Keep in mind with the price of NHL tickets and season tickets it's only the Upper middle class and White collar workers (if the corporation they work for gives them tickets from the season tickets they hold) that attend the games.

The fight is psychological - as it's been for a decade through controlled media etc. The fight is to not give away your own rights, in whatever way that presents itself. As an American - shit like this is probably going to generate far more resentment than tit-for-tat tariffs ever will. Retaliatory trade measures are understandable and expected, but petty unsportsmanlike conduct is going to utterly sour the general American perception of Canadians.

I noticed an upswell of Canadian "patriotism" from the usual rejects so I just want to say this:

FUCK. TEAM. CANADA.

This sudden surge in national pride is superficial at best because it is built on hatred for the Orange Man and nothing else. Once scratch past the surface, the country is still the dysfunctional mess it was before the tariffs came into force. Not a single thing will be built. Not a refinery, not a pipeline, not a factory, nada. There is no plan. Our government will use it as a cover to loot the treasury so that they can enrich themselves while they bring in the banker to liquidate the rest. All while the gormless rabble curse Trump's name.

I want no part in this. Not because of any love for Trump, but because I refuse to participate in this grotesque charade where this shambling husk of a nation pretends that it is the axis on which the universe spins.
