With this trade war that Ottawa seems dead set on waging. Ottawa forgets that Canada is convenient to do business with, not cheap, nor easy.
Its actually worse then that. Canada NEEDS friendly relations with the USA to maintain the integrity of its territory. The only way to travel from Ottawa to Vancouver is to cross into the USA and use the American Interstate Highway System. This was the catalyst of "The Honkening". Trudeau shutting down truckers ability to cross into the USA to deliver goods from one end of Canada to the other.

If Ottawa gets into a shit flinging contest with Washington DC, it doesn't just lose its cross border trade. It loses contact with every province west of the Canadian Shield. Its important to note. The USA allows Canadian Trucks to use the Interstate Highway System for FREE. Duties and taxes are only levied on final destination in accordance with NAFTA. Pass through cargo is completely untaxed. Which is ESSENTIAL for Ontario to do any business with BC and Alberta.

America threatening to levy a 25% tariff on cross border cargo will kill Canada's own internal market.

And it's literally Ontario's own fault. BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba were more then happy to build a straight four lane Highway 1 all the way across Canada, but once it came to Ontario they looked at the mountains and said "nah even a dirt road would be enough"
Ontario is isolated from the rest of Canada even geographically.

Well of course. Why should Ontario pay for a complicated and very expensive highway through the shield when the USA was willing to provide the same service for free using existing infrastructure.

Ottawa discovering too late there is no such thing as "free". What is amusing to me is that even during the trucker protests both American and Canadian media never bothered to explain this obvious and manifest fact. Ottawa had the warning shots fired at them 3 years ago. I really have no sympathy for them now that the USA is no longer entirely friendly and is willing to yank the chain on the collar Canada very willingly put around its own neck.

This is the future Canada asked for after all. This is the future you chose. Pierre Polivier is certainly going to try and undo the damage, but the USA is not in the mood to play nice right now. Especially now that we have to start expending resources to defend our northern border from illegal migration originating from Canada's permissive immigration policies. The 25% tariff is the big ask, but that can be negotiated down to forcing Canadian Truckers to pay fee's for usage of OUR highways. In order to pay for more border patrol agents and ICE support to mitigate the crisis CANADA caused on our mutual border.

You can go east to west without leaving the country. It's just the drive through Northern Ontario is awful. The country ends at Sudbury and it's wilderness until Winnipeg. I don't consider Thunder Bay to be civilization.

With the blockade of the Windsor bridge. It was the main artery of trade into Ontario. Nothing was crossing into the states and nothing was coming up. Which lead to the White House losing it's shit over it. Which is probably why they felt the need to push the Emergencies Act so hard.

It was a bit worse then that on our side. Not necessarily the Windsor Bridge, but the Sweetgrass/Coutts crossing between Montana and Alberta. The Biden Administration wasn't just freaking out over the shut down of cross border trade. There was genuine concern of the US Prairie States like Montana going off the reservation and intervening in support. Biden was demanding Trudeau do something because the Canada issue was causing mutiny in his own country.

Its an unavoidable fact the USA and Canada are intimately linked.

"And maybe no better. There is no government in Canada. Hell, there's no God in Canada. Never will be. We are dealing with a people manifestly incapable of governing themselves. And do you know what happens with people who cannot govern themselves? That's right. Others come in to govern for them."
—Cormac McCarthy (Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West)

Canada's relationship with America is like Germany's with Austria.

Canschluss (Canadian Anschluss) the future.

Both are made of the same type of founding stock. Even the Prairies are Volga Germans (Ukrainians) like German Americans.

american hospital companies to lower their prices in order to survive.
american hospitals are expensive because their number is limited by certificates of need and another barriers to entry. as well as a thicket of regulations that prevent competition and exemption from anti-trust statutes.

i've said it before here but ukrainian-canadians were the inventors of canadian multiculturalism as a bulwark against the francophones.

I assume the Menzoid (David Menzies) was one of the 3 reporters removed?

I didn't see any Rebel News journalists thrown out, only alumni like Keean Bexte & Mocha Berzigan.

The others that seem to be caught in the fray and trespassed as well were beat guys from the Western Standard and True North. Along with a gaggle of unaffiliated journalism students.

I watched a video with a breakdown from True North's Isaac Lamoureux.

He claimed that he arrived to the event 5 mins late and the police were already perp walking Bexte and Berzigan from the Community Center.

Then he claimed the zogbot carded him on the sidewalk, called Carney's cronies then was trespassed himself by police on the public street after identifying himself and his outlet.

Kinda hate the fact that Pollievre is going to get caught holding the bag here and smug Liberals are going to pretend it is entirely his fault and not Trudeau openly shit talking Trump for four years and then taking his ball and going home.
Honestly i think everyone with a brain knows that Trudeau made Canada shit. the ones who think otherwise really don't matter.

Fuck Poilievre.

If he was running on a true "Yeet the Jeets" platform, then I'd agree that the journoscum spindoctoring will be unfair.

But Pierre is a cuck and a coward that is selling another globalist lie that taking a few cents a litre off at the Shell is somehow going to get us our country back.

Check out how fucking corrupt Canada is from the municipal to the federal.

You find this shit from third world shit holes but here it is.

Oh Yeh, these "tiny homes" are literal boxes of recycled cans with no plumbing and electricity & insulation.
If Canada continues to import more Chinks and Poojeets, we would soon be crammed inside shoeboxes.

Which is the rub isn't it. The next 4 years are going to be existential for Canada. The incoming US admistration has said it intends to go full McKinley. Manifest Destiny, from sea to shining sea. BTW the arctic ocean is one of those seas.

It's not enough for Polivier, "if he wins" to articulate an economic reason for Canada to be a thing. The USA is going to make a sweeping cultural demand for North American unification over the next 4 years. Canada will need to articulate a legitimate reason for why it should NOT join the Union. And economic reasons are not enough.

Canada needs to articulate a national identity and culture that not just makes it distinct from the Americans, it needs to be articulated as so distinct, men are willing to die for it.

Canada was already awful long before Castro Jr, and it's disingenuous to pretend otherwise. Regardless, he sure went out of his way to make everything even more astronomically worse in every metric possible, although in fairness, it was always going to be a foregone conclusion with all of this gibberish talk of "our values in a democracy."

For someone who admired Canada and saw it through a Turd World Country, this is sad to agree; but ultimately it is true.

The talk about Canadian politeness and such may be funny, but perhaps the comfort and "welcoming" to strangers will be Canada's undoing - if not reversed in time.

This. He couldn't grovel any harder to our invaders if he tried.
