This game is honestly really fun to pick apart. Never played it but the streams ware pretty enjoyable.

I completely expected it to be shit pre-release and it was but it's been in development hell for so long that it's still that 2014 brand of mild cuck humour that's so sincere that you can't actively hate it. It's terrible but still funny instead of irritating.

Fun fact. Out of sick curiosity several years I tried to get a play at some of the trade shows it was demoed at before release. Each time someone was hogging the booth. I now know that it was the slow as fuck movement, menus, dialogue, loading times and combat that was forcing them to do it.

Even before I properly found out from a pre-release article I knew the plot was changed halfway through. Tons of stuff thematically seemed to be building up to an entirely different conclusion. I wonder if the story would have been less stupid if they kept the original last third.

Also lol at the developers trying to rationalize the game after the fact as "triggering" and "redpilling" and that's why nobody bought it. An interesting tactic but it was blatant that it wasn't their intentions unless the whole thing was some elaborate satire.
 
20 dollars for this? I could do that, or I could buy anything else. Though I'll play it for free as a laugh, pay up.
 
Jokes apart i was thinking of playing it after reading of it in HG101 but after the guy showed how much of a jackass he is i dropped the idea, maybe after i finish my backlog
 
Fuck YIIK, just watch Harmful Opinion's streams where he plays through it and rips the game a new asshole the whole time instead. This thing was on my shit list years ago for being one of the two games that had a cameo forced into Va11-HallA by their publisher Ysbryd Games alongside the equally garbage 2064: Read Only Memories. It's a shame because those cameos are the only shitty parts of Va11-HallA and the poor Venuzualen dev team didn't deserve to be muscled on like that just to hawk borderline shovelware.

Also fuck the developer for whining about mean reviews for like an hour on one of the recent episodes of The Dick Show. Nobody cares you were sad on a plane ride because you saw IGN Australia or whatever give your game a 6.5. What a homo-bag.
 
Or what about Heritage for the Future? That’s another game more fun than “Lol, I was just pretending to be retarded” in RPG format.
