It is an amusing historical factoid, given the amount of performative wailing on the subject, just how central and crucial black african nations were not only in creating and perpetuating the transatlantic slave trade *and* the arab slave trade, but also in providing the bulk of on-ground muscle, manpower, and long term enforcement of european empires once they started directly annexing the continent.

In both cases this was solely in exchange for power and privileges and protection granted by distant suzerains at the expense of their local enemies and rivals, and its still going today as shown by the horror show of post-colonial africa as carefully enabled by world powers.

Incidentally this is also why the congo free state was such a charnel house, as there were hundreds of different tribes in the area who all fucking despised eachother for ancient reasons and had been farming eachother for the slave trade for centuries, and then all of a sudden a european power with tech thousands of years ahead of the natives turned up, deputised a handful of the most pliant tribes, and told them in no uncertain terms they could do whatever the fuck they liked so long as they got rubber quotas and didnt waste bullets and in exchange they would recieve the full backing of belgium, which had the exact results you would expect from such a set up until other european powers intervened and forced belgium to take direct control and restrain their indigenous assets.

black people hair is called "pelo malo" in latam , translates as bad hair, except pelo in spanish is not used to refer to head hair but body hair. black women hair is literally just long pubic hair
