Election call will happen next week most likely. Carney make a few token gestures (like axing the consumer tax today), prattle on about sovereignty and tariffs in a speech or two, and then drop the writ for that late April/early May election already confirmed by Liberal sources. @Hokuriku has it right that attempting to put off an election with Carney not having a seat in Parliament and not being a good debater/public speaker is a quick way to wreck the Lib's sliver of opportunity.

Right now I'm pretty pessimistic about the election. The Conservatives seem to be controlled opposition and not worth voting for. Not that my vote matters anyways as the Eastern provinces dictate who wins.

Wait I thought Carney was lieing about axing the tax? All the politicians lie and when he said it outloud on live TV immediately after winning, I was told he's a lieing liar who lies and anyone who believes this politician is retarded. Was him signing it away an AI generation? Must've been because he couldn't possibly follow through on what he said to the entire country on his first day on the job.

  • If a federal election were held today, 37% of Canadians would vote for the Conservative Party of Canada, while 37% would vote for the Liberal Party. The Conservative Party of Canada has decreased by six points compared to last week (43%), while the Liberal Party of Canada has increased by seven points (30%). Volatility in the public environment continues. With Mark Carney as the leader of the Liberal Party, the Conservatives and the Liberals are in a tie.
  • Half of Canadians want a change of government for the next federal election (53%), whereas 29% want the current team to continue and form the next government.
  • A third of respondents (33%) would like the election to take place this spring. On the other hand, a third of respondents (31%) would prefer the election to take place at the fixed date by the Canada Election Act, no late than October 20th . Support for an earlier election is higher among Albertans (43%) and respondents aged 55 and older (40%).
  • Overall, more than a third of respondents (37%) are satisfied with the Canadian government led by Justin Trudeau, while 57% are dissatisfied.

I don't mind Steamwhistle, but agree it's overmarketed, overpriced generic swill much like Moosehead and their recent "Donald Trump 4 year flat".

It's been a long time now, but I recall going on the Steamwhistle tour.

The "highlight" at the end was that they gave out samples of their product.

Except they only brew one product, the stuff that's available everywhere.

So their big innovation in-house was that they had a tap that you could drink their one product, but unfiltered.

So now you could drink hazy generic swill instead of clear.
Moosehead I actually enjoy their beer (bottles over cans of Moosehead)

Usually I just stick with Saskatchewan Champagne (Old Style Pilsner)

"Unremarkable" I think is the best way to describe it. They are smart to make a Pilsner the market isn't crowded.

Where the hell are you shopping at?
I bought a Pax 2 (back in 2019, to be fair) and I paid 200$ something in a store, after taxes
They were even cheaper in their website but now they're discontinued.
You can still get the new version, Pax Plus, for 210$ before shipping and taxes

Grey market usually but most deals on vaporizers are out of stock fast. My bubbler is ok and limits consumption. I gave up on the pax when they were all out of stock but they seem back.

Phone posting right now, but last I checked POTV ships to Canada and they have a bunch of different ones in the ~$100-$300 range, including a few Canadian made ones from brands like Arizer. I have a friend in the states with a medical prescription (for an actual valid reason, chronic nerve pain, used to be on opiates but switched) who picked up a decent flower vape for like $60 a few months ago, but I don't know what brand it was so I'd have to ask him. You have to do your research on the cheaper ones because there are a lot of shitty brands like g-pen, but it's not too hard to look up what ones are good or bad.

There should really be a thread for this, since it's a little bit off topic. Maybe there is one, I'll check when I get home.

Thanks. not OT for Canada at all the sober people will be abusing substances before all is said and done and regulars opting for a clear head. 2025 going to be topsy turvy start to finish.

I'm finally seeing Liberal party ads attacking PP by pointing out that he's totally just like Trump. See, here's a clip of Trump saying "fake news," and a clip of Pierre saying it! They're basically the same guy! Like, geez, LPC, I was already gonna vote for him, you don't have to sell him to me

Maybe we will have that election. Whatever. I want annexation. Don't give a fuck.

Definitely not Canadian fighter jets, the RCAF probably doesn't have the funds to pay for fuel to fly 3 planes at once. Probably only have 3-4 working F-18s at a time as well.

Also its fun seeing the media already play defense for Carney. Idk if Pierre Poilievre will actually do what he says he will do but generally the economy does a bit better under conservative leader ship that Liberal. Crazy how the media is trying to label him as Trumps close ally when Trudeau literally flew to Mar a Lago, and then prorogued Parliament when the tariffs where being threatened.

Steven Mckinnon is on record on ctv news saying that Pierre paid Trump to say that he's not a maga guy, so the libs are doing about what I expected them to

Canadians are amongst the most cucked people on Earth. They forgot the last 10 years of pain and over taxation because their sitting government manipulated them with "orange man bad". All Trump wanted was a secure boarder, but the provincial and federal faggots in Canada used this as a rallying cry to garner hate towards Americans and solidify their power and control over the country. The common people fell for it. It wasn't Trump that overtaxed you people in the last 10 years. It wasn't Trump that called your country a "post-national state". It wasn't Trump that flooded your country with low value shitskins from India that took your children's jobs. It wasn't Trump that locked you down and threatened to take away your employment for not getting a fucking vaccine. It was not Trump that helped the Chinese government infiltrate Canada for the past 20 odd years.

Canadians are fucking stupid and believe everything they see on television. They do not do any further research. Have a conversation with the average Canadian, you bring up the fact that Carney moved his company to New York or that his company was responsible for cutting down a massive chunk of the Amazon rainforest or that his inflationary tactics in England tanked the British economy and they will call you a "Russian bot" or a "conspiracy theorist".

Canadians prefer free shit and that is how they vote. Whichever party gives them 'free' education or 'free' healthcare or muh social programs. They have Stockholm Syndrome and they cannot be saved. Many Canadians HATED the truckers. They called them domestic terrorists and occupiers... Do domestic terrorists use outdoor jacuzzi's, play street hockey, and set up bouncy castles for children? These people are beyond saving. The country is run by smug Laurentian elites from Toronto and Montreal. They think blue collar people that actually work for a living are beneath them. And then you have a lair of government workers - teachers and service employees whose unions exist to prevent any fiscal conservatism and continually push bullshit like diversity and equity.

Canadians are fucking stupid and they need to be saved for their own good.

Right now I'm pretty pessimistic about the election. The Conservatives seem to be controlled opposition and not worth voting for. Not that my vote matters anyways as the Eastern provinces dictate who wins.

Remember the Covid Election? All three faggot party leaders standing together laughing telling Canadians to get the shot. You have the same situation now. All three parties - "Orange Man bad". You also have a fake conservative in Doug Ford propping up Mark Carney. There are three types of parties in Canada - The Communist Party, The Far Left Party, and the Leftist Party. Nobody has any backbone to say what they want or defend their principles because muh populism.

I feel like there's a nonzero chance that would backfire.
That's a very gay way of saying "something might probably happen". Of course it's going to backfire for some people. But most Canadians don't like Trump and journos trying to associate a candidate with Trump's policy or style is going to deter more people than it's going to attract towards that candidate.
