The Federal Liberals and Conservatives are horrible in different ways. They're both in big corporates back pocket, so the mass immigration is not going to stop. The Liberals are more into nanny state government overreach, doing things like policing speech, introducing over the top safety/environmental regulations and banning guns while the Conservatives are more into moral fagging overreach, doing things like enforcing copyright, cracking down on drugs and Hellen Lovejoy "Think of the children!" type of shit. No matter which one of them gets in, they're not going to just fuck off and leave you alone nor put the common man first. Sorry if this is a bit of a black pill.
Its more simple than this.
Poilievre: "We want future migration to be tied to building new houses, if we build 250,000 new houses in a year, it will be that"
>Great, what about the 3 million people who have come in over the past 6 years, also don't we have a housing shortfall of like, millions of homes already?"
Poilievre: 250k more per year!
I wish I could exaggerate, but its literally 500 million new permanent residents admitted (not including TFWs, though they become next years PRs) every year since covid.
That's the black pill.
I'm saying this as someone who will take what they can get, and 250k is better than 500k, but like, would you rather eat a 1kg shit sandwich, or a 500g shit sandwich? This is the state of Canadian politics today with street shitters.
Either way, I wish that the greatest of our worries were the Helen Lovejoy type people or cracking down on drugs, lord that would be wonderful, to go back to 2008. I'm not saying either is good, but lel- imagine if
that was the biggest problem we have
In other news: trying to get in on the memes early for our almost certain next Prime Minister, anyone want to do one for him here? With the NDP ceasing to back the liberals, maybe well have a snap election earlier than a year from now- but either way, I won't be happy unless the NDP are dragged down kicking and screaming with the liberals because of the policies they were happy to sign off on as well.
"Won't you please just think of our hardworking Sikh friends in southern Ontario? $1400 dollars
inflation adjusted* could cover one of their rents in a one bedroom apartment for a month"
