Hockey is probably 10-20 years behind other sports in terms of analytics, and lots of public has clung to junk data so there being more fans doesn't lead to more talented coaches, scouts, or executives, and in many cases it becomes detrimental because the average fan is aggressively dumb.

I give it 50/50. Either Trudeau has been completely bitchslapped and cowed to the point that he may actually allow an election to happen, or he plans to do more shenanigans later. I do expect that Trump is actually wargaming what annexing Canada looks like, and if Trudeau tries something funny then Trump will make an offer to Alberta to join America. If Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba join America then Canada will fracture into smaller and more easily contained regions.

Whatever bro, try pulling up a group of trucks acting hostile in an American city and see if you don't get outright shot by the cops. American cops would've dragged them out of their trucks and mass arrested them within the first few days so in this way, America is superior.

It really depends on what the politics of the truckers are and where they're blocking the road. A lot of places in the US allowed and even supported large protests that shut down interstate highways. It even led to a shitload of rapes and murders, and the local governments not only did nothing, but destroyed all the evidence that could have led to future prosecutions. The kids of major politicians were getting detained and released for what would have otherwise been serious felonies. That being said, all the cities that allowed it long term were bug hives similar to Ottawa.

The longest protest outside of the White House was by a guy and Spanish woman who had a single tent near the White House for 35 years.

The second longest was the Poor Peoples Campaign that camped out for six weeks led by the SCLC and Martin Luther King who was assassinated in the midst of it.

There is no precedent for the white house allowing dissenting voices to sit outside of it for longer than two days before action is taken. The political views are opposite of the sitting government. And they are sitting outside of the white house, blocking the roads to the white house. I literally cannot even imagine a world where any sitting president - Biden, Obama, Trump - would go outside and have a beer with these people who are chanting about how much they hate them. Secret service wouldn't even allow that.

But this is the country where a man broke into Jean Chretien's house and tried to attack him with a butter knife. Thats how lax we are.

I find it funny how some fellow leafs are claiming this is some giant win for Canada. Now Trump has egg all over his face... somehow? Trump had people shitting their pants in terror and almost caused our government to chimp out with a full on trade war with a country we rely on for a majority of our stuff. But no, apparently Trudy was the one in charge. :\
