May I remind you all that 2 months ago at this time the Liberals were at 37 seats.

Ruby Dhalla got expelled from the Liberal leadership race. That is now two people that have been pulled. The brazenness of the Liberals coronating Carney is appalling.

We're running out of time to make a new party dedicated to evicting illegals and banning politicians from real estate investing.

Based Liberals kicking out the Pajeets from the leadership race

If only they were willing to kick them out of the country instead of just their party’s top jobs?

While I do not wish to underestimate the mental retardation of some Canadians, I get the inkling that we are seeing the Kamala effect here. This leadership race is just as much a formality and the Liberals want stay on the path Klaus Schwab Trudeau set them on. Carney may claim that the will abolish the carbon tax, but he is looking for a workaround because he has complete tunnel vision when it comes to his plans for a net-zero economy. He has already stated that he wants to impose tariffs on countries that do have acceptable carbon policies. Similarly, he is proposing an incentive structure where he will force "encourage" Canadians to make the "right" choice by buying more expensive "carbon-friendly" options. Never mind his bloviating about "less spending, more investing" when the two are not mutually exclusive; it's basically cooking the books the same way the LPC used immigration to artificially inflate GDP.

The problem with his theories on the "new" carbon economy is that theories rarely survive contact with reality. Reality has demonstrated that net-zero policies are doomed to failure time and again, but ideologues like Carney only double down in their delusion that forcing the same policy even harder on each attempt yields the desired result. Canada is a giant pressure chamber right now. The massive deficits the LPC have run, rampant crime, constant sweeping scandals and corruption under the rug, unfettered immigration. . . it only increases the pressure. Well, the chamber is buckling and the metal fatigue is now visible. Our only hope is that the powers that be open the release valve to relieve the pressure. The LPC won't do it. Hell, I'm not sure the Conservatives can turn the valve enough to stop the nation from exploding, but I am relatively confident that the Canadians with a modicum of self-preservation can see that the crisis we have is existential and Carney isn't going to save us. Just the opposite.

I think this is much the same affect. The Liberal's are engaging in just enough corruption to keep anyone from playing a kingmaker. I expect Gould will break for Carney at the convention to pull away woman votes from Freeland.

I also suspect the sudden rise in polling is the boomers having a collective meltdown over Trump. I also suspect that boomers are over represented in polling in Canada. Every single boomer I know is frothing at the mouth over Trump. As well the younger Liberal crowd seems to be feeling some motivation to vote Liberal to spite the orange man. Once the anger cools, the Liberal fortunes will decline again.

Literally Trump just has to say he doesn't want a failed state on his border and if the Liberals try to install a destructive puppet he WILL annex

I agree with the OP; this place is garbage.

I returned here from Japan after twelve years, and found that things are... well, read this thread.

I had no ill feelings towards this country when I left; at this point, I'd sell out this shithole for a stale Timbit.

A plain-cake Timbit.

All he really needs to do is annex Alberta and Saskatchewan because they are the most culturally compatible with the United States and have the highest GDPs-per-capita. British Columbia too since Trump will likely want to smite the fentanyl labs and allow Alaska to assume its rightful place as a contiguous state. Perhaps the Yukon and Northwest Territories since Ottawa ignores the arctic.

Why would the United States want a poorer, more pajeet-infested New York state (Ontario) or a colder Louisiana without the cajun cuisine (Quebec)? Manitoba and the Maritimes aren't prizes either.

Why do you come back from paradise that is Japan.

The Liberals need only say that Poilievre is "like trump" and all the urbanites in Montreal, Toronto and the atlantics will vote liberal again. PET was able to ek out a 4th term Majority in 1980 with 0 seats west of Ontario. If the Liberals get one thing right it's that the average urban canadian has an iq of 65

I do think that the silver lining is that whenever Carney does interviews he's absolutely atrocious. He always devolves into nonsensical word salads and pandering depending on which outlet he's speaking to. If there's a shred of hope it's that the cattle see how awful of a communicator this globalist lizardman is

I spent 5 years away and everything was so utterly different. I t was shocking about how bad things were. I had never seen homeless in small town Canada, now they are everywhere. Every town is awash with the jeet menace. Natives emboldened by shrieking women are now stealing bikes and cars on an industrial level.

Any group of people told, over and over, that they are always victims, and can never be perpetrators, will always produce more than its fair share of dangerous sociopaths.

Give me a generation of children, and let me teach them that everyone with blue/green/grey eyes has been and is horribly oppressed by all those with brown/black eyes. That all the frustrations, failures, annoyances of Blueys are always the fault of the Blackies. Who should be surprised at the riots and lynchings?

All groups have their share of sociopaths, but when the sociopaths of one group are validated, even worshipped, bad shit's gonna happen.

And you couldn't find love in Japan, or bring it there?
I brought it there, for twenty years. It came back here, and I tried to follow it.

Hence why I am not totally convinced that Carney is moving the needle as much as the pollsters and the legacy media suggest. It's not just the urbanites, but also a generational issue. The bulk of Liberal support comes from Boomers who reaped most of the rewards from the post-WWII prosperity and looted succeeding generations to ensure their own comfort. (Affluent white female urban liberals are the worst, though. They only care about their fee-fees and have no shame over screwing their grandchildren.) Whatever support the Liberals had from the 18-34 demographic evaporated. Some may join in the "Orange Man bad" chants, but the reality of cost of living could hopefully bring them back to reality. Business Liberals may be a bit gun-shy since Carney is sounding like a Soviet or Maoist apparatchik in said interviews.
