What a fucking pussy. I hate that the weakest amongst us are the most gung ho for war. These losers have happily taken every amount of shit and abuse over the last decade and asked for more. They are the reason our political class believe us to be retards. The worst part about it, is they will never learn. Things will get worse and worse and they will still vote Liberal.

Guns are only common in Canada if you don't compare them to the US. About 20% of Canadian households own a gun, and there's a really good chance it's either a .22LR or a shotgun. The US has enough AR's to army every citizen in Canada. You guys have really good long ranger shooters but that's about it.

That's a rubbish and frankly a dumb way of looking at it. Montreal is over 383 years old but you're going to tell me that the Praires dictate our culture?

And you're literally calling Ontario and Quebec, America-lite, and yet you're ignoring the fact that the Praires are literally an extension of Midwestern USA.

The Great Lakes and the Saint Lawrence valley has always been our most populated regions since Samuel de Champlain landed on these shores in 1608.
Shields in Ontario and Quebec as well bro.

I have no trust in the courts, but I feel like if they were intending to run interference like that they would have just agreed with the government earlier and dismiss the petition to treat the case as urgent so it's memoryholed until the resumption of Parliament made it a moot point.

The courts also definitively ruled against the government regarding the use of the Emergencies Act just recently so it's not necessarily a given that they're LPC yes-men.
That's where this is heading. Whatever the fig leaf, it'll come months or years late. Still, prorogation is precious to whoever is in power and for preventing democracy. The King of England is about the only person who can do anything about it and most Canadians support abusing it along with everything else. Imagine if whatever party in US congress could just go on vacation for up to 12 months and make every bill and vote on the floor die instantly.

Everything is just one big hockey fight to them when it comes to America. More and more these days I have to side with the scummy oligarchs and elite that rule Canada they are right to operate as they do and the majority of Canadians give full unambiguous consent.

Only place on Earth with a worse cost-of-living crisis than Canada is England and Canadians will vote the guy literally responsible for it into the Prime Ministers office so he can do the same to Canada and make it #1 at something finally. I will glumly eat a bowl of crickets as tribute so I never forget this moment. Holy fucking shit.

This government is not marginally retaeded. It's full retarded.

Also, this con faggot is finally getting it.

YES. WE WANT DEATH PENALTY. WE WANT FUCKING GLADITOR FIGHTS

Fucking finally. I was in support of reinstating the death penalty back when it was unpopular, and watched with glee as it went from 30% or so support to over 70% in the past few years. Especially for home invaders, or home molesters as I call them, who are just as bad as chomos and should treated just as seriously by both victims and the law.

I'm still not calling the cops if I have run-in with a homo, chomo, or other criminal though, and I'm not voting for this crack-dealing mobster either.

BC Mayor Brad West has been talking about a meeting he had with Blinken two years ago in regards to the out of control fentanyl manufacturing. I'm thinking it is probably unusual for such a high level US bureaucrat to be telling a lowly Canadian mayor to "pull up".

Blinken’s Warning Two Years Ago: U.S. ‘Losing Faith’ in Canada’s Ability to Combat Industrial-Scale Fentanyl
BC Mayor Warns of Asian Organized Crime’s Surprising Access to Canada’s Political Class, Echoing US Agency Concerns

PORT COQUITLAM, Canada — In a high-level meeting in 2023—one participant representing the head of state of the world’s most powerful nation, the other a popular small-town mayor in British Columbia—candid warnings emerged about Canada’s capacity to confront the industrial-scale production of fentanyl. Mayor Brad West, a longstanding critic of transnational drug networks in his province, recalls Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressing that Washington believes Beijing is effectively weaponizing fentanyl against North Americans—and that Canada stands out as a worrisome weak link in the global supply chain.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government moved to address growing U.S. alarm by appointing former RCMP deputy commissioner Kevin Brosseau as Canada’s new “fentanyl czar.” Announced as part of an agreement to forestall potential American tariffs in a tense trade dispute, the position mandates “accelerating Canada’s ongoing work to detect, disrupt, and dismantle the fentanyl trade,” according to the Prime Minister’s Office. Brosseau, who most recently served as deputy national security and intelligence adviser to Trudeau, will work closely with U.S. agencies to tackle a crisis that has claimed tens of thousands of lives across North America. Still, questions remain about whether he has the standing in Washington—and the authority in Ottawa—to enact meaningful reforms.

West, reflecting on his encounter with Blinken, doubts that incremental measures will suffice. He argues that only bold legislative change, coupled with a willingness to challenge entrenched legal barriers, can dispel the U.S. government’s unease over Canada’s approach.
“Secretary Blinken specifically noted the lack of a RICO-style law in Canada,” West said. “He talked about how, in the United States, that law had been used to take down large portions of the mafia. Then he looked at us—one of America’s closest allies—and saw a very concerning weak link.”

According to West, Blinken pointed to China’s role in funneling precursor chemicals into fentanyl labs. He warned that China’s government, if inclined, could stem the flow but has little interest in doing so. “He was incredibly candid and very serious about the threat fentanyl poses to North America,” West recalled. “He confirmed the connection between the Chinese Communist Party, the triads, and the Mexican cartels, telling me these groups are working together—and it’s Canada where they’re finding a safe operating base.”

West says American frustration revolves around high-profile law enforcement stumbles in Canada, notably the E-Pirate investigation into Silver International, an alleged underground bank in Richmond, B.C., believed to have laundered more than a billion dollars a year for global syndicates. Touted as a signal that Canadian authorities could clamp down on transnational money laundering, the case nevertheless collapsed with no convictions. “He expressed genuine dismay that we haven’t secured meaningful convictions,” West said, paraphrasing Blinken. “When our most prominent laundering case ends with zero prison time, you can see why the Americans are alarmed.”

Blinken also conveyed to West that U.S. agencies have grown hesitant to share certain intelligence with their Canadian counterparts.
“He told me that U.S. intelligence and law enforcement are withholding some evidence because they don’t believe we’ll act on it,” West explained. “They’ve lost confidence.”

West added that in ongoing communications, he has learned American officials are shocked that major figures in Asian organized crime “seem to have so much access to our political class. They’re basically saying, ‘What’s going on in Canada?’”

But at the end of the day it's Canada and the gov't side doesn't have to make any cogent argument.
It seems to me that it's going to come down the GG's having the option to refuse. Ignoring that pretty much everyone agrees the GG has been a "largely ceremonial" position that is appointed by and serves at the behest of the PM who appointed them.
In fact, this exact argument was brought up by the govt ballwashers, when some of the evil anti-vaxxers were asking that the GG call an election back then.
The courts are very deferential to the govt and it's processes. I'm not predicting which way it will go, but reading that Northern Perspective guys tweets, it seems to me he might be a tad bit optimistic. It's just as likely the court will accept that it was the GG's decision to make, and the GG made it.

If you are siding with the Family Compact / Laurentian Elites be prepared to swing (from a lamppost) with the Laurentian Elite
So how exactly do we hold the government to account then?

Can I start Luigi-ing members of the Family Compact?

Lol these are the same Boomers who spend 6 months of the year down in Florida (likely enjoying one of Trumps golf courses)

I'm saying I see now exactly why Laurentians do what they do. The way they can generate near majority opinions favorable to themselves instantly at a level equal to or better than the CCP with none of the work. At least with the CCP you know there was one guy for sure out there in 1989 willing to permanently disagree.

It will probably take a lot more than a rock solid case with incontrovertible evidence. The GG is the linchpin of holding Canadians down in these moments no party will give it up and no judge will read the law as them having that much say in the King's affairs. The NP guy is likely running for political office at some point so while he's not wrong... he's become a serious hopium dealer.

Fuck this guy. The entire country has been going down the drain. He sacrificed future generations, for his own comfort. He voted to destroy it over and over again. His kids can't afford a home, his kids won't have the healthcare that he so loudly trumpets. They won't have jobs, that pay anything, they will freeze in the dark. So he can be comfortable for just a little while longer.

There is a tide of shit covered rape goblins swarming over the country. Organized crime has run unchecked for decades. Corruption is rampant. Every government meeting is a humiliation ritual over the country existing. But the second the man down south notices he becomes a patriot.

The worst part of it all is he will still vote Liberal, he will still vote for all the problems this nation has continuing until it collapses. He will walk away feeling smug that he got one over on the orange man. This is the very worst of Canada. This impotent old fuck, screaming into the void is what Canadians have become.

I hate this tough guy chicken hawk BS.
