I don't believe that the Liberal government will prorogue this. They are already polling extremely poorly and they already have very little seats as it is, proroguing would only serve to show that the Conservatives are correct in their assessment and they would only lose more seats as a result, it would effectively ruin the party for 20+ years. If they do this, you will never see another Liberal government in your lifetime.Prorogation is all but assured at this point. We're on the verge of an Australian style constitutional crisis where the Governor General will probably have to step in and appoint Pierre as caretaker PM until new elections are held
The immigration policy is interesting. Essentially, they're capping population growth by tying it to how many completed housing projects and houses are built by provincial governments. It's being tied to our labor market metrics and our health care system availability. Right now, we have 4x as many people as we have houses, jobs and medical services so the idea of bringing in any new immigrants is completely off the fucking table.Do you think there would be a new government deal to hand over all the unwanted Tim Horton employees to Elon?
But are the Leaf Conservatives like the Tories in the UK where they're just a slightly less leftist Left party? Or will they actually do these based things? For Canadians:
The Conservatives are putting forth a motion of non-confidence on January 7th instead of waiting for Singh to fuck around for months on end. We’re at a projected 99% chance of a Conservative majority government, we’re likely looking at a late February/early March election where Trudeau will be ousted forever and we’ll have a Conservative leadership for the next decade.
For Amerimutts:
Prior to the Christmas break that the government takes, the leader of the NDP (Basically, the third party that works in conjunction with the Liberals) said he would vote non-confidence in the government, triggering an election and removing Justin Trudeau from power. He back-peddled during the vote and refused to do so in an attempt to prolong his stay in the government until March, where he’ll get his pension. He’s essentially holding the country hostage until he can get his absurdly large pension and be set for his entire life. The Conservatives have motioned to parliament that he can suck many such dicks, he’s being dragged back in to do his fucking job and vote based on shit he’s said he’s going to do. When this happens, an election will be triggered and the Conservatives WILL win as the majority government. A majority government means they have over half the seats in parliament and they may pass whatever fucking laws they like, like banning HRT for kids, stopping all immigration, ejecting all the fucking pajeets back to their shit-stain country, fixing all the homosexual fag shit that Trudeau injected into everything, ect. All the good stuff the Conservative party has been planning to do for over a decade.
We're so fucking back boys.
No, they're considerably more right leaning but I think they do maintain things like not banning abortion and keeping the medicare system we have. Other than that, they want to defund federal funding of federal media, they want to disperse gun buy backs and gun bans while strengthening your rights to own a gun, throwing out drug decriminalization, getting rid of kids using HRT, completely defunding universities that unconstitutionally block any free speech, leaving the internet fucking alone in terms of censorship and letting police handle things like that, things like that. I think the party leader is "technically" what you'd consider to be a Libertarian. But are the Leaf Conservatives like the Tories in the UK where they're just a slightly less leftist Left party? Or will they actually do these based things?
All this because Trump got re-electedPrior to the Christmas break that the government takes, the leader of the NDP (Basically, the third party that works in conjunction with the Liberals) said he would vote non-confidence in the government, triggering an election and removing Justin Trudeau from power. So Canadians are still going to go to the US to get treatment because they can't get an apointment at home. Healthcare is something that I think is something your screwed in some regard with no matter your country.keeping the medicare system we have
It has nothing to do with that, this has been going on for years. If anything, it's because of the poor policy decisions of Trudeau. All this because Trump got re-elected
It's true that some rich Canadians will travel to the U.S for elective procedures (Non-urgency surgeries like removing a fucking mole.) 95% are not doing that, not only do we not have the money, we don't have the luxury to drive for hours for a procedure. We all go to our hospitals here and you're likely to wait 2-6 months for a procedure like that anyway. So Canadians are still going to go to the US to get treatment because they can't get an apointment at home. I am 100% convinced Justin will stay as Liberal leader after he loses, maybe not until the next election but definitely for a whileI hope Trudeau refuses to concede after he loses.
I want him dragged out of office crying and screaming about how he really wants to be Prime Minister and who his dumbass daddy was.I hope Trudeau refuses to concede after he loses.
There's no chance he doesn't do this (ruining his party in the process for, as another user put it, their rest of our lives) but refusing to leave office after losing would be the cherry on the shit sundae that is Canadian politics.I am 100% convinced Justin will stay as Liberal leader after he loses, maybe not until the next election but definitely for a while
Liberals MPs have the power to bring together their caucus, do a sort of anonymous vote and remove him from power forcefully if he doesn't remove himself. It's a non-confidence in prime ministerial power so to speak, it was introduced in 2015. Will they do that? It's hard to say. It would be the best move for them right now, they could show Canada that they take this shit seriously and they care by doing it, it would heal some damage and it's not as if a change in leadership is going to hurt or help their chances of victory, they don't actually have a chance.I am 100% convinced Justin will stay as Liberal leader after he loses, maybe not until the next election but definitely for a while
Trudeau never misses an opportunity to embarrass the country. Throwing a temper tantrum and refusing to resign is on brand if you ask me.There's no chance he doesn't do this (ruining his party in the process for, as another user put it, their rest of our lives) but refusing to leave office after losing would be the cherry on the shit sundae that is Canadian politics.
I'd put money on him pulling another Emergencies Act stunt before the election, regardless of whether it happens early or not, if I had the money to gamble.
They're distinctly more towards the right within Canada but would probably still be considered left-wing or like very-center right by American political metrics. But are the Leaf Conservatives like the Tories in the UK where they're just a slightly less leftist Left party? Or will they actually do these based things?
I think this is possible and the reason we're current in this holding pattern is that they're trying to figure out a game plan for leadership of the Liberal party.I am 100% convinced Justin will stay as Liberal leader after he loses, maybe not until the next election but definitely for a while

It's a miracle no one's invaded and conquered Canada yet. Maybe the Indian immigrants will change that.Justin's old man Pierre also stubbornly clung to office while extremely unpopular with his own party. He claimed he "Took a long walk in the snow" one night when he decided to resign. Something that a lot of the liberals are telling Justin to do.
There is a bit of irony in how Justin's time in office copied his own father's time in office. We as Canadians certainly doomed ourselves to repeat history.
It just wouldn’t make any sense for the United States to lose and have nothing to show for it.It's a miracle no one's invaded and conquered Canada yet. Maybe the Indian immigrants will change that.
