none of the liberals i talk to ever explain to me if tariffs are useless and don't work and only punish the country who sets them up, why do countries retaliate against US tariffs?

An asian fag twiddling his shoes like humpty dumpty on Justo's late and gay stream is peak Canada.

I guess it's also good if you have a lot of debt

Owing 500K on a house isn't so bad when a loaf of bread is $300 and your paid 100K a month due to massive devaluation of the currency.

Want to buy a weeks groceries? Well that's only around 6,000 thousands of the new Canadian Peso's now.

So what do we think the response will be?

Tit for tat tariffs seems like a bad idea but I could think of some alternatives:
  1. A moratorium on imports of certain luxury goods
  2. A ban on exports of something that would have immediate impact, like Uranium or medical radioisotopes
  3. Some regulatory maneuver to prevent the flow of US ships & barges into the St Lawrence (would make ports on the great lakes unusable).
Something gay like no more bourbon (like Russian Standard vodka) and drink Canadian Rye even though it's Shite.

Instead of tariffs, it would be more effective if Trump sanctioned all members of the Laurentian Elites.

Seize their fucking assets and let them suffer like they made your average White Canadian suffer.

AAAKKKKKSSHHUUUAAaaaallly....

Like most royalty they keep their assets in the Caribbean and Europe where plebs and revolutionaries can't get their hands on it.

is it really as simple as them being dumb? there's NOBODY who tries to explain the logic for why tariffs are bad for the US but not bad for other countries?

Tariff's don't hurt the US as much because they are the world's premier economy. Not only is their dollar the reserve currency of the world they are also the biggest buyer of goods in the world.

The US market is the dominating market in the world. Don't let the proggies try to tell you the EU or China is ackshully bigger. Companies will bend the knee to Trump to be able to sell their goods competitively in the states and he knows it. That's what this is really all about; forcing the world's companies to return manufacturing to the US rather then China or India.

Now I do understand why Trump is doing this, he wants to make sure America is sufficient in almost every critical thing. The looming threat of Chairman Meow cutting off the supply of drugs, computer chips or the cheap WalMart junk so many Yanks are addict too is a real threat to weak American PotUS who might bend the knee rather then become too unpopular.

If America can supply itself with most if not all of the critical goods by making companies manufacture them in the US then not only will it bring back many good paying jobs it provides security for future issues.

It's a good plan, it just really really sucks that it will kill us (Canada).

I am about to pour some of my last Kentucky Bourbon in my house right now. Should enjoy as I think it may be awhile before I can buy another bottle.

Legitimately did not have too though. Canada could easily be integrated into the greater North American economy. The problem is Canada under Trudy has gotten way too chummy with the Asians while looking the other way on a whole host of things. FFS, the US Border with Canada used to be so boring that in remote places there were crossing points that were "self serve". You literally walked up to it, pushed a button, a video feed would turn on and you would just show your passport to the camera and get waved on through. Completely unmanned and unguarded.

Unfortunately this trust was abused.
