The official state flag of California as presented below.

s-l1600.jpg
To get a decent idea of the typical California, here is a thread dedicated to one.

Taylor Lorenz

Bill Maher keeps on insisting that the nation follows California, till Florida upstaged them, leading to a lot of butthurt by Californian moonbats and libtards and libcucks against DeSantis and Florida Man and Florida Woman. California also lost Joe Rogan, who decided to move to the Californian colony of Austin in Texas while Benny Boy from the Daily Wire ran to Tennessee.

Since there is so much news dedicated to California like the Warriors winning the NBA finals and the LA Rams winning the Super bowl, it leads to super smugness summed up in the meme below while the rest of the state resembles a third world shithole more than some 1st world West European nation that the liberals of California are obsessed with.

1644807705203.jpg

Might as well make a mega thread about the state, since everyone knows the drill over California doing whatever California does. And then tries to export it across the nation and shuns those that don't accept its "gift" of pozz.

Even recall candidate Larry Elder doesn't sugarcoat how much retarded the state still is.

Here are some threads that deal with California's dedication to wanting to dominate the other 49 states with their cancer, running away from their problems, destroying the 2A, spreading shitlib faggotry and actual faggotry.

And many more stories coming out of the Golden State for this work in progress.

The Golden State founded by racist white devils looking for gold, is in the current era filled with folks that believe the darkies deserve reparations for being slaves in California, never mind that California joined the Union as a free state during the Civil War. It is the home of Big Tech because of silicon valley but also started the sanctuary state meme for illegals despite trying to stop giving gibs to illegals in the 1990s but some kike judge overturned the will of the Californian. The same situation would repeat for faggots being able to marry, as it was banned by a proposition and the state government of California with butthurt faggots in San Francisco sued to get it overturned by the State Supreme Court of California. Apparently niggers don't like faggots but faggots also still simp for niggers.

Recently many slant eyes, whose younger folks are very pozzed, are being attacked by niggers and the response is to blame "white supremacy" since their own politicians are race traitors who obey the white liberal once they get elected, as the recent proposition to destroy the Californian Civil Rights Act showed but failed.

Joggers being raycist against Asians megathread

Californians through ballot propositions hate tax increases but will always vote in Democrats who increase it anyways while screwing up everything else as well. The state is a giant liberal bubble that can sadly skew the reality of many people. Its like being an alternative version of the United States where Fox News never existed.

California up until the 1990s was seen as the best state to emulate and live in, and now is just coasting off that reputation while many of its residents slowly realize that the California they knew is gone. California is now currently home to many American hating, freedom hating, gun hating, nigger loving and faggotry obsessed subhumans thanks to cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles and Berkeley and Sacramento.

1655852009802.png

California used to be a strong Republican state till Ronnie Raygun decided to give amnesty to many illegal wetbacks, as a result California has never gone back. But has gotten overall more blue, which leads to strong butthurt from leftoids whenever a Republican wins the electoral college but not the popular vote in federal elections.

There has been exodus from the Golden State which led to California losing 1 seat so far in the electoral college, but time will tell if it lowers those popular votes for the Democrats in general elections as well. But the conservative exodus might have strengthened other red states as well to some extent.

California has given America the following politicians, that always make the headlines and some are also shot callers within the party, since the California representation is the largest within the Democratic Party. The only thing more liberal than California is Twitter, however Californian politicians believe their constituency is Twitter and we are seeing the disaster by the Californian Democrats at the federal level because of this.

Lets go through a brief summary of many top politicians from California.

Like the current installed vice president of the United States hired because Biden wanted a black woman and just a black woman to be his running mate.

And here is the farms megathread dedicated to a woman that succeeded in politics and broke many glass ceilings thanks to the power of the casting couch.

Kamala Harris Megathread

There is the gun hating former California AG known as Xavier Becerra, who succeeded Kamala Harris when she became a senator, who became new secretary for HHS.

HHS_Xavier_Becerra.jpg

There is the current governor of California known as Gavin Newsom, who has become emboldened after the failed recall and why California deserves its fate of misery. Also is the nephew of a certain someone about to be mentioned down below at the end.

Gavin_Newsom_by_Gage_Skidmore.jpg

Here is the smug fuckface named Eric Swalwell, who has no problems farting in public or sleeping with Chinese Commie honeypots or wanting to nuke American gun owners who own the AR-15 and also shows violent footage of mass shootings to his young daughter as well for social media asspats.

Eric_Swalwell_114th_official_photo.jpg

There is this pajeet progtard grifter known as Ro Khanna, who pretends to be for the "working man" when he isn't. How could he be since he was elected in one of the most richest zip codes in America where Silicon Valley is based.

Ro_Khanna,_official_portrait,_115th_Congress.jpg

There is this gun hating chink known as Ted Lieu, who loves to open his big mouth every now and then. And proof of why repealing the Chinese Exclusion Act was a mistake.

Congressman_Ted_W._Lieu_Official_Photo.jpg

Here we got Adam Schiff, a lying kike who has a huge case of TDS and one of the main co founders and writers for the show trial and heavily promoted reality TV show known as the January 6th committee.

Adam_Schiff_official_portrait.jpg

Here is Maxine Waters, the black female version of Al Sharpton and who has even encouraged violence on camera against political opponents before, during and after the 2020 BLM Summer of Love.

Congresswoman_Waters_official_photo.jpg

And then we got Nancy Pelosi, who well is proof over why the Bible is against female political leaders to keep it simple, I mean her rap sheet is the longest and more deserving of a thread than Kamala Harris.

Official_photo_of_Speaker_Nancy_Pelosi_in_2019.jpg

To end on a final note, there is this useless faggot, whose name we don't even need to be concerned with, bunks with ugly fucks like Frank Luntz (just google it and then get eye bleach).

FURRY FIGHT: CHAOS ERUPTS AT CALIFORNIA BEACH ‘FURMEET’ AS PIRATE FURRY DRILLS ‘CHUD’ WITH MEGAPHONE (Archive)

We have major drama within the furry community, folks.

This afternoon, while searching for videos of Raiders fans fighting 49ers fans during Sunday’s preseason game, I came across this chaos at Saturday’s Sunset Beach Bonfire “furmeet” where furries were out in full force to have themselves a night doing whatever furries do at furmeets.

According to furry intelligence officers on the ground, there’s reportedly been some bad blood within the furry community and it all boiled over right there on Sunset Beach when a rival furry furmeet organizer named Renn, who is allegedly a “chud,” got into it with a pirate furry who wanted Renn and his furry boyfriend, Skaard, kicked out of the furmeet, according to Serah The Lioness, who claims to be a “Princess of Gender.”

I know, this one is wild. You have to read the full details to understand the context. People are always bitching online about a lack of “context.”

Well, let me tell you, Serah the Lioness, Princess of Gender, a self-described poly stoner, who goes by the pronouns kit/it/she, stepped up for the Internet over the weekend.

Let’s get to work understanding why all hell broke loose at what was supposed to be a positive furmeet:

You are correct, that first swipe doesn’t do much, but if you slow down the tape, that second swing of the megaphone clearly connects and clearly leaves a mark.

Renn took a direct hit.

In a bizarre twist I didn’t see coming, the pirate furry, who allegedly goes by Fenris, according to Furry Insiders®, was arrested over Saturday’s incident. We’re still working to confirm or deny that report. The furries are definitely chirping about jail.

Who would’ve ever thought in California you could end up in jail for a furry beach fight while street thugs are ripping off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of goods from retailers?

Honestly, this is California at its tamest. It can get so, so much worse.
Oh, I used to live there and was fortunate enough to get out right before Gruesome Newsom took over as Governor. Things were bad then, far worse now, but "Fur fight on a San Fran beach" is still bad enough I'm just glad there's no poop involved.

Oakland gets fucked up the wazoo and here comes in the liberal white savior to show them a new innovation to deter crime.

Airhorns.

Repeal all domestic violence laws.

I find it hard to believe that Oakland was 28 percent nigger as of 2010. I thought it would be over 50 percent.

Though it was over 80 percent plus white in the 1950s.

California and China have a special relationship. Where Washington has failed to get even a welcome mat in Beijing, California gets the red carpet. Could it be because of California's China-friendly policies? And could those policies be a result of all the Chinese money pouring into the state. Maybe. Because of Chinese investment in Hollywood, Silicon Valley and and other major industries in California, Chinese influence is rife across the state.

10 Freeway closed in DTLA after massive fire at storage yard; state of emergency declared

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Gov. Gavin Newsom proclaimed a State of Emergency in Los Angeles County Saturday night to help facilitate cleanup and repairs after a massive storage yard fire shut down portion of the 10 Freeway in both directions.

Note: Our coverage of the fire and freeway closure has moved here.

The fire was first reported at 12:22 a.m. in the 1700 block of East 14th Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It would eventually go on to burn 8 acres - the equivalent of six football fields.

The first storage yard was 40,000-square-feet and was fully involved with flames that engulfed multiple trailers, the Fire Department said. The flames spread to a storage yard of similar size between Lawrence and Elwood streets, and consumed a fire engine that became stuck in their path. Several civilian vehicles were also destroyed by the inferno.

"Firefighters have successfully defended three exposed commercial buildings from fire extension," the LAFD said in a statement. No injuries were reported.

The Department of Water and Power assisted by boosting water pressure in the area for the high volume needed, officials said. The agency also dealt with a cross arm of energized high-tension wire that fell on 14th Street.

The first storage yard is located under the 10 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 1:19 a.m., shutting down the interstate in both eastbound and westbound directions at Alameda Street.

Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions. The CHP was diverting eastbound traffic at Alameda Street and westbound vehicles at Santa Fe Avenue.

By 2:30 a.m., pallets in both yards were mostly consumed by the flames, and firefighters used bulldozers to move debris and put out hot spots.

Daybreak revealed twisted guardrails and blackened, chipped concrete at the freeway overpass, located in the heart of an industrial area.

Caltrans engineers were on scene to assess damage to the freeway and determine whether it was safe to reopen.

"If it's just the concrete that's what we call spalled -- chipped off -- there might be an opportunity just to go in and do some cosmetic fixes," Caltrans spokeswoman Lauren Wonder told ABC7. "If it's gone down to the rebar and there's some concern about the structural integrity of the bridge, we would need to keep any traffic load off of the structure and then that would be more extensive repairs."

The LAFD's Fire Engine 17 was the first on the scene and became stuck under the freeway overpass, officials said. It became engulfed by the blaze and was destroyed by the flames.

The freeway is expected to remain closed at the scene for at least 24 hours, Caltrans said.

Impact on drivers and nearby businesses

Mayor Karen Bass issued a statement Saturday evening, saying emergency crews will continue to assess the damages throughout the night.

"I have directed all city departments to immediately plan for how to address increased traffic due to this closure to best mitigate the impact on Angelenos and we will continue to urgently coordinate with our state partners to resolve this issue for not only the millions who use this freeway, but also for those who live and work in the surrounding areas."

She said she has spoken with U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who says the White House is ready assist.

"During the 1994 Northridge earthquake, CalTrans worked around the clock to complete emergency repairs to the freeways, and this structural damage calls for the same level of urgency and effort," Bass said.

Anyone planning to attend major sporting events in or around downtown L.A., you may want to seek an alternate route or plan for delays.

The Associated Press and City News Service contributed to this report.

If I'm laughing, it's to avoid crying. lmao.

dumb fucks

Can't wait to see this in a new Great Moments in Unintended Consequences.

=======================================================

In November 2022, Los Angeles voters approved a so-called 'mansion tax,' which slaps a 4% sales tax on properties sold for over $5 million, and 5.5% for those over $10 million.

The scheme (Measure ULA), put forward by Democrats, was projected to raise roughly $672 million in its first year, to be used for affordable housing.

Not only did the plan fall short by hundreds of millions of dollars (raising just $215 million), the measure caused residential building construction to plummet, raising housing prices even further, the Washington Examiner writes, noting that the tax doesn't just apply to large homes in Bel Air, "but also gas stations, commercial real estate, condominiums, and apartment complexes."

Los Angeles real estate brokers say the $5 million threshold means the new ULA tax will hit just about any apartment complex with over 15 housing units. This has discouraged lenders from offering mortgages on, and developers from building, the very multifamily projects the city needs more of to reduce housing costs. Since nearly two-thirds of homes in Los Angeles have asking prices of at least $1 million, working-class families must often rent multifamily homes to live in. CoStar analyst Ryan Patap noted that developers are further discouraged by the city’s “broader political shift in the city that’s more supportive of restrictions on landlords and more supportive of protections for tenants.”
Around the state as a whole, multifamily housing has trended above the national average. Whereas new multifamily housing permit authorization fell nationally by nearly 19% from 2022 to 2023, California’s only decreased by 5%. But in Los Angeles County, authorizations dropped by 19%, and in LA city, they slumped by a staggering 24%. The mansion tax appears to be to blame. -Washington Examiner
City officials are still slapping themselves on the back, bragging that $150 million from Measure ULA revenues have helped fund programs for short-term emergency rental assistance (for whom?), as well as tenant outreach and education, tenant protections, defense against evictions (squatter defense?), direct cash assistance for low-income seniors and people with disabilities.

"The pace at which ULA is generating revenue, especially over the last quarter, is impressive," reads a statement from Joan Ling, a real estate adviser and policy analyst in urban planning who is also the lead author of a report from UCLA, USC, and Occidental College recapping ULA's first year.

"ULA is enabling Los Angeles to finally meet the big structural challenges driving our housing crisis—like the skyrocketing costs of land and construction—so that we can build more homes more quickly."

That said, as the Examiner concludes:

Supporters have bragged that the legislation has already funded $23 million on eviction protection and tenant outreach and $28 million on aid to distressed tenants and landlords, but neither of these programs do anything actually to lower rents for working families.
The real protection Angeleno tenants need is from a Democratic Party that is constantly passing new regulations and higher taxes
that make new home and apartment construction more expensive. Until Los Angeles voters start electing leaders whose motto is “Build baby build,” they can only expect their existing housing crisis to get worse.
Indeed.

Crime-Ridden San Francisco Wants To Punish Grocery Stores For Fleeing Said Crime

Unpunished crime is so out of control in San Francisco that the city now wants to punish grocery stores who want to leave.

Under the 'Grocery Protection Act' introduced by city Board of Supervisors member Dean Preston (Democratic Socialist), stores that want to flee all the crime and other increased liabilities will have to provide the city with six months advanced notice, and make efforts to find a replacement supermarket for the location being vacated, Benzinga reports.

The move comes after While Foods shut down its flagship store in San Francisco after being open for just over a year, citing employee safety concerns.

The reports show how workers at the store were routinely threatened with weapons, while vagrants would throw food at staff, engage in fights, and even defecate on the floor.
One incident saw a homeless man with a knife spray an employee with a fire extinguisher.
...
There were also cases of drug overdoses with one man dying in the bathroom after overdosing on fentanyl and methamphetamine. Thefts were also common with large quantities of alcohol stolen from the store. -Daily Mail
Nearly 570 emergency calls were logged from the location, including one call with desperate pleas to the police saying "male [with] machete is back," and "another security guard was just assaulted."

Former SF Board of Supervisors member Matt Dorsey (who wasn't assaulted at Whole Foods) said he was "incredibly disappointed" at the closing.

"Our neighborhood waited a long time for this supermarket, but we’re also well aware of problems they’ve experienced with drug-related retail theft, adjacent drug markets and the many safety issues related to them," Dorsey said.

According to Preston, "Our communities need notice, an opportunity to be heard and a transition plan when major neighborhood grocery stores plan to shut their doors."

Preston's proposal would allow anyone impacted by a noncompliant store closure to initiate legal proceedings.

As Benzinga further notes, "It’s not just grocery stores that have had enough of the city. Other large businesses that recently closed their downtown San Francisco locations include Adidas, AT&T Inc., Nordstrom and Lego Group."

Maybe start punishing crime?

Oakland's mayor is being recalled and is being investigated by the FBI for money laundering.

Oakland Disaster Watch (Archive)

01.jpg
The news keeps getting worse for Oakland mayor Sheng Thao. Accused of creating a public safety crisis by dismantling the Oakland Police Department and missing a deadline for a state grant to fight retail theft, the mayor may soon be removed from office, less than two years into her term. Former Alameda County Superior Court judge and police commissioner Brenda Harbin-Forte and community organizer Seneca Scott, who ran for mayor of Oakland in 2022, are spearheading a recall effort, obtaining 40,595 valid signatures to place the initiative on the November 2024 ballot.

Early in the morning on June 21, the FBI raided Thao’s home. The surprise search extended to three properties connected with the Duong family, owners of California Waste Solutions. Several Duong family members are board members of the Vietnamese American Business Association. In the summer of 2023, Thao traveled to Vietnam with the association, ostensibly as part of a delegation to boost the country’s business dealings with Oakland.

The FBI has not revealed precisely why it raided Thao’s home. On June 29, the Oaklandside reported that Andy Duong, son of California Waste Solutions founder David Duong, may have laundered cash to Oakland officials through Music Cafe, a karaoke bar known for illegal drug sales, human trafficking, and prostitution. According to a California state oversight body, Andy Duong allegedly recruited dozens of people to write checks to Oakland City Council candidates’ 2016 and 2018 campaigns. He then reimbursed the check-writers with either his personal funds or money from California Waste Solutions. Each candidate received thousands of dollars. Thao, a council member at the time, was among the recipients.

Thao has not been accused of a crime, but it’s another bad story amid many exposing the city government’s dysfunction. Oakland is in a deep social and financial mess. Everywhere one looks is trouble.

Illegal stunt-driving exhibitions, for example, are now a common occurrence on city streets; one that took place at a 2024 Juneteenth event ended in a mass shooting that left 14 people wounded. Pervasive crime has led major chains like In-N-Out Burger to abandon the city. The Hilton Oakland Airport hotel, a 56-year mainstay, will close for good in August, leaving more than 150 workers without jobs. In a dubious exercise in brand management, the Metropolitan Oakland International Airport changed its name to San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport. And after this year’s season, the Oakland Athletics, the city’s last major league sports team, is leaving for Las Vegas (with an intermediate stop in Sacramento).

Though facing calls to step down, Mayor Thao, the first Hmong American to be elected mayor in a major U.S. city, remains intent on finishing her term. During a press conference in late June, Thao declared, “I will not be bullied, and I will not be disparaged, and I will not be threatened out of this office.”

Thao’s attorney, Tony Brass, who apparently didn’t know about the mayor’s plans to hold the news conference, promptly quit. Thao’s chief of communications, Francis Zamora, followed him out the door.

As the drama unfolds, passionate reforming Oaklanders like Scott are hopeful. The city, he says, is divided into political thirds: progressives, who tend to be older, white and affluent, as well as recent arrivals who are renters; moderates, who are race- and class-diverse established home- and business-owners; and people who bridge these two categories.

“The moderates always knew Thao was corrupt,” says Scott. “There was something funny about the infusion of cash to the progressives. But now the progressives have lost the hearts and minds of people in the middle. They are reeling and trying to save themselves. Even a lot of staunch progressives are doubting themselves.”

Speculation about any ties the mayor may have to sex trafficking (in association with the allegations against Duong) and financial malfeasance has captured the imagination of observers on social media, but for Oakland residents, the attention is not welcome.

Oakland native Sokhom Mao, a community member who served on the city’s police board and juvenile justice commission, laments the state of affairs. “Thao being raided by the FBI paints a bad portrait of Oakland across the country and world,” says Mao. “We’re already seen as a city of increased violence and multiple issues with the police.”

Mao contends that Oakland is being mismanaged because those in charge lack the experience and required skills, and no one is held to account for overspending. Public safety is a major concern, but it’s just one of many pressing issues. The city admits to facing a $177 million deficit in the next fiscal year.

“I hope the mayor does the right thing and steps down,” says Mao. “I supported her. Many did. We thought she’d come in and change Oakland, but as she progressed as mayor, she failed. We’re up to the brim in terms of what else we can handle. Everything is going downward because we don’t have a strong leader. She needs to focus on her personal issues and resign.”
