If BC is on board then being independent would be viable. There are benefits to joining the States but as long as we aren't trapped between two trading partners then it will be better to go off on our own. I assumed that as long as BC was cucked that would not be possible, but if they're willing to see reason then there's a chance.

Well, we need to get 600k sigs in AB to force a referendum per the Clarity Act. I dont think Canada can stay together much longer. I’m already getting organizing emails.

Trump literally said that he'd rather deal with the Liberals than Poilievre a little more than a month ago. And why wouldn't he, the Libs are the ones who have spent the last decade systematically nuking the Canadian economy, all efforts to tap into Canadian resources & make Canada less comically reliant on the US (ex. the Energy East pipeline, which IIRC would've been literally the very first pipeline directly connecting Eastern Canada to Alberta's resources without crossing through the States first), and any meaningful sense of Canadian nationalism or a Canadian nation. Carney got bailed out by an exceedingly shallow, paper-thin jingoism powered by hollow chest-beating rhetoric which has nothing of substance backing it up and which will die with the boomers that voted en masse for him, ironically exactly what Canadians like to accuse American nationalism of being.

Ah well. Before they are MAIDed by their jeet '''''caretakers''''', may Carney's voters still live long enough to see him get bent over a barrel & buckbroken for his entire term in office by Trump (because rhetoric aside, what the fuck kind of leverage does he actually have? Nothing, his own family lives in & his company Brookfield is now headquartered in America), and ideally also the end of Canada entirely. Whether it's just the western provinces that break away or the entirety of Canada getting annexed by the Americans to preempt its final metamorphosis into a Red Chinese satellite along the USA's northern border doesn't matter overmuch to me.

Isn't it true that the Canadian "electorate" flip-flops between Conservatives and Liberals every several years? (Historical examples: 1963, 1979, 1984, 1993, 2006, 2015.)

My hope is that (and call it optimistic), Canadians become so sick of Carney that they vote him out in April 2029, unless the government falls earlier. But I'm just not that optimistic.

Ah, well. If the people (boomers) want to vote for self-destruction, I, an American, can simply veg on the sidelines and have my bucket of popcorn ready.

On the bright side, if youth turnout ever increased, I would see that as a good thing.
