Would a good Buckley's commercial just be someone like Ricky Gervais describing in vivid detail what it tastes like before saying "... But it works"?

Anyone here who has experience getting the fuck out of the cities? How was the experience and how's your quality of life.

I assume that rural life is overall better than city life in many ways, but be warned, there's still plenty of jeets in rural areas from what I've been told, even if not as much as the cities.

I live in Calgary and it's actually alright, there's still plenty of issues in the city that affects modern Canada overall, but Calgary, alongside most of Alberta is decently insulated from a lot of the liberal government's bs. Kinda like Q*ebec but Alberta is actually decent unlike Q*ebec which is still overall a shithole despite the equalization money (and you don't have to speak F***ch). I've been told that the downtown here is pretty chill compared to other cities in Eastern Canada and BC, though that's probably more of a testament to how bad the rest of Canada is.

But yeah, Alberta, both rural and urban is honestly the closest province to old canada

The trick is to be very picky about where you fuck off to. Most small towns have job scarcity, drug problems from despondency, and the main employers are services to pensioners and welfare leeches. There's also a constant braindrain problem from rural people leaving for the city to find work, so, be prepared for the bulk of your interactions to be with retards who can't hack it without their existing social networks. The small town rumor mill is also a bitch. People will invent things from whole cloth just to keep the local gossip exciting. You've got to bring something to the table so people will work with you regardless of the gossip. "Yeah, Jim beats his wife, but he charges a good rate for putting up drywall, and he shows up sober, on time" kind of thing.

If you don't have time to investigate 100 townships in person to see which ones are promising, look for ones that have good prospects in non-pozzed industry and aren't too dependent on Federal dollars. That can be tough, because the Feds actively suppress commercial activity that isn't captured by them. Provincial industries like mining are a bit of a different story. They'll look the other way in order to get bribes and tax dollars and leave you alone somewhat. If you're WFH, just make sure to spend a lot of money at the local shops of the town's movers and shakers.

GTA resident here. Problem is, most small towns in canada are either economic dead zones and/or drug infested shitholes, so your best bet is to find a large town/smaller city with some kind of economy, and for the moment, less jeets. Personally im looking at Red Deer, Brandon or Trois Rivières, but idk, im in the same boat as you.

As someone who moved to a small town after growing up in a big city, we still have a horrible issue with homeless people here, it can also be extremely difficult to make friends due to not having a lot of avenues to socialize or because the locals prefer to stick with the group they may have grown up with. If I ever did lose my job, my only option would be to pack up shop and move somewhere else because there's no other reason for me to be here.

PL over 9000 for me, but I recommend even just starting a group with a small fascination.

I was able to get connected with a local conservation group by having a page curating my botany finds, helped me narrow down the bullshit from actual nerds.

Build it, and they will come. (Just don't redeem)

Edit: retarted posters in a coffee shop or bulletin board go a long way, "nature hike" is easy, unsure how far "Book Club where we find the word nigger" would go

I don't recommend panning any meetups though
We have a Reddit, Tumbler, and Soyteens meetup picture.
Might as well complete it with a Kiwifarms meetup pic :)

I heard there were reactionary elements in Quebec. Im not sure how popular they are in Quebec however.

Very true unfortunately. I actually vacationed up North, and saw lots of obviously unemployed welfare leeches, and homeless drug addicts. And pajeets were hoarding the jobs.

I live somewhere with less than a thousand people and jeets still found their fucking way here.

Others have relayed a lot of it already but the key is intention. The job desert is real, unless you have full remote work you're going to be incredibly limited on choice even for blue collar professions. Minor power level but I grew up in a tiny village (<500 people) and the only sustainable work there was in forestry, tourism, and basic retail. Even with such a job you're not making much, and living costs can be higher than cities given many commodities must be sourced from urban centres upwards of 4-6 hours distant; everyone I knew growing up eventually moved away because money became such an overriding concern.

Rather amusing anecdote, my red blooded American county just got done with a Jihad against the Jeets. They are all living just a stones throw away in an adjacent county and developers came asking for permission to expand development across the county line for a new mixed used commercial/residential zoning on what is currently farmland just a few hundred meters from New Punjab.

All the Whiteoids and Negroes showed up at the county council meeting and trust me bro, the people supporting the plan were beaten up in the parking lot of the county administration building. When it came time to vote on the zoning it was a Christmas miracle. Nobody showed up to support it. Fascinating!

I love my home county. You can literally see the border between it and it's neighbor from space, because the urban hellscape ends that abruptly. Good folks here who weren't born yesterday.
