People keep complaining about how immigrants in Canada keep buying up housing and driving the prices up but like, it seems like most immigrants just follow this model of having their parents pay their uni tuition, living with them, saving up for down payments, and then getting into the market. Meanwhile every white Canadian seems to move out to just rent from a landlord and their parents often don't foot the uni bill, so they end up constantly wageslaving instead of getting a real career. Why do people blame immigrants as opposed to just their white boomer parents who kick them out super early and demand "rent" and shit?

The immigrants shouldn't be in Canada in the first place. Governments haven't maintained infrastructure or the services needed to sustain the current level of people coming in.

South East Asians are also lying about their intentions for coming ("to study" my arse) and there is endless video of the lack of jobs and housing for these people - so why are politicians allowing them into Canada in the first place?
So they can drive up the housing prices, erode workers protections, and help stave off the inevitable recession.

I don't fault them for wanting to go to Canada, or Australia, or the US, or the UK - I wouldn't want to live in India or Pakistan either.
But they're fucking things up for the natives and this is impractical for societal function and harmony.

Australia has the exact same problem.
Our policy makers are going;
"Oh, young people can't afford housing and can't afford children. But if we cut immigration, then older generations/investors crack the shits because they believe their housing investments must always increase in value. Also the Business Councils will be furious that we reduced the wageslave class. Guess we better keep a retarded policy then!"

We shouldn't have people living in sharehouses until their late 30s because they can't afford anything else. That's insane.

Nearly every single new migrant in Australia ends up working for Uber or in franchise service industry work.
Not all of these jobs need to exist - do you need 3 McDonalds in a 5km radius staffed entirely by Indians? Or can people stop being lazy fucks and travel further to the 1 that already exists?
(Better yet, stop eating garbage processed slop. Maccas isn't even cheap anymore. Go to a cafe or something)

I had a theory that many in Canada are worried people like me have run out of tolerance. Sounds like you're coping hard. You can't get a job being white if the only hiring manager is a chink or jeet. I can't get service in English, I'm expected to dance like a nigger boy for them, I can see the cunt smug look in their eyes against me, they fucking smell like shit, they have only created a net negative on society through cultural and economic decimation. I can go out for a thirty-minute walk and count multiple fucking disgusting Indian men who will not use singles. I am almost hit every single day due to a rampant and unprecedented illegal immigration conspiracy, that is by means, real, happening, and completely shattering to every single system we have ever used in this entire nation.

My wife can't even go out alone without some non English speaking fresh-off-the-boat brown rapist harassing her. I fucking hate immigrants, boomers, politicians, doctors, feds, liberals, ignorant bootlickers, and apathetic libertarians. I wake up, every. single. day. I tell myself, "This is as close to hell as it can be" and we haven't even seen anything yet.

So I'm a month late in noticing, but the right-leaning Canada news sub on Reddit reopened.

There doesn't seem to be any specific drama over why it went private and then public again other than the main jannie having a meltie & taking his ball home for awhile being a little bitch.

Comments are still automatically turned off on any LGBT articles, but otherwise doesn't look like anything's changed.

Looks like a few mods were added.

I personally found a dearth in Canadian news while it was down as such subs act as a decent clearinghouse of happenings that aren't pozzed as fuck.

Definitely the worst aspect of modern Quebeckers is that they love to deceive outsiders into thinking their brand of "nationalism" is wholesome and pristine, even if that was objectively true for when the "Union Nationale" reigned supreme in the province. It does seem more centrist than I recall on a quick browse.

Though the one thread I opened had a bunch of "Well, I Never..." moralfagging about someone spitting on Marco Mendicino.
 
I remember some discussion earlier in this thread about what exactly counts as a 'failed state'.

One element is the failure to prosecute crime- one of the very basic expectations of a functioning state. A marker of a failed state would be vigilantism in cases where the state legal system is inept or complicit. For example:

A businessman shot dead in an altercation with a former client on Monday victimized hundreds of people through myriad enterprises that sparked three major police operations, netted at least $100-million and triggered dozens of lawsuits, according to interviews and court records.

For all that, Arash Missaghi seemed immune from consequence. His voluminous court records show no convictions, no jail time and no successful lawsuits against him in Canada, while providing few – if any – indications why criminal charges against him were withdrawn on multiple occasions.

His streak of impunity ended on Monday afternoon when one of his alleged victims, Alan Kats, penned a suicide note before confronting Mr. Missaghi at his Toronto office. A subsequent triple shooting left Mr. Missaghi and an associate, Samira Yousefi, dead. Mr. Kats took his own life, according to his widow.

Wife of Don Mills gunman says 2 victims allegedly defrauded family of life savings (archive)

The wife of a gunman in a fatal Toronto shooting says he believed the two victims were behind an alleged mortgage investment scheme that defrauded their family.

In a statement released by her lawyers, Alisa Pogorelovsky says her husband Alan Kats – who also died in the shooting –”could not handle losing our life savings and that is what lead to this tragic event.”

Police have identified the victims of Monday’s shooting as 54-year-old Arash Missaghi and 44-year-old Samira Yousefi, but have not released the name of the 46-year-old shooter.

Court records detail how Pogorelovsky and her husband sued the two people killed in the shooting, and others, after losing $1.28 million in an alleged syndicated mortgage fraud.

Alisa Pogorelovsky, Mr. Kats’s widow, said that police, courts and regulatory bodies all dropped the ball in their case, allowing Mr. Missaghi to defraud $1.37-million from the couple. “If he’d gone to jail, this never would have happened,” she said. “Police know about these people and cannot do anything. Nobody can.”
