Canada is a failed state

There are lots of work up north, but it's mostly fly in fly out. Because literally no one wants to live in a desolate icy wasteland with only a bar and a walmart for entertainment.
There's no bars or Walmarts involved with fly-in jobs, that is for stuff like the Mary River Mine. And you're still stuck in our shitty real estate market because you have to live somewhere in between your times in a barracks north of the Arctic Circle.

And yet, when I tell American leftists how shit our situation is, they always just respond with "Hurr durr free healthcare". It's infuriating.
I received the same reaction until I told them about my sibling recently having to wait in an ER for 10 hours after a car crash and me having to go to multiple hospitals as a kid dying from pneumonia because the first doctors told me nothing was wrong with me. Free healthcare means nothing if it's complete garbage.

Also, even my most liberal coworkers were astounded when I told them about Trudeau blocking people's bank accounts. I was shocked by their outrage.

A lot of people from my country have been emigrating to Canada and I don't understand why. I haven't heard a single good thing about Canada in the past 5 years maybe?
And I'm not saying this in a "haha your country fucking sucks" way, I'm genuinely upset on your behalf because I also hate that my own country is being flooded with a bunch of people and then rent magically increases... no one in power seems to understand that these things are related.

The same thing is happening to Ireland, England, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand etc. Canada should serve as a warning to Americans not to fuck up their country because its the only failing state most Americans even know about.

Immigration may not be the only thing that can destroy nations, but it's certainly the most reliable. Hell, the USA doesn't even have shit birth rates. It's about 1.8 TFR atm, which is barely below replacement. The US could just never bring in another immigrant ever again and sit pretty while China withers away. The notion that any nation needs immigration is a neoliberal machination to bring in jeets, niggers, and chinks.

which country? we have an absolutely predatory immigration system, people are practically RECRUITING jeets and others over in their own homelands. Immigration is a racket that a few people make money off of and the rest of us suffer from.

Mediterranean country. Honestly I feel ashamed sometimes when I tell other people where I'm from because I'm always afraid that they'll have a bad impression of my country because of the immigrants they get. Most people seem to think of us as hard working and respectful but I also know that we're not sending our very best sometimes. I am all for deporting those pieces of shit back here. Every country should be able to deport immigrants that don't contribute positively.

I agree that the vast majority of countries need to tighten their immigration rules but they won't because it makes them money. I can try to understand how a country would need a small amount of people to do "the jobs no one wants to do" but do we need millions of them? I mean, a lot of these people don't even work so what's the point of having them here...

Edit: we also have jeets recruiting other jeets here. I hate it so much...

I was asking because it could be a straight standard-of-living improvement. We get a lot of Russians and Ukranians where I live because the bad aspects are no worse than back home and the good aspects are much better, like fewer drunks on the streets and no blatant mafia corruption.

It's kind of a standard-of-living improvement since there's 2 main reasons why people in my country leave (who the fuck cares but I'm still gonna talk about it):
1) Rent here is higher than minimum wage
2) Not many job opportunities if you're like a scientist or someone with big ambitions in general

So we're not running from war, we're not refugees or victims of any kind. But the housing crisis here is insane, and the government prefers to give away money to parasites instead of investing it in technology and innovation. Other than those two issues I pointed out, my country is pretty damn awesome.

And we also have a lot of Ukrainian immigrants but they have all been super nice and assimilate well. I seriously cannot remember the last time I saw on the news that a Ukrainian person committed a crime here.

so Turkey? everyone else in the Mediterranean is either a country with people that we think they're civilised, where we have to pretend to like, or where we wouldn't know enough about to form an impression from the immigrants

Not Turkey, but we're gonna turn into Turkey 2.0 if we keep letting everyone in. :cryblood:

If you're from Canada you probably know some of us, I'm saying this because recently we had this weird segment/ little documentary on the news about our "diaspora" in Canada and how awesome it was living there. I was so weirded out by it because why the fuck are they airing this? Do they want more of us to leave so they can replace us?

Ah, I'm guessing Spanish, Greek, or Italian. Hard to tell the difference with the rate all three are getting flooded with third worlders.
My guess is Croatia.

Today I remembered a dystopian novel I've read a few years ago called "The Giver." It takes place in a dystopian society but one that paints itself as an utopia. One with no war, poverty, or suffering, at the price of free choice and emotions. (similar to how canada tries to paint itself as a "post-national utopia").

However, that's not the main similarity I was remind of. In the book there the keepers of the memories and events of the past are called Receivers. The previous receiver before the main character couldn't handle seeing the violence of past humans and commited suicide by EUTHANIZATION, since their society allows medical suicide. Pretty much predicting canada's MAID as the book was released in 1993 while MAID was legalized in 2016.

So yeah, Canada is a literal dystopia. Even if you ignore the 1984 style censorship state it's still very similar to other dystopias. The book also has non-receiver characters see the world in black and white, again similar to canada's whole, post-national "identity."

TLDR: MAID was predicted by a book called "The Giver" and books besides 1984 predict canada's current dystopia.

Too bad we can't have any of our elites relive the memory of being sliced open by a toboggin blade over and over again
