xers, and the average one.

Plenty have said America is or was DEI and woke fucked until now, yet had no GenX President, ever. Lots of millennial WEF coddling projects being made heads of state in Europe to do things like join NATO (ie, Finland). I'm sorry to say, GenX is not pulling the strings worldwide. Woke in its current and militant form is a millennial and zoomer fetish meant to do away with standards and white cultural orthodoxy while simultaneously posing no threat to corporate power and global empire. This is what the managerial class has adopted on behalf of the global ruling class along with mass migration and it isn't going to matter what face is on it.

Don't know any IRL GenX wokesters, just like I don't know any GenX Trudeau voters. Trudeau is a product of aristocracy and elitism "bred" to rule Canada from birth. 100% of millennials I know voted Trudeau over and over again while expecting different results. To millennial females, Trudeau is a crotchtastic dreamboat that can do no wrong. Millennial males, "bro legal weed and CERB" or giving up on voting rather than vote C.

White millennial by demographic will decide who the next PM of Canada is. If any current polling is to be believed it'll be Carney and a near duplicate Trudeau cabinet. Carney is just another astroturfed globalist wrecking ball and tool that could be interchanged with any other, just like there will be no practical difference between him and Trudeau, Freeland, Gould, those 2 spice monkeys, etc. and the cabinet.

PP's major political weakness is he does not offer all millennials something, just the group that has not purchased homes. The home owning millennial group views PP as dangerous to them financially and the status quo since he made "fixing housing" his thing (which he will not do either way). This will cost PP big and the little millennial Boomer v.2.0's are getting a massive dose of status anxiety from tariffs and the economy right now. More than enough to vote status quo Carney. It's not like Carney has any wit, personality, or charisma to account for sudden liberal party popularity.

Considering Trudeau and Macron are Gen Xers, the Gen Xers are in their 50s and 40s now, and the boomers are all pretty much in their 60s or retired- yeah, I would say the current managerial elite is pretty much entirely Gen Xer at this point. Call me a liberal I guess

Oldest GenX have entered their 60s and youngest are mid-late 40s. The nature of leadership anywhere in anything is no one will take you seriously if you are under 40. That's quickly turning into 50 and 60. In the modern day professional world I see the oldest millennials are being advanced into leadership positions now because there's simply "not enough people". Weird to see a denial of coddling when you also see millennial superstars jumping into senior positions and leadership at least 10-15 years sooner than they should without earning their stripes and in the exact same way boomers did in their day. They would describe themselves as 'amazing' and entitled to it anyway when in reality if I did half the shit they do regularly at their age I'd be on a pip and creatively terminated.

Id honestly say milenials are not really the coddled generation. Unironically, theres a lot more competition in vidya than elsewhere, to the point that we actually know what its like to win, what its like to lose- and virtually noone I know actually put merit in sports trophies.

You know who did? The first children of the earlier boomers, the Gen Xers.

I don't contemplate little league trophies and video games. I think of the real-world coddling like 'helicopter parenting' as the most popular phenomenon to describe millennials with boomer parents. And it lasting well into adulthood and other things like entirely doing away with post-secondary academic standards to ensure millennials can graduate because employers are entitled to demanding credentials.

On the regulated profession side the sheer amount of millennial doctors, lawyers, engineers etc at least more than half have no business holding any professional licenses. Those standards have been changed too for millennials, just like basic academics. Canada is leading this charge because there is no functioning legal system or 'at-fault' judicially imposed financial deterrents against the kind of power 'royal medical colleges' and other regulatory bodies have. But, "hey the boomers are retiring" so what can you do.

I like to park there because it's usually a good mall entrance where nobody else parks, this less chances someone dings my "luxury" sports car. Fucking Indigo and Sportcheck are always full lots, but Indigo is actually a pretty fun store to go to as they have gay porn on full display. If you are caught wearing clothes from The Bay people will laugh at you.
Canada is a country where if you don't spend money on designer brands maxxing out your credit card(s), you're a massive fucking loser 😃
How does this shit happen in a country where most people can't even afford food?
I get that rent prices are high but financial literally among zoomies is really fucking awful.

100k is alot.
100K is so much that it puts us in a different
Tax bracket. If you make any decent money most of it goes to taxes. I know some people with good jobs and they usually prefer to keep their salary a bit lower just so it doesn’t fall into that shit.
