So hard to say if our shitposter in chief is serious or not. Part of me thinks he is. The other part is he's playing hardball and reminding Ottawa who is in charge here, Bane style.

Canadian identity is British North American with a French element, it's always been, we are similar to America but with British and French characteristics.

Our culture is intertwined with all things American, but the British element kept us more compliant and bureaucratic than Americans, and the French aspect kept us in tune with Continental Europe. We are fundamentally religiously Christian, English Protestant and French Catholic are our founding nations. Hockey is our national sport, which aligned us with the Northern Europeans. Canadian laws and customs are fundamentally derived from Great Britain, France, and New England (Northeast USA).

Most of what I have said are rather outdated because Canada decided in the 1980's to constitutionally mandate multiculturalism, and combined with mass immigration policies, this suppressed our native culture.

You'd find it hard to believe, but Brampton and Toronto were once governed as English Protestant parishes and were strong Conservative strongholds up until the 1980's.

Of course, the Boomers know all of this, which begs the question how on Earth could they live with themselves knowing all of this?

That was all destroyed.

Well the conservative candidate in my area is a jeet. Guess I'll wait and see who the PPC runs

The British culture in north America is just academic. We're not really British. British descent, but meh

If you want actual Canadian culture, it depends on the province, but the most Canadian stereotypical culture is hoser culture.

Maybe if you go to the shield you'll get actual Canadian culture, but if you live south of it and in Toronto, there literally is no Canadian culture and it's just America lite.

We're a frontier nation. Imagine the US west and Texas, but instead with the Tundra.

Unfortunately, most Canadians now live in the GTA. Equating GTA culture with the rest of Canada is a damned effort which would be like equating Austin with the rest of Texas.

Maybe once upon a time Toronto or Montreal operated as the gatehouses to the frontier to the north, but no longer. Instead both are rubbish bins for the third world

Rise up timbit taliban, we must die for our punjabi replacements, be a good guilty colonizer and die for the owner class
I would rather due fragging my Laurentian Elite officer or just straight up collaborating with the American Liberators so I can be part of the Vichy administration.
That's sort of my point, though. Canadian culture isn't much more than a collection of stereotypes as seen from an outsider. The vast majority of Canadians have no connection to their country beyond it being the place where they live.
This novel by Ken McGoogan does a great job explaining how and Canadians are so cucked (he is your bog standard historian shitlib) so it's not really what he was going for, but he makes a good point inadvertently. He covers Celtic people in general since the majority of Canadians are either Irish or Scottish ancestry (barring the Germans and Ukrainians on the Prairies)

The best chapters are on the Arctic explorers, Fur trappers, and Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley.

I still feel patriotic when I hear Canada's old national anthem "The Maple Leaf Forever"

"The Thistle, Shamrock, Rose entwine" --> That is what Canada is supposed to be.

Guess the Leaf won't be forever.

For the sake of argument, can you provide a sincere definition of X culture for another country?
Politeness, healthcare, bad weather, etc are stereotypes. You might as well say that obesity is American identity.
Jeets shit on the street, scam everyone and everything and generally have no decency or respect.

That's a culture.

Though MSM is pretending it's not happening, the prorogation court challenge is currently underway. So far it sounds like the court isn't dismissing the plaintiff arguments out of hand which is pleasantly surprising. Cue rainbows.

Rainbows is right they are just creating the impression it was legally considered. Holy shit why would they ever rule against the government or do anything democratic when they can just say 'sorry not sorry, its the law' regardless of what could ever be proven or presented.

That's a rubbish and frankly a dumb way of looking at it. Montreal is over 383 years old but you're going to tell me that the Praires dictate our culture?

And you're literally calling Ontario and Quebec, America-lite, and yet you're ignoring the fact that the Praires are literally an extension of Midwestern USA.

The Great Lakes and the Saint Lawrence valley has always been our most populated regions since Samuel de Champlain landed on these shores in 1608.

The problem with Canada is that it has always been defined by its government. It has never been anything but.

My impression from the gallery notes is that the govts arguments so far have been marginally retarded.

I was following the main lawyer's youtube updates but I just can't see prorogation being taken away. The nuts and bolts are interesting because its basically 'trust me bro' over and over again. But at the end of the day it's Canada and the gov't side doesn't have to make any cogent argument.

Sorry for highjacking (sort of?) this post - I just wanted to ask as well: did the Germans have any contribution to this, like they did to the USA? Yes, you mentioned Germans and Ukranians on the Prairies, yet I wanted to ask you for a general analysis.

Basically, I wanted to know, how "deep" was the Germanic colony in the Anglo Americas to see how much they helped. That is, both USA and Canada, to know if the Scots-Irish and British are the "Great" contributors, or the Germans aren't that far behind.

I have no trust in the courts, but I feel like if they were intending to run interference like that they would have just agreed with the government earlier and dismiss the petition to treat the case as urgent so it's memoryholed until the resumption of Parliament made it a moot point.

The courts also definitively ruled against the government regarding the use of the Emergencies Act just recently so it's not necessarily a given that they're LPC yes-men.
