What a wild day. Trudeau lost his chief supporter and she left a catty letter like the last decade isn't her fault as well. How incompetent does Trudeau have to be before they finally turf him? Like he's gone through like 3 entire cabinets worth of cabinet ministers in 10 years. That's got to be the highest turnover ever. The worst part about it is, the NDP still won't collapse this government. Do they not realize that they will bear the backlash as well. The punishment coming to the Liberals is coming to the NDP as well.

I thought they would but then demand people pay it back in 1-2 years when people are even worse off, just like he did with the CERB payments.

I have never seen Canadian governance get this bad. Long long before it gets this out of control, parties will at least oust the leader, historically.

They probably want him out, but there is no formal mechanism to do so unless he loses an election. Basically, if he refuses to leave, their only option is to apply pressure behind the scenes like they did to Biden, or vote against their own party in a confidence vote and bring down the government, forcing an election and putting their own seat at risk.

That's 500 dollars per person in Canada. Be it man woman or child, I shudder to think how much per actual taxpayer. I'm so happy that the Liberals can assuage their white guilt with everyone's else money.

What on earth for? The USA spends 3 Billion dollars a year on the Natives, and they are literally wards of the State where the Federal government is responsible for the reservation roads, police, schools and health care. We also have SEVEN TIMES more Native Americans then Canada. WTF is Ottawa spending the money on?

The feds have sunk enough money into already to turn things around, but the problem is they all insist on various forms of self-government and the federal dollars end up going toward buying the cheif a new F-250 instead of getting teens off drugs.

I think many tribes are so psychologically damaged as a result of residential schools and generational trauma, they cannot possibly be expected to govern themselves, but any intervention in self government at this point would be considered basically genocide by large swaths of the population. It's quite a pickle.

There is a cabinet revolt and caucus revolt. There also used to be leadership reviews but Trudeau had it removed. Basically the caucus can vote against the PM on a confidence motion. The Cabinet can as well, effectively shutting the PM out. I'm actually shocked this hasn't happened yet. I think this is the beginning of a Cabinet revolt but we will have to see how far it goes.
