Canada is a failed state

Well, the big issue from where I am sitting is that Ontario is overtly antagonizing Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Covid, the truckers, carbon taxes, mass immigration etc, they are all grains of sand adding to the pile. Eventually something will break there if the current trajectory continues. And If even one of those provinces breaks and moves towards Union with the USA the other two are sure to almost immediately follow. This would leave British Columbia in a pickle as it would become an exclave attached to the Pacific northwest like a dingleberry, and Ontario would be stuck leading a rump state with Quebec who would probably start agitating to leave again
When Trump is in office I really, really hope he begins actual talks with the premiers of Alberta and those flat bits to the right about joining America, even if not as a State but as whatever Puerto Rico is. Alberta wants to go independent but they are landlocked and would either need BC to split off and join them (not happening, developer a transportation line to the northern sea (expensive), or come to an arrangement with America that is effectively free trade. Even if those talks never come to anything, it would compel Ottawa to pay attention to the provinces to the left more.

Remember 2008 when Canada stood out as the greatest g7 nation with healthiest balance sheet ever. Scandal free. Effective governance. Limited temp workers. Everyone had a job. We were so smug.

Now we are nothing more than a colony for the world.

Canadians are still smug. It's truly amazing. They have that "Reddit smirk" on their faces, while they are waiting for their free medical care.

Maybe I can finally own land in the future, if annexation doesn't make me a slave
Sorry to disappoint but after Project 2025 is implemented anyone who isn't a true and honest Anglo-Saxon will be promptly sent to the ICE Plantations. There is an out though! If you pick cotton and make GPUs good enough, you will be granted the honor of mine-sweeping during Anti-Papacy Operations. Ave Trump.

So there's a plan to fully divest the US of jeets? This is a bad thing? Praise the great enslavement of Toronto at the behest of the orange one's armies.

Here's my autistic nation-building fanfiction if USA decides to start annexing Canada and sets off a chain reaction of events:
-Alberta and Saskatchewan are a given to join America. Also the Yukon, it's literally right there next to Alaska so why not
-Quebec succeeds completely and becomes its own sovereign nation, annexing Labrador and Newfoundland and also maybe parts of northeast Ontario. In exchange they concede the part of Quebec below the St. Lawrence River over to the Gaspe Peninsula (keeping all or part of Montreal). This way whatever happens to southern Ontario/Toronto (Old Canada) it will still share land borders with the other Maritime Provinces.
-BC and Manitoba are tough ones. BC could go the same route as Quebec and succeed completely or just join whatever is left of Old Canada, but it would be completely isolated. Manitoba could split in half along its center west-east axis so basically Winipeg up to the top of the lake stays with Old Canada, and northern Manitoba joins the USA
-NWT and Nunavut who cares honestly
Whether Southern Ontario stays or goes they annex the maritime provinces
The real question is does America REALLY want Toronto and its surrounding suburbs? It's infested with jeets and liberals but it's a financial and business power region. Could be good, could be bad. We definitely don't want BC and its chink city.

BC is actually beautiful and amazing region. It's like California but colder and wetter. Which is why Hong Kong chinks bought up all the properties there.

Nah, fuck 'em.

I'll go one further: the residential schools were a good thing in premise, because they were made to stop what natives have become now. Instead of actually integrating into the nation they suck the money to live in corruption and squalor, and that self imposed suffering gets further stacked on our shoulders as 'letting the natives down'.

Any sympathy I had is so long since rotted away the chugs could sniff it to get high between raping their daughter and beating their wife. I've lived my whole life seeing them get special treatment in every facet of society only to bitch and bitch about how vile we are for taking their land and making them oh so horrible oh no poor babies. If only we white devils would stop making them do drugs, rape their relatives and kill their women.

Tophat me motherfuckers because I am so fucking sick of it all.
To be fair, I doubt it even occurred to them that future generations of whites would reorient their entire moral system around some romanticized view of the Injuns, allowing a guilt-tripping graft machine to shake down the entire country for various concessions and gibs extracted on their behalf.

Much more likely that they simply wanted to keep them from turning into backward tribes of petty thieves living on the margins of civilisation like the gypsies in Europe, and ensure that they would remain useful allies of the Crown in industrial-age warfare, as they had been in the 18th century.

Eastern BC is quite conservative as a lot of Albertians like to take a break from staring at a Prarie all day.

Take us with you!

I think it's pretty reasonable to just annex all of BC except a tiny bit around Vancouver city. It would be a funny Canadian equivalent of Hong Kong. In fact, this could also be done for all other cities the US doesn't want the population from. It's quite unfair that Italy and South Africa are forced to tie for most landlocked foreign nations trapped in their countries. The US can conceivably have half a dozen or so once Trudeau voters and "new canadians" are herded into the forbidden city of Toronto.

PEI bros are alright though. Charlottesville gets to come on board. Always did love those islands off the coast. Nova Scotia's lovely, shame about Halifax rent prices with jeets shitting it up.

I live in the Kootenays, if Alberta separates I am going there. I hate this province so fucking much.

They wanted them to learn real skills and assimilate into the greater society. Were they smarter they'd have ended reservations then and made it permanent, but they allowed their guilt and empathy to be exploited and now here we are.

This isn't the entire speech and it's full of obnoxious zooms and retarded shit. You can literally get the speech from the PP's YouTube
I'm wondering why Poilievre, Ford, and the rest of the Conservatives are consistently parrotting the anti-Trump line now; even Trump saw through Freeland's pathetic attempt to save face, and yet here is Poilievre taking the same line as the damn CBC.

Annexing most of Canada whilst leaving Vancouver and a few other city-states behind to be “Canada” would be the funniest option.

USA gets all the benefits and Canada becomes the direct USA’s bitch but gets to pretend it still exists.

Late news, yet... BC is still retarted, I'm tired of addicts having more sway than regular people.

But the Harm Reduction Nurses Association and other substance-use reform advocates launched a court challenge of the B.C. law and won, saying restricting drug use in public spaces would result in more drug users dying alone.

Perfect, take away more public areas, make more children and families see people die in front of them. Train your 6 year old too administer nalaxone so they can bear the weight of someones addiction and choices

VICTORIA — The British Columbia government has repealed a law it passed last year to restrict drug use in some public areas because successful court challenges prevented it from being brought into force.

Garry Begg, B.C.’s solicitor general and public safety minister, says in a statement the government has revoked the Restricting Public Consumption of Illegal Substances Act, that was passed in November 2023.

Nothing consequential will change on the ground after the federal government approved the B.C. government’s request in May to exempt public spaces from the province’s decriminalization pilot project, meaning police now have the authority to seize illegal drugs possessed in public, even without the provincial law.

The law was tabled in the B.C. legislature to tighten rules around the use of illicit drugs in public places after widespread criticism from municipal leaders and citizens who said the drug consumption in community parks and other areas faced fewer restrictions than cigarette smoking. But the Harm Reduction Nurses Association and other substance-use reform advocates launched a court challenge of the B.C. law and won, saying restricting drug use in public spaces would result in more drug users dying alone. B.C.’s Court of Appeal upheld a three-month temporary injunction in March put in place by a lower court that stopped the law that was intended to restrict public drug use in certain areas. But with the federal changes, police now have the discretion to consider taking action, warning the individual or referring the person, with consent, to services. Possession of substances under 2.5 grams for personal use by adults, in private residences, addiction health facilities, places where people are lawfully sheltering and overdose prevention and drug-check sites remain decriminalized. “These changes to the decriminalization pilot restrict the use of drugs in all of the places that had been intended to be covered by the act,” says Begg in a statement. “Our government remains determined to turn the tide on the toxic-drug crisis and we are starting to see signs of progress. If people encounter drug use in inappropriate places, police are available to enforce the rules and help to connect individuals to support services. ”The BC Coroners Service released figures earlier this month that said 1,925 people had died of overdoses in the first 10 months of this year, which was down about nine per cent from the same period last year. This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 19, 2024.
