Biden administration climate czar John Kerry, also a former Secretary of State in the Obama administration, is under fire for allegedly leaking information about Israel to the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Kerry denies these claims, and the White House is not commenting, but Republican lawmakers are calling for an investigation. Some are also calling for Kerry to resign if the allegations are proven to be true.

GOP Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) wants to question Kerry about these claims in a “closed hearing,” while Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Rick Scott (R-FL), and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) all urged Kerry to consider resignation.

Two House Republicans, Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Jim Banks (R-IL), called on Kerry to be removed even before the results of any probe.

“This is a criminal act and John Kerry must be immediately investigated and PROSECUTED,” Stefanik wrote on Twitter. “President Biden must immediately remove John Kerry from any government or advisory position.” Banks told Washington Free Beacon that Kerry should resign “immediately” and that the investigation should be “retrospective.”

Two former officials in the Trump administration, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, also called for Kerry to shed light on the allegations.

“Secretary Kerry, can you please explain to the American people why you disclosed information about Israeli operations to Iranian FM @JZarif? We’ve known for years you were helping him. Americans deserve to know why,” Pompeo wrote on Twitter.

Haley demanded that both Kerry and Biden explain themselves for “tipping off Iran” and stabbing Israel in the back.

“This is disgusting on many levels. Biden and Kerry have to answer for why Kerry would be tipping off Iran, the number one sponsor of terror, while stabbing one of our greatest partners, Israel, in the back,” Haley wrote on Twitter.

The White House and State Department both refused to shed light on the claims thus far.

First, let's get the low-hanging fruit outta the way: something something neocons yadda yadda Greatest Ally hummana hummana Good Goyim blah blah blah.

Say what you want about Israel, but you can't have an ambassador blabbing about shit to a hostile foreign power.

Secretary Kerry, can you please explain to the American people why you disclosed information about Israeli operations to Iranian FM @JZarif?
Pompeo, could you please explain why so many "American" politicians care more about Israel than their own country?
one of our greatest partners, Israel
4chan shitposts are basically reality, now

Iran chants death to the US and actively funds terrorist activity against us, Israel doesn't.

John Kerry has always been a treasonous shitbag, and Democrats are hellbent on propping up Iran.

I agree with you but with one slight addendum: they're hellbent on propping up Iran...to make them look tougher when they start a war with them.

Definitely OT, but I'm genuinely curious which country people believe serves as a better partner to the US than Israel? The world of diplomacy is one of competing interests and countries (mostly) stabbing each other in the back, allies included. Go through the recent history of any nation and you'll find some sort of double dealing and backstabbing going on.

I may petition this to become a Deep Thoughts Thread depending on how many responses I get.

The people getting outraged over this would probably have advocated that America back "our greatest ally, Israel" during the Suez Crisis, as well, regardless of its questionable legality

'Tipping off' implies that the Israelis somehow had a no-doubt nefarious plan foiled by this. Based on the reporting around it, it seems more like he's just confirming the Israelis were responsible for a good number of attacks. Speaking of which, where were these Republicans when there were allegations that Trump goofed up and shared military intel with Putin? Talk about a lack of consistency, same goes for the Dems of course.

Aussie here, we really want to be your 51st state. To the point where boomers and gen x-ers are raging on about 'muh freedom of speech and first/second amendment'.

We've already given up sovereignty over Pine Gap to the yanks, might as well make the American domination of Australia official.

I have never met a single person in my life who actually endorsed John Kerry. The few liberals I knew who voted for him did so only because they hated Bush, and even still they privately said they didn't like Kerry at all and wished anyone else had been on the ballot. The majority of liberals I knew that year simply stayed home instead of voting because they though both choices were a shit sandwich and didn't want to participate.

“Especially the Go Kerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!part. I really don't understand why they are always ardently shouting and supporting their politicians at these election rallies. It must be part of the mass intoxication. But aside that, the election of Kerry is absolutely no solution. He boasts about his carrier as a Vietnam veteran, and he as well is a very eloquent preacher of American militarism - he as well wants a bigger US Army. He as well is backed by a group of transnational capitalist organizations. Simply put, they have the choice between a fascist and a nazi.

In order to change something about the situation, to cast a ballot in favor of a Republican or a "Democrat" won't change a thing (in the positive sense). They need more some sort of revolution to subvert the whole system. But that is not going to happen as long as social security is for communists, the whole nation fights for God and not greeting the Flag makes you an outlaw. The country's bases are fundamentally screwed, so I don't expect a solution soon. Instead, it might be easier - at least for us - to just allow them to continue their arrogant behavior and wait till their car hits a wall. It will happen, don't worry. I am curious about the Hillbilly faces when in 2050, some filthy rich Chinese will drive their Mercedes convertible into the impoverished Midwest to buy some blond sex slaves.” - forum post from 2004

Gas prices have been going up lately. Get rid of the abbos and we'll talk.
Despite the fact we export most of our natural gas, it still is somehow more expensive for the average customer here than it is in the nations buying our LNG.

We can't do anything about it without Labor.

Are Iranian fighters in Iraq killing marines worse than jewish agents blowing up 2 buildings in nyc 2 decades ago?
also what about burning down american cities?
Israel is funding antifa, not iran.
Iran doesnt care what happening outside the middle east...

In my personal view? Israel is the best we have in the region, best over all partners would be the Aussies and the Japs. If we delve into Realpolitik then Russia should be our greatest ally simply because our spheres of influence don't overlap much, but we're both natural enemies to China. This is fundamentally what Chinese money wants to prevent.

I'd turn the Saudis into a glass bottomed parking lot in a heart beat though. The Jews may weild undo influence, but the Saudis own the State department.

Poland has fought in every American war since joining NATO, even the dumb ones like Iraq 2

thats fair, but Poland creates for the US a burden of defending a country that is highly antagonistic to the Russkies and has little geopolitical importance to us. I guess you could say the Eastern European states, including Albania, are pretty good friends, although it's not like we've expected a lot out of them. Taiwan seems to be a good friend, mostly because they overwhelmingly rely on us to continue their existence
