That would be a wild card. If Trump was to make a sweeping policy statement of incorporating Canada, it would be at the State of the Union. But it's hard to say if he's actually serious about it rather then just bullying Trudeau.
It was half hearted because it was. Everyone was screaming for tariffs on Feb 1, and Trump obliged. However, I think he was focused elsewhere and could not give the tariff issue his full attention(Ukraine). I still don't think he is focused on it. However, the people demanded(us) and he obliged. So many Canadians seem to be chomping at the bit to have a trade war with the US. I saw our response and it's pretty anemic....again.
The glorious nation of Canadaland exported $569 billion worth of things. 76.5% of that went to America. Not only is Canada for sale, it can be bought remarkably cheap.
Carney's recent piddling groundswell is super astroturf'd, as pointed out by @Mordecai "3 Finger" Brown
we'll see how much support actually crystallizes around him.
[many Canucks still love to munch that plastic grass; it tastes like home… "gotta be KD!"]
a big media push has been underway, his appearance on The Daily Show should have been such an obvious tip-off,
w.r.t. being an establishment candidate, fitting into a globohomo-or-thereabouts agenda.
Anyway.
This whole 51st state thing has been Trump thumbing his nose @ The House of Windsor, if you ask me.
Underscoring how their grip on Canada might be more de jure than de facto.
Especially since Liz died.
No Charles on the money until 2027?
Damn fam, that's 4 years after his coronation...
wonder what the odds are
of Will being crowned before then.
But hey, it was nationalism in the face of American expansionist policy that crystallized our stupid dominion in the first place…?
Spurring construction of the Canadian Pacific railway… ironically funded by many international investors—including Americans—and which brought BC into confederation, for instance.
The same railway also transported militia to quash Riel's second rebellion…
Not sure if there's a national project today that could bind together the provinces and territories.
And so much of our northern infrastructure was subsidized by the Americans, anyway... the DEW line, etc.
Any nerds with time, I sincerely recommend the Pierre Berton series, "The National Dream" The book might be good, but I'm illiterate.
I found it illuminating.
Great background noise while doing chores.
Also some light reading here,
for heads on that 'the aristocracy still pulls the strings' tip.
Dougie threatening to turn off the power,
implicitly has the king's blessing.
(not explicitly; the ensuing scandal would be immense; plausible deniability is the name of the game)
OPG is a Crown Corp, after all.
I mean, ~89% of Canada is Crown Land… a perfect spot for the ol' triangle trade of drugs:arms:people.
(some arms are not physical; like propaganda, for instance. our country makes a lot of propaganda. I'm looking at you, production crews working in Toronto/Vancouver, generating slop for streaming services. PL: I walked away from a lucrative job in that fallen world.)
The Prime Ministers and Premiers ultimately serve the sovereign, not the people—make no mistake about that.
dang this post ended up being way longer than intended
sorry sorry sorry
and don't get me started on how Cameron Ortis was likely framed!
Ford is gonna stick it to the meanie doodoo orange Americans by slightly harming the bottom line of Starlink, a private-sector company, at the cost of quality of life for bumfuck rural Canadians
The Diagolon boys (which in reality, are only 3 main players with various other social media associates) are basically the only based, loosely organized globohomo resistance movement left standing 3 years after the convoy.
There will always be "Fed" accusations to any right-leaning dissidents in this space. Ezra Levant of Rebel News accused Jeremy MacKenzie of being a fed asset in social media print.
Neither of the 3 main players (Jeremy MacKenzie, Alex Vriend (Ferryman's Toll), Derek Harrison (Derek Rants)) were formally charged with their association with the Freedom Convoy because they claim they had premonitions before Trudeau sent in the good squad, so they left the frontlines before the arrests started. None of the 3 were part of the leadership team of the actual protest, simply interested parties who wandered in and streamed.
MacKenzie was charged around the same time though with offenses in something like 4 different jurisdictions (accused of reckless firearm use, possible assault allegations of an old gf, protesting in front of the Health Minister’s Nova Scotia home, some charges from the Quebec side of the river related to the convoy). He actually was incarcerated in Saskatchewan during the Oct '22 Public Inquiry into the Emergency Act. He was subpoenaed to testify from jail.
Jeremy eventually managed to have all charges stayed eventually AFAIK at great personal expense.
I'm not aware of any formal charges against the other two.
The three did a meme "Road Rage Terror Tour" this past summer where they set off in a RV and did fan service stops from coast to coast. They had trouble with antifa types calling venue owners and getting their bookings canceled. They also had journoscum stakeout their BBQs and write boogeyman national security stories about them. Hamilton mayor Andrea Howarth, formerly the Ontario NDP leader, did a public REEEing denouncing them and declaring that they didn't have free association or movement rights to have a BBQ in her fair city.
As far as I'm aware, the tour at least demonstrated that the movement has a few dozen heads in every moderately sized town that were willing to potentially phonebook themselves and pay 50$ to see the boys up close.

The only person that faced court consequences besides Jeremy for those 4 different counts you mentioned above was Gary Schill for getting into a domestic with his ex-wife and the only thing from it was him being banned from owning firearms for 5 years.
Just got home from the gym and witnessed one of the most nigger cattle displays I've ever seen.
My mom, a boomer NDP head and my hyper liberal pooner sister watching Trump's address and talking about how they want to see his head explode live on TV. It was the most 'two minutes of hate' shit I have ever seen and I am fucking ashamed of them both.
The kicker? For years neither of them have given an actual answer as to why they hate Trump. My mom just reiterates whatever the news says, says he's an asshole, he's a crook, corrupt, etc and my sister is 100% convinced he's totally for real building tranny death camps.
I fucking wish anyone in this shithole cared one third of the amount Trump does for his country. We deserve everything we get and I am really fucking bitter about it.
